I'm using spring(3.0.4.RELEASE) and hibernate (3.4.0.GA) and deploying into a glassfish (web_3.1) container.
I have 2 wars and I want them to share the same cache via JNDI (this is very important to me, I've already used terracotta but it is too heavy weight for our needs), so I've added the hibernate and ehcache jars to domains/domain1/lib/ext/

I've scoured the web and most of the problems involve a clash between ejb3-persistence-1.0.2.GA.jar and the javax.persistence.jar provided with the application server.
But I can't find any other javax.persistence.jar in the deployed wars or in any lib folders that are on my classpath. To double check that this error is not being caused by a duplicate classes on the classpath, I removed ejb3-persistence-1.0.2.GA.jar from the lib/ext directory and got the following error:

This leads me to assume that the previous error is not caused by duplicate javax/persistence/spi/PersistenceProvider classes on the classpath. I've toyed with the idea that spring and hibernate were compiled with different versions of javax.persistence.spi.PersistenceProvider but this theory seems incorrect as I'm using the version as stated on the maven repository site:

GF + Hibernate + Spring = many bad memories (at least for me). What you could do is go to the GF admin page, then update tool, then choose the Hibernate framework. It will be installed. Of course, remove all the hibernate libraries you added. I remember doing something like this..

Kindly help me to resolve this issue
I'm trying to integrate SQLite, Hibernate and Spring in a single project. I think I'm very close, but stuck on a useless error that I don't know how to fix. Full stack trace is listed below. My only guess is that it has to do with the schema name - the table is within an unnamed schema. I don't know what other string could possibly be 0. I've done a project-wide search for "", '', and >< and the only possible empty string is the schema name in CrewMember.hbm.xml.

If I am correct about the schema name causing problems, I have no issue with changing it to something - but I don't know how. If that's the case, I'd greatly appreciate an answer with the SQLite3 command to change the schema name.

The class org/apache/http/client/ClientProtocolException is part of httpclient jar. I guess you missed to include that.
Add latest httpclient.jar into the classpath. You can download it from here.
First of all, I am really sorry for asking this question, because I saw a same problem with me here (Spring + JPA + MVC - Error creating bean) but I still do not know how to fix things in my situation. Because:
I am very new to Spring and I am doing a project in a very short time.
The imported project uses Spring 2.5.6 (very old). All jars file stay in 'lib' folder and it doesnt use Maven.
When I imported the project, it displayed those bugs. What I learnt from "Spring + JPA + MVC - Error creating bean" is that I need to resolve conflict between jars files. But I still have no clues what jars file I need to change even I spent whole day for this minor task.

From the stack trace that doesn't look like a conflicting JAR issue it looks like there's a problem with
ssel.banking.domain.Account
Check there's not more than one field mapping to the 'name' column. Worth checking parent classes/sub classes as well for properties with the name 'name'.

For those who are using Java 6 (J2SE-1.6)
Remove jsr-303 (validation-api) from Maven
Include hibernate-validator like this

<groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate-validator</artifactId>
<version>4.2.0.Final</version>
</dependency>
Clean and build project
mvn clean install
I've found the solution. One important info that I didn't mention in the question is that I'm using Java 5, not Java 6. I found the answer from this URL: http://java.dzone.com/articles/using-hibernate-validator
At the bottom of the article, there are some extra libraries needed to include for Java 5. Now everything works fine.
If u use maven then set these dependency.it may be solve this problem

First u can download jar and comment your validator code it may be help u to diagnosis problem.
