An aspect should not be its own configuration class because the configuration is for the whole application. Use a separate class for #Configuration and let the #Aspect just be an aspect (and also make the aspect a #Component). Under the hood, proxying for configurations works differently from AOP proxies in Spring. If you are interested in the technical details, read my answer here.

Testing EJB with Arquillian I get "Please include at least 1 Deployable Container on your Classpath."

I'm trying to test the following bean with Arquillian, but get an error saying that cannot find a deployable container:
import javax.ejb.Stateless;
#Stateless
public class MyBean {
public int add1(int x) {
return x + 1;
}
}
The test class:
import javax.inject.Inject;
import org.jboss.arquillian.container.test.api.Deployment;
import org.jboss.arquillian.junit.Arquillian;
import org.jboss.shrinkwrap.api.ShrinkWrap;
import org.jboss.shrinkwrap.api.asset.EmptyAsset;
import org.jboss.shrinkwrap.api.spec.JavaArchive;
import org.junit.Assert;
import org.junit.Test;
import org.junit.runner.RunWith;
#RunWith(Arquillian.class)
public class MySimpleBeanTest {
#Inject
private MyBean bean;
#Deployment
public static JavaArchive createDeployment() {
return ShrinkWrap.create(JavaArchive.class)
.addClass(MyBean.class)
.addAsManifestResource(EmptyAsset.INSTANCE, "beans.xml");
}
#Test
public void readManyTest() {
int x = bean.add1(2);
Assert.assertEquals(x, 3);
}
}

I'm using JDK 15, Eclipse 2022-06 and Wildfly 26.0.1. When I run the test, I get:
org.jboss.arquillian.container.test.impl.client.deployment.ValidationException:
DeploymentScenario contains a target (DEFAULT) not matching any
defined Container in the registry. Please include at least 1
Deployable Container on your Classpath. at
org.jboss.arquillian.container.test.impl.client.deployment.DeploymentGenerator.throwNoContainerFound(DeploymentGenerator.java:244)
How to fix this?
I was not able to make progress with arquillian. but i found a solution that works also with java 17 using openejb.

Spring boot application returns 404 without entering controller class

Spring boot application returns 404 Not found error when calling API endpoints without even entering the controller class
I have gone through the possible solutions which can be found on the StackOverflow
possible solutions I have tested
added and removed #RequestMapping at the class level
tested with both
GetMapping("/get")
and
RequestMapping("/get")
and even with
GetMapping(value = "/get")
added #ComponentScan even when my folder structure is as per the guidelines.
tried with ResponseEntity<Object> and #RequestBody Annotation
I've tried almost all of the solutions I got from various platforms. Spring boot application API endpoints should call the corresponding methods based on their paths configured. But in my application, it throws an error with '404 Not Found' when any endpoint called. It seems the endpoints are not registered in the spring application

I've found a solution for my problem without even understanding it.
Anyway, it started working when I assigned a separate path for each and every method.
In my previous code, I have assigned the same path value for different HTTP methods(GET, POST, PUT, etc.). I have done this before, but I never got this error ever. Im trying to understand the cause of this error.
thanks for your suggestion

SpringJUnit4ClassRunner and #ContextConfiguration not found

First of all I don't use SpringBoot, it is pure old Spring application. I was thinking about adding some test for learning purposes so I need to mock/setup application context somehow. I am trying to implement such code:
#RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class)
#ContextConfiguration(classes = WebConfig.class)
public class SimpleTest {
#Autowired
private WebApplicationContext webAppContext;
...
}
But these imports cannot be resolved:
import org.springframework.test.context.junit4.SpringJUnit4ClassRunner;
import org.springframework.test.context.ContextConfiguration;

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.glassfish.jersey.client.ClientRequest.getLengthLong()J

I am using arquillian to do integration tests against a Restful java API, these tests are executed using #RunAsClient annotation, the application is deployed on Wildfly 9.
The application tests were working but suddenly brake.
I am getting this error:
javax.ws.rs.ProcessingException: org.glassfish.jersey.client.ClientRequest.getLengthLong()J
that seems to be caused by this one:
Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.glassfish.jersey.client.ClientRequest.getLengthLong()J
A piece of code:
#RunAsClient
#RunWith(Arquillian.class)
public class AuthTest extends AbstractBlackBoxIntegrationTest {
private static final String AUTH_URI = API_VERSION + "/auth";
#Test
#InSequence
public void testLoginAsValidUser(#ArquillianResource URL baseURI) {
WebTarget target = client.target(baseURI.toString()).path(AUTH_URI);
Response response = target.request(MediaType.APPLICATION_JSON)
.post(Entity.entity(getStudentRegularCredentials(), MediaType.APPLICATION_JSON));
assertOk(response);
response.close();
}
}

They've recently updated glassfish code and removed the ClientRequest.getLengthLong() and updated HttpUrlConnection code https://github.com/jersey/jersey/commit/4275389f727813aba883a7898f74948b8528018c.
If you update your
<dependency>
<groupId>org.glassfish.jersey.media</groupId>
<artifactId>jersey-media-json-jackson</artifactId>
<version>2.22</version>
</dependency>
to most recent version (or do <version>[2.22,3.0)</version>) that should fix all your issues.

Unresolved compilation problems when generating WAR file using maven [closed]

When I generate my WAR file using mvn clean install , some classes throw the following error msg:
public Person deletePers(String paramString1, String paramString2) {
throw new Error("Unresolved compilation problems: \n\tTransactional cannot be resolved to a type\n.......; }
But if I generate my WAR file in Eclipse (file > export as War File), I don't get the above error. Anyone know how to solve this?

Problem Part:
This is happening because eclipse is using its own compiler.
Eclipse has implemented its own compiler called as Eclipse Compiler for Java (ECJ).
It is different from the javac, the compiler that is shipped with Sun JDK. One notable difference is that the Eclipse compiler lets you run code that didn't actually properly compile.
If the block of code with the error is never ran, your program will run fine. Otherwise, it will throw an exception indicating that you tried to run code that doesn't compile.
Another difference is that the Eclipse compiler allows for incremental builds from within the Eclipse IDE, that is, all code is compiled as soon as you finish typing.
=============================
Solution Part:
Unfortunately,there is no quick way in Eclipse to switch to Javac (from Sun /Oracle). You cannot simply choose javac from a dropdown or similar in eclipse.
FYi: But this is very simple in IntelliJ IDEA.
But, you can achieve this using Ant tasks or External Tools Configuration.
Both the above approaches are clearly explained in this SO answers.
