hibernate error: There is no primary key for referenced table - java

I'm trying to automatically generate a table in Hibernate and I keep getting errors, the table that it refers too has a primary key defined so idk what the problem is.
Here's the stack trace

any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hibernate will not recreate a column if it already exists. The foods table in the database probably has the food_id column but not defined as a primary key (and may not match the Hibernate definition from the Java class).
You can manually alter the table like so:
ALTER TABLE foods ADD PRIMARY KEY (food_id);
Or try dropping the table and re-run your code.

How to load external configuration properties (DB Config) on Spring fat jar?

I am creating a service that runs automatically once the jar runs built with Spring. When the database configurations are written in the default application.properties, it can run normally and successfully done its tasks.
However, when I extract out the DB configs from there, and put them in app.properties which placed in the same folder as the fat jar, it returns this error:

This error pops when I execute the jar with the flag -Dspring.config.location=file:./app.properties, or when I put the spring.config.location and spring.config.name inside the default application.properties.
I ran the command to run jar with this:
java -jar .\fatjarapp-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar -Dspring.config.location=file:./app.properties
How can I execute this with DB config on external properties file while running spring fat jar??
Edit
I have been able to resolve the execution with the flag -Dspring.config.location or --spring.config.location, but I am still curious whether if I put the spring.config.location and its path inside the default application.properties, it would work or not.
Previously, I did not expect whether the position of the spring flags needed to be placed before the jar filename, but it seems to be like that. In the Windows Powershell, I need to wrap the whole flag and its attribute with the doublequotes (") as well, so it turns to be:
java -jar "-Dspring.config.location=file:./app.properties" .\fatjarapp-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar
And it runs normally and successfully as before.

Failed to create query method when using #IdClass composite primary key

I am attempting to create a simple existsBy query in a JPA repository using Spring Boot Data JPA. I am getting an error when Spring tries to create the method at runtime. existsBy seems to be the only type of query it is having trouble with. It can create findBy queries just fine. All Spring Boot dependencies in my application are using version 1.5.10.RELEASE.
Here I have a simple User class that uses an #IdClass for a composite primary key.
#Entity
#Table(name = "MASTER_USER")
#IdClass(UserPK.class)
public class User {
#Id
#Column(name = "USER_ID")
private String userId;
#Id
#Column(name = "TOS_ID")
private String tosId;
private boolean isCool;
// getters and setters
}
public class UserPk implements Serializable {
#Id
#Column(name = "USER_ID")
private String userId;
#Id
#Column(name = "TOS_ID")
private String tosId;
// getters and setters
}
Then in my User repository I want an existsByIsCool method to return true if there are any cool users.
#Repository
public interface UserRepository extends JpaRepository<User, UserPK> {
...
boolean existsByIsCool(boolean isCool);
}
Everything compiles fine, but I get the following error when running the application. Just for some stack trace context, this is inside of a Spring REST API that uses Spring Security.
org.springframework.beans.factory.UnsatisfiedDependencyException: Error creating bean with name 'myDaoAuthenticationProvider': Unsatisfied dependency expressed through field 'userDetailsService'; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.UnsatisfiedDependencyException: Error creating bean with name 'myUserDetailsService': Unsatisfied dependency expressed through field 'userRepository'; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'userRepository': Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Failed to create query method public abstract boolean com.acme.data.dao.UserRepository.existsByIsCool(boolean)! null

Hibernate #ManyToMany mapping gives Exception

So I have seen many questions similar to this, None seem to be similar to mine though.. So I am trying to understand Hibernate Mappings - (Stuck at ManyToMany) mapping.
So I want to make 3 tables, One with Student Detail, Second with Courses Offered and Third that stores students ID with respective course ID...
Here are the tables...
public class Student implements Serializable
{
/**
*
*/
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
#Column(name="st_id")
private Integer id;
#Column(name="name")
private String name;
#ManyToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL)
#JoinTable(name="StudentCourses", joinColumns = { #JoinColumn(name="st_id")}, inverseJoinColumns = { #JoinColumn(name="c_id")})
private HashSet<Course> courses = new HashSet<Course>();
// respective setter getters
}
The second class Course
public class Course implements Serializable
{
/**
*
*/
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
#Column(name="c_id")
private Integer c_id;
#Column(name="c_name")
private String c_name;
#Column(name="c_fee")
private String c_fee;
// respective setter and getters
}
Now when I try to add a Course, It gives me the following Exception.
Please let me know where I am going wrong.

Help would be much appreciated. Thank You.
This above code I was trying from the following Link
Try too use interface reference instead of implementation i.e
private Set<Course> courses = new HashSet<Course>();

Spring boot + MySQL Community Server

I have been working on an application that uses Spring boot + MySQL Community Server as database.
My issue is if i use compound names like offeredServices i get this error on my browser:
Whitelabel Error Page
This application has no explicit mapping for /error, so you are seeing this as a fallback.
Fri Aug 04 21:15:23 EEST 2017
There was an unexpected error (type=Internal Server Error, status=500).
could not extract ResultSet; SQL [n/a]; nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not extract ResultSet
data.sql
INSERT INTO test(name, offeredServices) VALUES
('Test 1','Test 1'),
('Test 2','Test 2');
DROP DATABASE IF EXISTS v;
CREATE DATABASE v;
USE v;
CREATE TABLE test (
id INT PRIMARY KEY auto_increment,
name VARCHAR(40),
serviceDescription VARCHAR(40)
);
But if i use short/simple name like nnnn it works
DROP DATABASE IF EXISTS v;
CREATE DATABASE v;
USE v;
CREATE TABLE test (
id INT PRIMARY KEY auto_increment,
name VARCHAR(40),
nnnn VARCHAR(40)
);
INSERT INTO test(name, nnnn) VALUES
('Test 1','Test 1'),
('Test 2','Test 2');
From my class in java:
#Entity
#Table(name = "test")
public class Test {
private int id;
private String nnnn;
public String getNnnn() {
return nnnn;
}
public void setNnnn(String nnnn) {
this.nnnn = nnnn;}

public class Test {
private int id;
private String offeredServices;
public String getOfferedServices() {
return offeredServices;
}
public void setOfferedServices(String offeredServices) {
this.offeredServices = offeredServices;}

I am not much with:
spring.jpa.show-sql=true
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=create-drop
Because it ignore my initial values.
Using spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=update gives the following error.

SQL [n/a]; nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not extract ResultSet
SQLGrammarException is an exception related to sql syntax errors, but it doesn't give to much information of the root cause.
I was trying to replicate the same error using the same attribute names and table names and I found this:
The Test table creation script is not related to the Test Java entity definition. There is a mismatch because test table create has a field called serviceDescription VARCHAR(40) but in the Test java class there is a totally diferent attribute name called offeredServices.
The create table script has a field called name VARCHAR(40) but in the Test Java entity definition there is no name attribute.
Now lets assume that we have both components related the Database Table and the Java Entity Class.
like this
Create Test table
DROP DATABASE IF EXISTS v;
CREATE DATABASE v CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_bin;
USE v;
CREATE TABLE test (
id INT PRIMARY KEY auto_increment,
name VARCHAR(40),
offeredServices VARCHAR(40)
);
Test java class
#Entity
#Table(name = "test")
public class Test {
#Id
#GeneratedValue
private int id;
private String name;
private String offeredServices;
public String getOfferedServices() {
return offeredServices;
}
public void setOfferedServices(String offeredServices) {
this.offeredServices = offeredServices;
}
public String getName() {
return name;
}
public void setName(String name) {
this.name = name;
}
}
data.sql
INSERT INTO test(name, offeredServices) VALUES
('Test 1','Test 1'),
('Test 2','Test 2');
Test repository
public interface TestRepository extends JpaRepository<Test,Integer> {}
Spring Boot Class
#SpringBootApplication
public class MysqlerrordemoApplication {
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(MysqlerrordemoApplication.class, args);
}
#Bean
public CommandLineRunner runner( TestRepository testRepository){
return (args) -> {
testRepository.findAll().forEach(System.out::println);
};
}
}
When I run the application I have got the following error:
SQL [n/a]; nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not extract ResultSet
Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Unknown column 'test0_.service_description' in 'field list'
This exception means that hibernate is converting the offeredServices attribute name (from camelCase) to offered_services column name (to SNAKE_CASE) because hibernate is using SpringNamingStrategy to generate table and column names.
To solve the problem just add a #Column(name="offeredservices") annotation to the offeredServices attribute. The #Column(name="offeredservices") annotation tells to hibernate that dont try to convert the camelCase attribute name to SNAKE_CASE, just keep column name in lowercase.
This is the final version of Test java class.
#Entity
#Table(name = "test")
public class Test {
#Id
#GeneratedValue
private int id;
private String name;
#Column(name="offeredservices")
private String offeredServices;
public String getOfferedServices() {
return offeredServices;
}
public void setOfferedServices(String offeredServices) {
this.offeredServices = offeredServices;
}
public String getName() {
return name;
}
public void setName(String name) {
this.name = name;
}
}
To get a very clear answer about this go to the this post spring-boot-jpa-column-name-annotation-ignored
Please also keep the spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto property to create-drop
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=create-drop

I have below lines in my application.properties file.
spring.data.mongodb.host=127.0.0.1
spring.data.mongodb.port=27017
spring.datasource.driverClassName=com.mongodb.Mongo
spring.data.mongodb.database=DigitalDiary
spring.data.mongodb.repositories.enabled=true
My Entity (Document), this class is in different package than main class.
#Document(collection = "blood_group_collection")
public class BloodGroup {
#Id
private String _id;
#Indexed(unique=true)
private String blood_group_type;
public BloodGroup(String blood_group_type) {
super();
this.blood_group_type = blood_group_type;
}
public String get_id() {
return _id;
}
public String getBlood_group_type() {
return blood_group_type;
}
public void setBlood_group_type(String blood_group_type) {
this.blood_group_type = blood_group_type;
}
}
My MongoRepository class. This is class is in different package than main class and entity (document) class.
public interface BloodGroupRepository extends MongoRepository<BloodGroup, String>{
}
I have #EnableMongoRepositories("com.awt.mongo.repository") in main class.
I am not able to find any solution. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
The exception was because of spring jpa. I removed spring-jpa dependency from pom.xml and it solved my problem. Thanks all for help and quick response.
I can see from your error that your data source is not correctly configured:
"Caused by: org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [javax.sql.DataSource]: Factory method 'dataSource' threw exception; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Cannot determine embedded database driver class for database type NONE. If you want an embedded database please put a supported one on the classpath."
I suspect the line that states:
spring.datasource.driverClassName=com.mongodb.Mongo
is wrong - this looks like a JDBC driver, but as MongoDB is a NoSQL database its driver doesn't conform to the same standards.
The spring documentation suggests the following properties for MongoDB:
spring.data.mongodb.host= # the db host
spring.data.mongodb.port=27017 # the connection port (defaults to 27107)
spring.data.mongodb.uri=mongodb://localhost/test # connection URL
spring.data.mongodb.database=
spring.data.mongodb.authentication-database=
spring.data.mongodb.grid-fs-database=
spring.data.mongodb.username=
spring.data.mongodb.password=
spring.data.mongodb.repositories.enabled=true # if spring data repository support is enabled
I removed the <version> tag in POM file, the problem fixed
I have added the following dependency
JDBC dependency
spring-jpa dependency
my issue was resolved when I removed both the dependency
