What I'd like my code to do: When user logs in I want to use default Spring Security to log him in. Then in LoginSuccessHandler I'm creating and saving to a databse a token. Using default logout, in LogoutSuccessHandler I need to delete the token from database.
My issue: I'm using Spring Security for login and logout. Login works correctly. Logout used to work correctly as well, but a couple of days ago I started receiving NullPointerException which is caused by null Authentication in LogoutSuccessHandler. Also, I'd like my API to be as stateless as possible. But I'm wondering; should I disable creating session for Spring Security will login/logout still work or does it need to create some king of session? I googled a couple of questions about it, but majority of them suggested that something is wrong with configuration. I tried a couple of different ones, unfortunately none worked.

I created a new jks file based on the meta data file and cert file I downloaded form the Azure portal using the following:

The passwords are entered in a local postgres database as '{noop}test123' so I don't think there should be an issue with encoding/decoding. There is a similar set up on a udemy course I've been following and yet theirs works fine.
You haven't defined any AuthenticationManager / AuthenticationProvider here that connects to your Postgres DataSource.
I have been having issues with connecting my Spring Application with auth.jdbcAuthentication() and consistently getting exceptions. I am able to write to the database and grab info from the database, however, I seem to have issues once I've implemented a way to authenticate against it.
I've read through several different sources and fail to get it to work. I was able to authenticate via the auth.inMemoryAuthentication().

After much frustration, I have even changed the sql Query in order to ensure I always authenticate (my returning a matching username and password) and yet I still get a 401 response.

And this still fails the authentication (I know the organization table is populated). This issue of why the permitAll() is failing doesn't make sense to me and why I am getting a 401.
NOTE: I removed using a password encoder in order to make this easier
So it turns out that I was missing two items. As #dur pointed out, I was missing .httpBasic().
Once I added that, I found an answer here that stated here that in order to permit urls, I would need to do the following:

I can retrieve object from LDAP using query like that:

The second parameter, if you set it to null, it will retrieve all attributes
I believe your error is thrown because you're passing in a username instead of a distinguished name.
