I need some help to replace all the single quotes in a string.
This is my string: The State of the water = 'ICE'
I want to remove the single quotes around ICE.
str = str.replaceAll("\'","");
Use this
String str = "The State of the water = 'ICE'";
str = str.replaceAll("'","");

Can any one help me with the Java equivalent of this?
wordCountRDD.saveAsNewAPIHadoopFile(outputFile,classOf[Text],classOf[IntWritable],classOf[TextOutputFormat[Text,IntWritable]])
I tried below : but it give me error at TextOutputFormat<>(Text,IntWritable) ..
wordCountRDD.saveAsNewAPIHadoopFile(
output,
Text.class,
IntWritable.class,
TextOutputFormat<>(Text,IntWritable)
context.hadoopConfiguration());
Here:
TextOutputFormat<>(Text,IntWritable)
You have to pass the class instead:
TextOutputFormat.class
But note: the java type system doesn't allow you to express something like. TextOutputFormat<Text,IntWritable>.class! See here for why that is.
From that point of view, TextOutputFormat.class seems to be your only option.

EditText entername = (EditText)findViewById(R.id.enter_name);
// this line convert it to String
String q =entername.getText().toString();
//why it is not working in this way ???
String d = (String) entername.getText();
The method getText() doesn't return a String, but an Editable.
Note that an Editable doesn't extend String, but it implements the CharSequence interface, so it can be used in many methods that accept CharSequence.
Because EditText#getText returns an Editable, not a String.

What I have:
String result = "<>hello<!><>Soumik<!><>Having a wonderful day?<!>";
What I need:
resultStrings = ["hello", "Soumik", "Having a wonderful day?"];
This regex should do the trick:
<[^>]*>([^<]+)<
Find all matches, and extract capturing group 1 from each.
Regex demo
How about that:
result = result.replace("<", "");
result = result.replace(">","";
resultStrings = result.split("!");
It's really simple.
I don't know other conditions so it may not be useful. Please add conditions so I can respond to it.

I want to display the first folder name from the path.
/mnt/sdcard/Videos/lk.jpeg, I want to display mnt string. in java
/mnt/sdcard/Videos/lk.jpeg--> **mnt**
You can split on / and use [1] element from result array.
You can either use regular expressions or you can use String.split(). Note that the split() result should be checked for live usage (e.g. if it has at least two elements).
String desired = "/mnt/sdcard/foo".split("/")[1];
String str = "/mnt/sdcard/Videos/lk.jpeg";
System.out.println(str.split("/")[1]);
Try this out. This is a poor question. But maybe the asker can be a newbie.
