I am new to spring development and I tried to add maven dependency for spring orm, in the pom.xml file it gives the following exception when the server starts. Also when I remove that dependency, the exception goes. Can you please tell me what is wrong with this.
Thanks.

Looks like something is wrong with the jar file. -- Delete it from your local m2. repository and maven will download it again. I hope this fixes the problem.

I'm building a basic web app using JSF and spring using IntelliJ IDEA. So I followed this post to config the IDEA with tomcat. But when I run the app, it takes too much time to build saying coping resources.(like 1/2 an hour) And when I make a change it takes much longer time. Strangest thing is, after the build, there are ~2GB files inside the target folder. And the same classes folders are recursively copied in to it. which means target\classes\classes\artifacts\java_test_war_exploded\WEB-INF\classes\target\classes\target\classes\target\m2e-wtp\web-resources\META-INF\maven\java_test\...etc. This goes to like infinity!
What is the problem here? Please someone help!
(sorry for my English)

I still couldn’t find a solution for this. So I just deleted the .idea directory from the project and reimported the project to IntelliJ. Then it worked!
I have faced this problem. At first check your project folder's size. If it is too large and it is not normal (my target folder was more than ~ 2 GB) , we have a same problem!
My mistake which caused this problem was that in intellij idea, I had refactored so many packages and changed folder's directions so many at the beginning of my project. My IDE confused and made a lot of same folders in each folder and continued it many many times! Like taking selfie in front of a mirror! what will happen to your pic? it will repeat infinitely.
my solution: create my project again as same as the previous one. but by taking care and not refactoring!
Just this!
I have follwing problem with war packaging in my pom xml: "Conflicting lifecycle mapping metadata (project packaging type="war"). To enable full functionality, remove the conflicting mapping and run Maven->Update Project Configuration." Even If I update project the problem still occurs. Everything was working good in this pome before I installed hibernate with problems:
Hibernate installation

I'm writing a blogging application in Java that is using Spring MVC and Spring Security. I've gotten Spring Security configured, but I'm running into an issue where my application cannot resolve any class in the org.springframework.security package. When I try to compile after importing anything from this package, I get the following error:
package org.springframework.security does not exist
Right now I'm trying to implement my own user service details class and I cannot import the UserServiceDetails interface as a result of this.
This is my pom.xml (please excuse the disorganization):

Is there anything obviously wrong with the pom that would result in there being a problem with importing anything in the org.springframework.security package?
I appreciate anyone's help!
Spring Security 3.2.0 relies on Spring Core 3.2.6. You're currently running core version 3.2.5.
You can check other dependencies for Spring Security here
In my pom.xml I am getting the following error. The reason why I have <version>2.0.3</version> is to use Spring 2 NTLM authentication.
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanDefinitionStoreException:

is java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:org.springframework.aop.config.AopNamespaceUtils.

If I add the below.

Edit 1
As per PSR's suggestion, the error occurs when the following dependency is added
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.security</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-security-core</artifactId>
<version>2.0.3</version>
</dependency>
The problem will come because of one of the dependency.Try to remove all dependencies first what you shown.Then try to add one by one then we can find out the problem where it is
Check for multiple version for spring jars in your class path. we have spring-dao and spring-tx in class path. removing spring-dao fixed issue.
