Printscreen additional fields useradmin
How can I add some new User Properties to the CQ Users?
I found an solution but it don't work --> http://experience-aem.blogspot.ch/2014/01/aem-cq-56-extend-useradmin-add-new-user.html
I tried to manipulate in CRX the UserProperties.js with new Properties, I see them in useradmin but if I try to add the new propertie in Java Code (not via useradmin) I can save it without error, but the value is empty in useradmin.
And if I try to add some value via useradmin for the new propertie, all user gets the same value.
How can I add new User Properties, that I can set the Value via Java code like the standard properties.
user = userManager.createUser(username, password);
ValueFactory valueFactory = session.getValueFactory();
emailValue = valueFactory.createValue(email);
givennameValue = valueFactory.createValue(givenname);
nameValue = valueFactory.createValue(name);
//User class just accepts Value Object
user.setProperty("profile/" + UserProperties.EMAIL, emailValue);
user.setProperty("profile/" + UserProperties.FAMILY_NAME, nameValue);
user.setProperty("profile/" + UserProperties.GIVEN_NAME, givennameValue);
I found an solution.
Go to crx /libs/cq/security/widgets/source/widgets/security/UserProperties.js
add the fields you need in the items array of the user (Caution - there are items for user and items for groups in the same place)
in the loadRecord method of your JS, you have to add each new field to the "record" object
"items":[{
"xtype":"textfield",
"fieldLabel":CQ.I18n.getMessage("Mail"),
"anchor":"100%",
"vtype":"email",
"msgTarget":"under",
"name":"email"
},{
"xtype":"textfield",
"fieldLabel":CQ.I18n.getMessage("My Field"),
"anchor":"100%",
"msgTarget":"under",
"name":"myfield"
},{
"xtype":"textarea",
"fieldLabel":CQ.I18n.getMessage("About"),
"anchor":"100% -155",
"name":"aboutMe"
}],
loadRecord: function(rec) {
this.enableUserSaveButton(false);
this.enableGroupSaveButton(false);
var type = rec.get("type");
if (type=="user") {
this.activeForm = this.userForm;
this.hiddenForm = this.groupForm;
if (rec.id==CQ.security.UserProperties.ADMIN_ID) {
this.pwdButtons.each(function(bt) {bt.hide(); return true;} )
} else {
this.pwdButtons.each(function(bt) {bt.show(); return true;} )
}
} else {
this.activeForm = this.groupForm;
this.hiddenForm = this.userForm;
}
//is loading additional property from json and show it in formular
rec.data["myfield"] = rec.json["myfield"];
this.activeForm.getForm().loadRecord(rec);
In the java code you can then add the new properties via the "user" object to the new properties. Note that the properties are put into the subfolder "profile".
user.setProperty("profile/" + "myfield", myFieldValue);
Did you try the second approach, posted by "pedro" in the link you've posted?
It probably has to do with pushing the new field to the record:
http://experience-aem.blogspot.com/2014/01/aem-cq-56-extend-useradmin-add-new-user.html?showComment=1390804750445#c2823498719990547675
i hope this may helps you the file exist on http://[host name]:[port]/crx/de/index.jsp#/libs/cq/security/widgets/source/widgets/security/UserProperties.js
and you will have two major properties the first one is for the user this.userForm the other one is this.groupForm for groups.

I am using below code and it returns some information about "Filed Against"
attribute. But there I am not able to find attribute data. Please help
IAttribute someAttribute= workItemClient.findAttribute(projectAreaHandle, workItem.CATEGORY_PROPERTY, monitor);
Using below code to find out the work item by Id :
workItemClient = (IWorkItemClient) repo.getClientLibrary(IWorkItemClient.class);
int id = new Integer("339406").intValue();
IWorkItem workItem = workItemClient.findWorkItemById(id, IWorkItem.FULL_PROFILE, monitor);
using this work item I want to fetch parent and children like Epic and story work items related to the work item. And then there attributes like story status, story planned for etc.
From this thread:
You can't just put a string in there, I think.
You have to find the category object from the string and then put in the ICategory object.
That means:
private static String CATEGORY_NAME = "UI1";
List<ICategory> findCategories = workItemCommon.findCategories(projectArea, ICategory.FULL_PROFILE, monitor);
for(ICategory category : findCategories) {
if(category.getName().contains(CATEGORY_NAME)){
filedAgainstAttribute = QueryableAttributes.getFactory(IWorkItem.ITEM_TYPE).findAttribute(projectArea, IWorkItem.CATEGORY_PROPERTY, auditableClient, monitor);
filedAgainstExpression = new AttributeExpression(filedAgainstAttribute, AttributeOperation.EQUALS, category);
}
}
I'm trying to find my folder or view in my database. Which named Team Documents this folder has some filter option like By Date, By Category. But this returns me a null even the folder already exists.
String dbServer = "d23dbm95/23/A/IBM", dbFileName = "dbom\\farizan\\stsklb1.nsf";
public void runNotes()
{
Session session = null;
Database db = null;
View view = null;
Document doc = null;
try
{
NotesThread.sinitThread();
session = NotesFactory.createSession();
System.out.println("User = " + session.getUserName());
db = session.getDatabase(dbServer, dbFileName);
if(db.isOpen())
{
System.out.println("Title "+db.getTitle());
view = db.getView("Team Documents \\ By Date");
if(view == null)
{
System.out.println("still null");
}
}
}
catch(NotesException e)
{
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
I tried also to fill my getView() method like Team Documents. But still returns a null. Any approach to this problem?
While it would have been more helpful if you had included a link to a screenshot of your Domino Designer client's folder list, my best guess is that you have two folders, not one folder with "filter options". Also, my guess is that "Team Documents" is not actually a folder; it's just a prefix on the folder names that makes them appear to be nested in a parent folder.
If that's the case, you would need
iew = db.getView("Team Documents\\By Category");
Or
iew = db.getView("Team Documents\\By Date");
Note: No spaces before & after the backslashes.
If my assumptions above are not correct, then my suggestion would be to assign alias names to the folders in Domino Designer and use the aliases instead of the display names in your code. Frankly, that's always a good practice, because it allows your code to continue working even if you decide to change the display names.

What is a NullPointerException, and how do I fix it?

I have a little problem with Attributes. I am currently working on a project that parses emails from an LDAP server into the Java application that will be doing some interesting stuff with emails in the future.
I am currently having this code that takes emails from users on LDAP and it needs to put emails in the User class as seen in my code:
[some code here, TRY CATCH is also included]
LdapContext ctx = new InitialLdapContext(env, null);
ctx.setRequestControls(null);
NamingEnumeration<?> namingEnum2 = ctx.search("[path to the server]", "(objectClass=user)", getSimpleSearchControls());
System.out.println("Test: print emails from whole DIRECOTRY: \n");
while (namingEnum2.hasMore()) {
SearchResult result = (SearchResult) namingEnum2.next();
Attributes attrs = result.getAttributes();
System.out.println(attrs.get("mail"));
/** This line above works fine, but every time there is no email
in User info, it prints "null" in some cases when there is
no email, which is not perfect. But this is just here to see
if everything works and indeed it does.**/
/**User Class accepts a String parameter, checks if it's empty
and all that, does some checking and etc... BUT! attrs.get("mail")
is an Attribute, NOT a String. And I need to somehow "cast" this
attribute to a String, so I can work with it.**/
User user = new User(attrs.get("mail")); //error yet,because the parameter is not a String.
User user = new User(attrs.get("mail").toString());//gives an expeption.
/** And I know that there is a toString() method in Attribute Class,
but it doesn't work, it gives an "java.lang.NullPointerException"
exception when I use it as attrs.get("mail").toString() **/
}
Here is User class's constructor:
public User(String mail){
eMail = "NO EMAIL!";
if (mail != null && !mail.isEmpty()){
eMail = mail;
}
else
{
eMail = "NO EMAIL!";
}
}
try this
User user = new User(attrs.get("mail")!=null?attrs.get("mail").toString():null);
First you need to check that given attribute exists by using != null (e.g. using Objects.toString which does that inside, or manual if) check, and then use either toString on the Attribute, just like println does inside:
User user = new User(Objects.toString(attrs.get("mail")));
Or you can also use (to retrieve a single value in the attribute, if you have many you need to use getAll):
Object mail = null;
if (attrs.get("mail") != null) {
mail = attrs.get("mail").get();
}
User user = new User(mail.toString());
I'm trying to get the metadata for an asset in the DAM. However, it seems that the metadata comes back as empty for properties that don't have "dc:" in front of them.
Resource rs = getResourceResolver().getResource(fileReference);
Asset asset = rs.adaptTo(Asset.class);
//this works
title = asset.getMetadataValue("dc:title").toString();
//this does not work.
//I have ensured that "mine.title" is a property and has string value assigned to it.
customTitle = asset.getMetadataValue("mine.title").toString():
//this does not work either
customTitle = asset.getMetadata("mine.title").toString():
Is there a way to get the value from a custom metadata property?
Assets at the end are simple nodes, so to get some property you can do something like this (depending on actual path of variable fileReference):
Resource metadataResource = rs.getChild("jcr:content/metadata");
ValueMap properties = ResourceUtil.getValueMap(metadataResource);
customTitle = properties.get("mine.title", "defaultValue")
"dc:title" comes with a registered namespace "dc" (Dublin Core) whereas "mine.title" does not.
That's the reason of title = asset.getMetadataValue("dc:title").toString(); giving you proper value than customTitle = asset.getMetadataValue("mine.title").toString()
You can attack this problem in many ways.
Change the property name to "dc:myTitle" and retrieve it in the same way you are retrieving "dc:title" [0]
You can retrieve the value of "mine.title" in the way Alex has described.
Resource rs = getResourceResolver().getResource(fileReference + "/jcr:content/metadata");
ValueMap damAssetValueMap = damResource.adaptTo(ValueMap.class);
String shortName = damAssetValueMap.get("shortName", String.class);
Register a new namespace and define options (in your case , its "mine").
A look at "/libs/dam/nodetypes" and "/libs/dam/options/metadata" might be helpful.

I generated all required java classes from crm.dynamics.com/XRMServices/2011/Discovery.svc?wsdl and crm.dynamics.com/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc?wsdl schemas.
I authenticated in CRM with LiveId.
Now i need to create Product in Product Catalog. Here is code for this:
Entity newEntryInfo = new Entity();
AttributeCollection collection = new AttributeCollection();
addAttribute(collection, "name", "Tama Starclassic Performer");
addAttribute(collection, "productnumber", "1");
addAttribute(collection, "price", createMoney("100.0"));
addAttribute(collection, "isstockitem", Boolean.TRUE);
addAttribute(collection, "statuscode", 1);
newEntryInfo.setAttributes(collection);
newEntryInfo.setLogicalName("product");
Guid productGuid = serviceStub.create(newEntryInfo);
private void addAttribute(AttributeCollection collection, String key, Object value) {
KeyValuePairOfstringanyType values = new KeyValuePairOfstringanyType();
values.setKey(key);
values.setValue(value);
collection.addKeyValuePairOfstringanyType(values);
}
Execution shows error "The unit schedule id is missing."
Looks like i need to provide "Unit Group" and "Default Unit" for new product.
Question: How can i set those values? Should i use RelatedEntities (how create it) or Attributes (how create it)
As it is a lookup on the form, you should be able to set the value with an EntityReference.
Using your methods that would be:
addAttribute(collection, "fieldName", new EntityReference("entityName", new Guid("id"))
Where:
fieldName is the schema name of the field you want to populate
entityName is the schema name of the entity you want to populate the field with
id is the Guid of a record which is the same type as entityName.
To put that into a context (where I happen to know the schema names off the top of my head).
//Create a new contact first
Entity contact = new Entity("contact");
contact["lastname"] = "Wood";
Guid contactId = service.Create(contact);
//Create an incident/case which links to that new contact
Entity incident = new Entity("incident");
incident["customerid"] = new EntityReference("contact", contactId)
service.Create(incident)
As a side is there a particular reason you are using a such a long winded code style? The entity class has an index which links to underlying attribute dictionary. Its a bit more straight forward.
