I/O failure during classpath scanning in spring MVC - java

Hi I am new to Spring and I am trying to do a simple spring mvc application which accepts values from customer form and displays the same in the same in the UI. Now the problem is when I try to publish the code in Jboss server I am getting the following error message:

I tried searching in google but could not find what is wrong. I have been breaking my head for this issue for almost 2 hours. Some one help!!
P.S: I am using maven.

There is :
<context:component-scan base-package="com.spring.customer.controller" />
and it seems you don't have such package in you application, but Spring is searching this package (so a directory) to find components.
Please verify that in binaries you have such package (or maybe you don't have this package at all?)

Http Status 404- the rest controller is not mapped corectly? [duplicate]

I am starting with Spring Framework and want to do a HelloWorld with annotatios, I've made it work creating a controller and a view, basic hello work I guess; however, I want to use annotatios since I can not use SimpleFormController any more (deprecated).
The error I am getting is Estado HTTP 404 - /av/index.jsp
I am using Netbeans and I am basing the example on the basic template It provides. I have the following files, I am pretty sure it is a missconfiguration but I can't find anything that would help me so far. Thanks in advance.

You are missing
<mvc:annotation-driven />
in your config dispatcher-servlet.xml

You mapped the path /index.do in your controller, so you have to access it with the following url: http://localhost/av/index.do

<mvc:annotation-driven/> will solve out your problem.

Spring bean placed inside application context is not working

I have worked with Spring annotations a bit, but never with spring xml. I have to create an application where all the beans are kept in applciationContext.xml file and not in xxx-dispather.xml. But when i place the beans inside xxx-dispatcher.xml i am able to hit the controller class and everything works fine, But when i place the same beans inside applciationContext.xml it does not work at all. All i get is 404 exception.

Can anyone please correct me where i have gone wrong.

Add the following:
<mvc:annotation-driven/>
<context:component-scan base-package=""/>//the package where your controller are located
This will let you just use the controller annotation to locate you controllers.

404 Error: "The requested resource /Controller is not available"

I have setup Spring MVC 3.0 & Hibernate on Apache Tomcat and got the application to launch without any errors.
However I’m available to route requests from my (welcome file) redirect.jsp to the home controller (/Home).
This is what is supposed to happen:
Welcome file redirect.jsp sends request using <%response.sendRedirect(/Home)%>
My home controller (/home) returns the view index which is in WEB-INF/views

However I’m getting a 404 Error,
The requested resource (/Home) is not available.
What I would actually like to do is to remove the redirect.jsp, have the application go to \Home controller on launch/startup, and the \Home controller returns the index view or any other view.

The first thing I noticed is that in your web.xml, you call your config location applicationContext.xml, but you later described it as application-context.xml. Make sure it is actually named applicationContext.xml. Also, you can remove the "Home" servlet from your web.xml; this will be handled by Spring through your dispatcherServlet. Finally, in your SimpleUrlHandlerMapping, you define the mapping to be index.html, but you need to also define Home if you want requests to Home to be handled by indexController. Hope that helps.

Stuck at Spring MVC tutorial for newbies

I am stuck on this Spring MVC tutorial for newbies:

I am the point 1.12 "Try out application". When I put in my address bar hello.htm it doesn't work, but hello.jsp works. But I guess point was somehow to hide this JSP extension.
I followed tutorial precisely.
What might I have done wrong?

I can see several differences. The file in the tutorial is called springapp-servlet.xml, not springsample-servlet.xml (see step 1.8), and it only contains one bean, the hello.htm bean. There is no mention of springsample-servlet.xml anywhere in the whole thing.

The tutorial tells you to place the file in the webapp root web/hello.jsp but you've told spring to look for it in /WEB-INF/jsp/hello.jsp Did you move the file into that folder? The fact that you can find it at /springsample/hello.jsp would indicate you did not.
