IndexOutOfBounds Exception when using PDFBox PDFPagePanel - java

I'm trying to use PDFBox's PDFPagePanel to load PDF files into a Swing based eBook reader application.
PDDocument pdfDoc = PDDocument.load(file);
List<PDPage> pages = (List<PDPage>) pdfDoc.getDocumentCatalog().getAllPages();
PDFPagePanel panel = new PDFPagePanel();
panel.setPage(pages.get(0));
pdfDoc.close();

This in theory should work since the PDFPagePanel is just a JPanel and the file being opened appears to be read in properly as I can use the text stripper to extract text fine and get metadata. However whenever I run it, I get the following IndexOutOfBounds exception:

The page being put into the PDFPagePanel (pages.get(0)) definitely exists. I get the same error if I try using convertToImage() on a page as well. Any help is appreciated.


The problem is that pdfDoc was closed immediately after panel.setPage(). However, PDFPagePanel attempts to process the pdf stream only when the page is displayed. To overcome this exception make sure the document is available while it is still in use by PDFPagePanel. You may need to make the document a member variable since GC may collect it once the document leaves the scope which will trigger its closing.

Of course, you should be worried. A null pointer means that a variable that is supposed to contain something is empty and is used. Moreover it is in paintComponent function so it might reflect on the look and feel of the application.

error in setModel builder

I am implementing my own model from the TableModel interface. My problem is in the builder of my model. I pass as arguments an Object[][] like datas readed from the database and Object[] like headers readed from the database too.
In the tableModel interface i have an ArrayList where i keep the datas readed from DB.
How can i copy my Object[][] of two dimensions to my ArrayList.
In the following lines i show my code where you can see what i am doing.

In the code, as you can see, i have writen a System.out.println, to see if it is Reading from database, and aparently it is ok.

Your implementation of TableModel provides no means for the JTable to add itself as a listener to its model, as required by the TableModel interface. Instead, extend AbstractTableModel, which provides the requisite implementation. EnvTableTest is a basic example.
If this is not the problem, Please edit your question to include an sscce and stack trace that exhibits the problem you describe.

Java repaint region errors

This is my paint method:

Block is initialized into a 2d array. What is wrong?

Do not call g.dispose(); in the end. You are disposing the Graphics object to be used next time.
Since the object is not created by you, you don't need to dispose it.

This sort of error occurs due to one of the followings
You have forgotten to initialize some component.
You are trying to add components on the frame or panel which is not yet initialized.
Try to execute the code by Removing the followings
super.paint(g);
g.dispose();

Exception in JMenu

I've developed an application in Java..
The problem occuring with it is that after first click, if the user clicks on menu again then following exception occurs..
Since it is showing that source is unknown, it is not possible for me to debug it...
Can anyone help me with this ??

I'll assume that the first click is the one that displays the menu and the menu items. If the user then clicks on a menu item, and you get an exception, I would bet that you have not fully instantiated some of the menu item components associated with the menu.

Check the instantiation of your fonts. You need to use new Font(name, ...) somewhere.
