I ned to Close Navigation Drawer on application start. In order to do that. I followed instructions of the accepted answer from here.
Nothing happened and no errors in catlog.
Thanks in advance. :)
You have this condition
if (!mUserLearnedDrawer && !mFromSavedInstanceState) {
mDrawerLayout.openDrawer(mFragmentContainerView);
}
Which seems to be respected, so the drawer is open on start.

Process: I click on item in navigation drawer in Main activity and start new Activity, then if I click on back button or somehow restore my Main activity weird dim happens.
If I set ScrimColor of my DrawerLayout to TRANSPARENT, then animation looks normal. Otherwise I see at the end of Fade out animation a little blink (dim) from darker color to actual background (quite annoying).
If I start the same activity from normal button, the animation is good.
Do you know how to fix it?
Screen record: https://youtu.be/1A06wE1ebzQ
- Interesting thing was that while I was recording via KitKat record, sometimes the animation was looking good.

I made a new app, this time using the Android Studio's built-in Navigation Drawer Activity. In the Drawer Panel there are 3 fragments called Account / Friends / About. The thing is that when I open the app the first thing I see is the Account fragment. I want to change that, so the next time when I open the app I want to see a TabBar that contains 3 activities: Home / News / Images, like this:
The Navigation Drawer Panel:
And this is how I want to look when I press on the Account (fragment) from the Panel:

NOTE
I need it to work with activities & not with Fragments .
If you want your NavigationDrawer in all your activities you can launch from the NavigationDrawer, the best way to handle that is not to launch new Activity, but to replace Fragment.
Because if you launch a new Activity each time you'll need to implement your NavigationDrawer in all your subactivities. (easily doable with heritage though).
There is a nice tutorial here to play with "replace" Fragments with the NavigationDrawer :
http://manishkpr.webheavens.com/android-navigation-drawer-example-using-fragments/
I'm having some difficulties in building my first application on Android.
I've follow the tutorial from Google to make an app with a drawer it works but when I want to put something else than a picture it crash my app.
My layout appears correctly on my AVD device but when I put an onTouchListener i get a Java NullPointerException.
I suspect that it come from the fact that i don't use the good layout but I can't figure out why. Any idea ?
Thanks a lot !
It crashed on "b1.setOnTouchListener(touchListenerBouton);"

Add this line inside onCreate():
TxtResultat = (textView) findViewById(R.id.**your textview's id**);
You just created a reference of the class TextView but not allocating it memory, this is why you were receiving the error of NullPointerException
You initialize null to TxtResultat
TextView TxtResultat = null;
this below line give you null pointer exception because it intialize null
TxtResultat.setText("TEST")
Give a try to this:
OnTouchListener touchListenerBouton1 = new View.OnTouchListener()
{
#Override
public boolean onTouch(View v, MotionEvent event)
{
TxtResultat.setText("TEST");
return true;
}
};
b1 = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button1);
b1.setOnTouchListener(touchListenerBouton1);
Seems b1 is null or tourchListenerBouton is null. put a break point and initialize the one which is null.
I have had this problem for a while now. Eclipse shows error when I import the project into Eclipse.
It was showing me many errors before, but I managed to get rid of some. I don't know how to get rid of this errors.
