}
public static void main(String[] args) {
SpringApplication.run(StockMaintenanceSystemApplication.class, args);

Java eclipse does not recognize the import org.apache.poi package that is already imported with maven

I am trying to create an excel in java with apache poi, I am using spring boot and thymeleaf, I have already imported the dependencies in the pom.xml file and update it in my eclipse, the dependencies are in my project, when I run the command mvn clean install everything seems to be Okay, but when importing it to my java class, it can't find it, I already tried to change the version of the apache-poi library, but it didn't work. I leave here some reference data:
this is the class that I want to inport

What do you think is the problem? I really appreciate your help.
I will answer my own question in case someone finds it useful in the future:
I didn't know what
< scope > runtime < /scope >
meant, now I see that this scope indicates that dependency is not required for compilation, but for execution.It is in the runtime and test classpaths, but not the compile classpath.
so the solution was to just remove this tag.
you need not to add scope of dependencies of Apache POI.
check it from here
https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.apache.poi/poi-ooxml/4.1.2
I use them in gradle and their scope is compile time by default
https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.apache.poi/poi-ooxml/4.1.2

I have properties files with line
logging.file=/opt/tomcat/logs/payment-service.log
and expect for log file, but it does not work. All logs writing to catalina.out.
I thought it is problem with access to dir, but
sudo chmod 0777 ./
has no effect.
What is wrong with my project?
I found it.
I connect properties files with #PropertySource. It is problem.
https://docs.spring.io/spring-boot/docs/current/reference/html/boot-features-logging.html#boot-features-logging-file-output
The logging system is initialized early in the application lifecycle. Consequently, logging properties are not found in property files loaded through #PropertySource annotations.
Defining path and file name should work and also give access 777 to folder /opt/tomcat/logs
logging.file=payment-service.log
logging.path=/opt/tomcat/logs

Ensure that you have jasper and jstl in the list of dependencies:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.tomcat.embed</groupId>
<artifactId>tomcat-embed-jasper</artifactId>
<scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>javax.servlet</groupId>
<artifactId>jstl</artifactId>
</dependency>
Here is a working starter project - https://github.com/spring-projects/spring-boot/tree/master/spring-boot-samples/spring-boot-sample-web-jsp
OK. First thing first
Placing dynamic contents like JSP pages into static locations does not work.
In a war project, JSP pages are served from src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/.
In a Jar project, JSP pages cannot simply be served from webapp location or from src/main/resources/.
That's because of the limitation stated in boot ref docs.
So you can add dynamic pages at following location src/main/resources/META-INF/resources/
and property file
spring.mvc.view.prefix= /WEB-INF/views/
spring.mvc.view.suffix= .jsp
Refer this for more detail
Try this:
Move your .jsp file under this directory:
src/main/resources/META-INF/resources/WEB-INF/jsp/
And your application.properties should be like this: [No change from yours]
spring.mvc.view.prefix=/WEB-INF/jsp/
spring.mvc.view.suffix=.jsp
Do a clean package before you run
mvn clean package
java -jar path-to-jar
Also remove or comment scope from from tomcat-embed-jasper dependency
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.tomcat.embed</groupId>
<artifactId>tomcat-embed-jasper</artifactId>
<!--<scope>provided</scope>-->
</dependency>
Note: This won't work from Spring Boot 2.0.1 and above because of a hard coded file pattern in Tomcat was removed
Refer this for more detail

URI is not mapped with Controller in Spring REST

I am trying to build a REST API using Spring. The code gets compiled without any error. But when I hit the URI using POSTMAN I do not get any result. I checked and found that the controller is not mapping the request to the given URI. Here is my code:
APIController.java
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.*;
import java.text.ParseException;
#RestController
public class APIController {
APIService apiservice = new APIService();
#RequestMapping(value="/getPerson/{id}",method = RequestMethod.GET,headers="Accept=application/json")
public Person getPerson(#PathVariable #RequestBody int id) throws ParseException {
System.out.println("Inside get method");
Person person=apiservice.getPersonInfo(id);
return person;
}
