I'm trying to build my Spring boot project to a JAR file.in my project, I used a local MySQL database to store my data but now my project is finished and is ready to launch it on a Linux server but when I change the MySQL connection info from application.properties the maven cant package the project and I'm getting this error

This suggests that the Spring Boot Uber Jar is not being packaged as the test phase is failing in your Maven lifecycle. Generally speaking, the Boot Jar should be packaged/assembled before deploying to your server, thus you should have no concerns for tests failing.
If you are building this on a server for the propose of producing your Boot Jar artifact from there, then that suggests that the datasource configuration you have defined is not applicable or correct in that environment. You will either need to skip the tests requiring the local datasource, or provide a datasource that will allow your tests to succeed.
Spring Boot provides a robust configuration management system that can be adjusted based on environmental or even run by run contexts. In fact, you are already using it and are set to go with it based on your description that you are changing the application.properties file.
High level information is detailed here. In particular, note the section describing the order the property sources are evaluated, as that gives you the power you need to adapt the properties depending on your deployment situation.
There are many options for you to proceed with, but generally speaking I have my development teams configure the application.properties file built into the jar (from the main resource sourceset by default) to work on default development environments. Developers can also place an application.properties file in the working directory of their development environment to override these settings based on their development environments. Properties can also be provided in the same fashion on build systems, or servers. It also is convenient to define them via environment variables, or via profiles which can define a large set of them based on the active profiles configuration property. Large/expansive infrastructure can also benefit from Spring Cloud Config simplifying this management even greater.

UPDATE: I realized that the problem was related to using the environment variables. When I didn't use them, it worked fine. The situation is exactly the same as this post. I don't know if it is the best solution, but for now I have disabled the test, using #Disabled annotation.
Hi,
I have a Spring Boot application. When I run it locally, I can use the DB just fine. I am able to create entities using my api, they are correctly created on the DB.
But when I run the tests for the app, the following error appears:

I've tried different Hibernate versions but in all cases have gotten the same error.
Problem occurs when this statement is executed

I've stumbled upon the same problem and I found a similar solution.
I was using log4j-core 2.11.1 and got the same error when running the application from the jar. I've followed your solution and changed the verison to log4j-core 2.8.2.
After that I've still got an error, but this time it was a lack of dependeny: apparently it was missing one of the "com.fasterxml.jackson.core" package classes. So I've added the dependency (version 2.9.6) and now it's running.
Hope this helps some one because it was a very frustrating error.
After a great deal of trial and error I isolated the issue to some type of library conflict with log4j. Don't ask me what the exact problem was but changing the versions of one of the two made the problem go away. Did not have the time to perform any sort of detailed analysis on the underlying reason.
I changed my WildFly ports
8080 -> 8081
9990 -> 9991
And my server works perfect.
But when I try to deploy EXAMPLE app it tryes to connect 9990 port, but I do not see anything in it's pom which has default 9990 port.
Also I modifyed arquillian.xml to change managementPort:

I've found a solution, to help people that might have the same problem.
To read from MongoDB collection use
MapredMongoConfigUtil.setInputFormat(getConf(), com.mongodb.hadoop.mapred.MongoInputFormat.class);
instead of
MapredMongoConfigUtil.setInputFormat(getConf(), com.mongodb.hadoop.mapred.BSONFileInputFormat.class);
(that is the alternative to read directly from a the .bson files produced by mongodump) in the mapreduce configuration class (EnronMail.java).
I am facing issues while using enum in my J2EE application. I am using enum in a switch case inside my stateless service bean.
During runtime I see following exception on switch statement:

This issue has been extensively discussed on one of the thread on SO. But I do not see any solution mentioned to resolve this issue.
In my case I use JBOSS EAP6.1 server. JDK version is 1.7. Code is built using Maven in Eclipse IDE. And application is deployed as EAR archive. How do I add this extra generated class file in classpath inside my EAR archive? Is there any other way to resolve this issue?

I tried to build application from command line. Then this extra class file is generated. And I am able to deply and execute application successfully. It seems to be bug with eclipse then. Any idea how to resolve it?

I ran into a similar issue, and the easy workaround was to define the Enum as public instead of private.
(Didn't have time to verify, but my hunch is that this causes the class to not be created as Name$1.class but rather something like Name$Enumname.class, which seemed to be the problem)
In my case, to avoid that NoClassDefFoundError in the code line of the switch statement, the only solution i saw was to replace switch statement by "else if" statements:

I have a project configuration quite similar to yours: eclipse, Maven, JDK 1.6, JBoss EAP6.2, and I have the same problem with a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError when using an enum in a switch case.
I have found a workaround for it: generate an ear file (it is a war in my case) and install it manually from the JBoss administration console. I noticed the war includes the $1 needed classes and then you won't get the exception.
This is just a workaround, but it works for me. A good point of this workaround is that subsequent deployments done through eclipse work!
