I have this empty test class
#RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class)
#ContextConfiguration
public class FindHandlerTest extends AbstractJUnit4SpringContextTests {
#Test
public void testContext() {
Assert.assertNotNull(applicationContext.getBean("findHandler"));
}
}
well when I try to run it I get always this error:

is placed in the same package like my Junit-class.
I realy dont know why I am unable to load that file?
Thx for your help
Because you have not specified the location and name of the your application context file(s) in #ContextConfiguration, Spring is looking at the default location and name (named after your class). You will need to either rename your application context file, or specify the location as follows:
#RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class)
#ContextConfiguration(locations={"/META-INF/spring/applicationContextTest.xml"})
public class FindHandlerTest extends AbstractJUnit4SpringContextTests {
}
Spring is looking for FindHandlerTest-context.xml. Change the config file name to:
FindHandlerTest-context.xml

Here is the code for my test case
#RunWith(SpringRunner.class)
#TestPropertySource(locations = { "classpath:application.yml" , "classpath:contract-test.properties"})
#SpringBootTest(webEnvironment = SpringBootTest.WebEnvironment.DEFINED_PORT, classes = {
TradeCaptureServiceApplication.class })
#ActiveProfiles({ "local" })
#TestInstance(TestInstance.Lifecycle.PER_CLASS)
#Slf4j
public class AgentContractTest extends AbstractTestNGSpringContextTests {
#Test
public void verifyAuthFail() {
}
}
Could you direct me on what could be the reason behind the issue as I didn't write anything under testcase
I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish. But it is quite possible you should replace: #RunWith(SpringRunner.class) with #RunWith(MockitoJUnitRunner.class)
What are you using: AbstractTestNGSpringContextTests for? I'm not sure what you're attempting to do.
Also, (without knowing context), you might not need:
#SpringBootTest(webEnvironment = SpringBootTest.WebEnvironment.DEFINED_PORT, classes = {
TradeCaptureServiceApplication.class })
#ActiveProfiles({ "local" })
#TestInstance(TestInstance.Lifecycle.PER_CLASS)
I'm working on a spring project and I'm trying to make integration test, but when I run the test the #ContextConfiguration(locations = {"file:src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/spring-servlet.xml"}) uses a .properties file for the datasource but it says that it can't find the .properties file in web-resources/META-INF because it always tries to look up in webapp/META-INF.
I'm using springframework 5.1.7 with java8, in the integration test I used #ContextConfiguration(locations = {"file:src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/spring-servlet.xml"}) to specify the application context file and in this file I try to specify the path to my .properties in the web-resources/META-INF, but when I run the test it can't find the file.
#RunWith(SpringRunner.class)
#ContextConfiguration(locations = {"file:src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/spring-servlet.xml"})
#WebAppConfiguration
public class OtrasAdicionalesControllerTest {

I'm trying to start working with a Spring project. It is a legacy project and supposed to be working.
When I try to pass the tests, it all comes down.
It always returns: IllegalStateException: Failed to load ApplicationContext
I don't know what the error could be but it is supposed to be working.
I am using a Tomcat 8.0 Server
Eclipse: Mars.2 Release (4.5.2)
Trace of one of the errors:

That is, your method config.PersistenceConfig.entityManagerFactory(PersistenceConfig.java:51) tries to look up a property hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto, whose value is defined by a placeholder that refers to itself.
I had some JUnit tests which were running fine. Recently they have stopped working, without any change being done to the code itself. I'm assuming that some change must have happened to my configuration settings somewhere, but I cannot figure out where the problem lies.
I have a test that looks like the one below:
#RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class)
#ContextConfiguration(locations="classpath:ApplicationContext.xml")
public class MyTests {
#Autowired
MyTestClass myClass
#Test
public void myFirstTest() {
// Test code
}
}
The directory structure looks like this
MyPackage
test
java
MyTests
resources
ApplicationContext.xml
The most confusing thing about all of this is that IntelliJ understands where the context is. It links to it in my code, I can see the annotation of the leaf and I can click it to bring up the correct application context, and next to the bean autowired annotation I can see the little bean icon and when I click it it takes me to the definition inside the application context. So I know that it's there and can be read. So why can JUnit not see it? What configuration have I managed to lose/change?
NOTE: I'm trying both debug/run test through IntelliJ.
EDIT: My specific error is:

Just try this:
#ContextConfiguration(locations="classpath:ApplicationContext.xml")
change to:
#ContextConfiguration(locations={"classpath:**/ApplicationContext.xml"})
I wanted to handle multiple environments using property-placeholder + spring.profiles.active. I'm setting my spring.profiles.active setting as VM parameter and my spring XML looks like as below:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context"
xmlns:aop="http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop"
xmlns:util="http://www.springframework.org/schema/util"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans
http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/context
http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-3.0.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop
http://www.springframework.org/schema/aop/spring-aop-3.0.xsd
http://www.springframework.org/schema/util http://www.springframework.org/schema/util/spring-util-3.0.xsd">
<bean class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer">
<property name="locations">
<list>
<value>classpath:rcwkstn-automation-framework${spring.profiles.active}.properties</value>
</list>
</property>
</bean>
I'm loading spring context using SpringJUnit4ClassRunner as below:
#RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class)
#ContextConfiguration(locations = {"classpath:rcwkstn-automation-framework.xml"})
The problem is that when I run my code I'm getting:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Failed to load ApplicationContext

it looks like ${spring.profiles.active} is not evaluated and treated as literal. Does anyone have idea what might be wrong here?
The bean PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer itself is used to specify the property files which need to be loaded so that place holders can be resolved from it. So obviously if you give a property place holder in that itself, it won't be loaded as the bean is not yet created and the properties are not yet loaded.
You either need to give the full name of the properties files as such or else, move all the properties files to a folder and loaded everything from that folder by giving *.properties(load all properties file).
Example:
<value>classpath:config.properties</value> // full file name
<value>file:///${CATALINA_HOME}/prop-folder/*.properties</value> // load all props
