I'm having troubles with returning a JSONObject in Java Spring. I've been googling fanaticly but haven't found a solution yet.
I'm using Jackson's fasterxml but I still can't get my API to respond in JSON. I'll include the files which I think are necessary to help.
First off I'll show my pom.xml, in which I think the error origins. There might be a collision between Jackson and another dependency, but I can't seem to figure out which one.

Employees emp;

This is in a project I'm doing for an internship and every bit help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.
I ended up just using a POJO, which Spring converted to a JSON for me. It's not the same, but its a good workaround for my project.
Cheers!

I have also added "spring-boot-starter-data-jpa" dependency, but my error was not resolved, Anyone please help me with this, thank you.
My SpringBootTest annotation cannot be resolved to a type. There is the same question here but it seems that adding the dependency
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-test</artifactId>
<version>2.0.5.RELEASE</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
cannot do the trick. Whole problem is that I wanted to use #ContextConfiguration but it is deprecated and suggested way of doing things is using the #SpringBootTest(classes = MyMainClass.class)
After removing the <scope>, i was able to fix my problem
<!-- https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.springframework.boot/spring-boot-starter-test -->
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-test</artifactId>
<version>2.2.2.RELEASE</version>
<!-- <scope>test</scope> -->
</dependency>
Try to use the dependency 2.0.3. I am using this version now.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-test</artifactId>
<version>2.0.3.RELEASE</version>

hope it will solve the problem
I follow Spring Tips: Spring Cloud Gateway. But my gateway app doesn't create routes from the service register(Eureka). DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator constructor with 2 params. The gateway app it's not routing from Eureka server. I've been trying changing the versions in the pom.xml but I'm using the RELEASE.
The Application.java
#SpringBootApplication
public class GatewayApplication {
#Bean
DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator discoveryRoutes(DiscoveryClient dc, DiscoveryLocatorProperties dlp) {
return new DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator(dc, dlp);
}
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(GatewayApplication.class, args);
}
}
The constructor of the DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator is using now 2 params instead just 1 like in the Spring Tips: Spring Clou Gateway.
The application.property:
spring.application.name=gateway
server.port=8081
eureka.client.register-with-eureka=true

To let it works. You don't need to add the bean below, remove it
#Bean
DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator discoveryRoutes(DiscoveryClient dc, DiscoveryLocatorProperties dlp) {
return new DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator(dc, dlp);
}
In your application.properties, add these two lines to enable discovery client
spring.cloud.gateway.discovery.locator.enabled=true
spring.cloud.gateway.discovery.locator.lower-case-service-id=true
And it should work!
The constructor DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator(DiscoveryClient, DiscoveryLocatorProperties) is deprecated
I suggest you to use :
ReactiveDiscoveryClient instead of DiscroveryClient
#Bean
DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator discoveryRoutes(ReactiveDiscoveryClient rdc,
DiscoveryLocatorProperties dlp) {
return new DiscoveryClientRouteDefinitionLocator(rdc, dlp);
}
Other thing, you should rename your application.proporty to application.properities
In my spring starter project, I am trying to do API calls using the JPA. My pom.xml look like this:

When I try to run it is getting error as
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/fasterxml/jackson/databind/Module
spring-boot-starter-web already includes Jackson. You should not override the managed version, otherwise the versions can be different between different Jackson libraries, causing ClassNotFoundException.
Remove this from the pom:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.fasterxml.jackson.core</groupId>
<artifactId>jackson-core</artifactId>
<version>2.8.5</version>
</dependency>
and let the transitive dependency with the correct version be used.
Or when you add Jackson to your pom, just don't use any version number, since parent project dependency management already includes all jackson libraries with a consistent version.
Try 2 options :
<dependency>
<groupId>com.fasterxml.jackson.core</groupId>
<artifactId>jackson-core</artifactId>
<version>2.8.8</version>
or
<dependency>
<groupId>com.fasterxml.jackson.core</groupId>
<artifactId>jackson-core</artifactId>
<version>2.7.3</version>
If you are using SpringBoot you should know that Jackson is added by default. so remove to avoid conflicting versions and it should work.

with this one

</dependency>
then no compile-error shows up.
Question 1: How can I solve the Issue 1?
Question 2: What is the difference between hibernate-search-orm and hibernate-search-engine?
Question 3: Please advice me to solve the compile-error issue.
Thanks in advance.
Issue 1: Solved
Forgot to put spring.jpa.properties at the beginning.
Here is the complete one.
spring.jpa.properties.hibernate.search.default.directory_provider = filesystem
spring.jpa.properties.hibernate.search.default.indexBase = /var/lucene/indexes
Issue 2: Solved
Well, just replacing the version of hibernate-search-orm from 5.5.4.Final to 4.5.1.Final solved the issue.
The final dependency is
<dependency>
<groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
<artifactId>hibernate-search-orm</artifactId>
<version>4.5.1.Final</version>
</dependency>
