Problem printing a data in thymeleaf template with Spring boot - java

I can't print a String on a thymeleaf template, which I pass from a Spring boot controller. It is a very basic example. When I running the project there seems to be no error. From the only method of the controller, I pass a String to print in the template, but it does not appear printed. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

After hanging around, I discovered that the problem was in the location of the application's 'main' file:
Notice that the 'main' file is inside the 'com.example.demo' package. Here is the problem. For it to work, the file 'main' must be in 'com.example'. I don't know why this happens, but that's how the code works for me.
It is in this location of the 'main' file, and here the code does work.

Deploy Springboot WAR to Tomcat 8.5 shows blank page

I can deploy / undeploy the Springboot WAR package to Tomcat 8.5 successfully using the tomcat manager,
but when I try to open the webpage it shows only blank white page.
what do I miss?

I've already trid to remove the context path and rebuild it again, but it still the same.

Apparently I must append this dependency in POM.xml

Java JSP controller connection

When I was adding JSP to my web service project I had some issues. I wanted to connect controller method printing welcome on a page to JSP file and it does not work.

Go to STS or eclipse marketplace and install https://download.eclipse.org/m2e-wtp/releases/1.4/
Install m2e connector and clean and install then it will work.

Error in rendering jsp page using Spring boot?

I am trying to render a jsp page from my controller but I find this strange thing happening. When I run the application, it displays the actual html code of the page instead of displaying the view. This is quite strange what could I be doing wrong. So,it basically the whole html code of the welcome page is being displayed when I run my application.

You have multiple things that you need to do:
add in your application.properties this (presuming you have your jsp in src/webapp/WEB-INF/jsp)
spring.mvc.view.prefix=/WEB-INF/jsp/
spring.mvc.view.suffix=.jsp
Try putting tomcat-embed-jasper with <scope>compile</scope>

<scope>compile</scope>

There seems to be a bug, at least in IntelliJ, if you run it with <scope>provided</scope> it will not recognize the jsps. If you run with maven (mvn spring-boot:run) it runs fine regardless of the scope
