I have a spring boot reactive application generated from spring starter. It should use the Netty server by default but I can see that the tomcat has started on port 8080 in the console.
Below is my pom.xml
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-data-rest</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-webflux</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-devtools</artifactId>
<scope>runtime</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.projectlombok</groupId>
<artifactId>lombok</artifactId>
<optional>true</optional>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-test</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>io.projectreactor</groupId>
<artifactId>reactor-test</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
<build>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-maven-plugin</artifactId>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
I have choose some parts of pom.xml not entire pom.xml is included.
Below is the class for Spring-boot main app.
#SpringBootApplication
#EnableWebFlux
public class SpringWebFluxDemoApplication {
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(SpringWebFluxDemoApplication.class, args);
}
}
Is there anything else missing ? I think it should boot up with Netty only.
if you want netty instead as explained in documentation documentation
you've to exclude tomcat and include netty :
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-data-rest</artifactId>
<exclusions>
<!-- Exclude the Tomcat dependency -->
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-tomcat</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-webflux</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-test</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>io.projectreactor</groupId>
<artifactId>reactor-test</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
<build>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-maven-plugin</artifactId>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
I have followed this
https://docs.spring.io/spring-boot/docs/2.1.1.RELEASE/reference/html/howto-embedded-web-servers.html
and I have excluded tomcat dependencies, rebuild the project. it was up and running on netty.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-websocket</artifactId>
<version>5.1.2.RELEASE</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-websocket</artifactId>
<!-- Exclude the Tomcat dependency -->
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-tomcat</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>

I do not understand why this error happens and I have tried to remove scope variable as well. My project structure displays Maven:junit:4.12 so I cannot understand why it can't find the required dependency
When you're new to Spring Boot then let Spring Initializr create your pom.xml. It will create a working pom.xml.
I used a spring initializr project for creating a REST service (https://spring.io/guides/gs/intellij-idea/) and imported it in IntelliJ using Maven project.
That works fine. Unit tests run fine too.
Now, I added some code and imported another package (org.apache.zookeeper). IntelliJ does not seem to get that dependency. The compile error says (Error:(11, 28) java: package org.apache.zookeeper does not exist)
Moreover, I ensured that the pom.xml is updated and the effective POM as shown by Intellij lists the same package (scope - compile).
I checked that the Maven settings does not have anything odd, basically empty with the standard root tags.
Here is the POM -
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId>

I'm running a spring boot WebFlux application, normally the application run on top of a Netty Embedded server. Instead, i'm getting a tomcat instance running, i've tried to exclude tomcat from my pom and still getting the same problem.
So i would like to fix this by running Netty instead of Tomcat.
Here is my pom dependencies:
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-webflux</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>

As stated by Thomas, springfox doesn't support webflux.
I would recommend using the OpenApi implementation provided by springDoc instead of SpringFox which still provides the same UI, uses swagger 3 and also supports webflux.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springdoc</groupId>
<artifactId>springdoc-openapi-webflux-ui</artifactId>
<version>1.2.33</version>
</dependency>
Springfox version 2.9.2 does not have webflux support.
Springfox 3.0.0 that includes webflux support is available as a snapshot, but will soon be released.
You can read more about it here.

I try to learn using HTTPClient. But HttpClient client = HttpClient.newHttpClient(); does not work.
In IntelliJ I've updated my compiler to use Java version 12 and in the pom.xml I've set java.version property to 12.
After I write HTTPClient it gets import sun.net.www.http.HttpClient, and then newHttpClient() method does not work. For this method I need import java.net.http.HttpClient;
This is my pom.xml:
<properties>
<java.version>12</java.version>
</properties>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-thymeleaf</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>

<artifactId>commons-csv</artifactId>
<version>1.8</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-devtools</artifactId>
<scope>runtime</scope>
<optional>true</optional>

<dependency>

<groupId>org.junit.vintage</groupId>
<artifactId>junit-vintage-engine</artifactId>

</exclusions>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
<build>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-maven-plugin</artifactId>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
It works now. I installed java Version 13 on my comuter and edites in Project Structure
You should add this dependency to your POM.xml
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.httpcomponents</groupId>
<artifactId>httpclient</artifactId>
<version>$version</version>
</dependency>

Please help me to run web application as desktop with database. Please share your ideas if u have any better idea to run web application as desktop application.
