I've recently installed SONAR on a Vagrant box running UBUNTU.
Sonar service run fine, but when I try to run the sonar-runner I get an error related to jdbc connector.
I configured sonar to run with mysql database by changing the file "sonar-runner.properties":
sonar.jdbc.url=jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/sonar?seUnicode=true&characterEncoding=utf8
sonar.jdbc.username=sonar
sonar.jdbc.password=sonar
When trying to start sonar-runner i get the following output:
$ sudo sonar-runner start -e

ERROR:
ERROR: Re-run SonarQube Runner using the -X switch to enable full debug logging.
From my undertanding the jdbc driver is not found. I thought that during initalisation sonar-runner will get the required jar (like it does for other libraries).
I tried to "sudo apt-get install libmysql-java" but still get the same error message.
If that's the right thing to do (which I doubt) I should maybe add the jar to my classpath, but I'm don't know where that jar is actually downloaded and how to add it to the classpath.
Any idea on how to get that solved?
Thanks!!
I was looking at the wrong place!
Issue was not comming from the runner but from SONAR itself. I had to change de sonar config file '/opt/sonar' and restart it. In the setting page I now can see that sonar is running on mysql.
I'm facing a other issue with the runner, but it is not related to the issue above.
So basicaly make sure both SONAR and SONAR-RUNNER are configured to work with mysql.
I had the same issue. Issue was that mysql JDBC connector was not in my bash_profile.
So i add on .bash_profile :
export jdbc mysql connector to classpath
export CLASSPATH=${HOME}/sonar/mysql-connector-java-5.1.23/mysql-connector-java-5.1.23-bin.jar:$CLASSPATH
Hope it could help

I've also added sqljet.jar file in my /lib folder but that doesn't helped me. when I click on build and within some sort of time I am getting same error and build failed.
I am using Apache Tomcat 8 for Jenkins.
My project is starting correctly with GWT 2.7 and 2.8-beta1 in super dev mode
Unfortunately since 2.8-rc1 release it is not starting.
Looks like GWT project dependencies are not configured correctly.

When I add missing dependency to my project:
<dependency>
<groupId>colt</groupId>
<artifactId>colt</artifactId>
<version>1.2.0</version>
</dependency>
I'm getting different problem related with wrong jetty-server version (I have depoendencies to 8.1.19.v20160209 but looks like 9.x should be used):

Let me know if you have similar problems with latest GWT releases. I could try to guess versions of all dependencies that should be used but it is not a good apreach. This should be pre-configured.
UPDATE:
When I generate simple GWT project:
mvn archetype:generate -DarchetypeGroupId=org.codehaus.mojo -DarchetypeArtifactId=gwt-maven-plugin -DarchetypeVersion=2.8.0-rc3
and import it to Intelij then dependencies are correct. I have the same gwt-maven-plugin version. I re-generated project in IDE. What I'm missing ?
You should add this dependency to your pom.xml file : gwt-dev
(gwt-dev has all the dependencies needed)
If you create a new GWT 2.8.0 module, you can check that, that contains gwt-dev dependency in the pom file.
I am using Ubuntu Linux 15.10. A few days ago I cloned a small git project which is using Maven (I use version 3.3.3). After cloning I wanted to use the
mvn install
command to download all dependencies but an error occurred. Using the same command with the -X parameter shows the problem in detail:

I checked if my JAVA_HOME (/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-amd64/) is set correctly and deleted my ~/.keystore file. I generated a new one with the keytool -genkey command. Afterwards I reinstalled ca-certificates-java and ca-certificates. But nothing helps.
If I use the command
sudo update-ca-certificates
I get the following error:

It seems that there is an general problem with the keystore on my linux system. Maven install for this projects works on others systems.
Could anybody help me fixing this problem?
Many thanks.
I fixed the issue with by purging and reinstalling ca-certificates-java using the following commands:
sudo dpkg --purge --force-depends ca-certificates-java
sudo apt-get install ca-certificates-java
Maybe this could help anybody in a similar situation.
The solution given by #vivid works,if just in case that does work
If you did not change the file cacerts,you can update it simply by reinstalling your JDK or copying it from another installation.
After purging and reinstalling eclipse with dpkg (Ubuntu) there is an error throws there:
cat /home/sergiy/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.7.0_155965261/configuration/1337883707989.log

How to fix this issue? Thanks in advance!
The first recommendation is to NOT install Eclipse from any Linux package manager or software repository. Instead, just get it from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/. The builds that linux distro's install are often modified (mangled, some would say).
see https://askubuntu.com/a/695401/407641 for full instructions, ...
Highlights:
Don't sudo apt-get eclipse, that version is old!
Do download and install from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads
Do create a ~/Desktop/eclipse.desktop file. Note, the full path to the Desktop folder will be dependent upon your version of ubuntu.
