Cannot resolve spring annotations in intellij idea - java

I downloaded jdk 11, and maven 3.6.3 and Itellj Idea and Import a project:
mvn clean install
But I always get this error:
Cannot resolve symbol 'SpringBootApplication'

I tried to delete the .idea folder or "invalid cache and restart" but nor the first neither the second approach fixed the problem.
There is a similar question Cannot resolve symbol SpringApplication but the answer didn't resolve my issue. how can I fix that?


Running the following command solved for me this issue :
mvn idea:idea


I fixed this issue by downgrading the maven version.


you seem to use Spring Boot version 1.0.1, #SpringBootApplication annotation was introduced in 1.2


You are not using SpringBoot parent but your own, you need to add dependency:

Deploy Springboot WAR to Tomcat 8.5 shows blank page

I can deploy / undeploy the Springboot WAR package to Tomcat 8.5 successfully using the tomcat manager,
but when I try to open the webpage it shows only blank white page.

I've already trid to remove the context path and rebuild it again, but it still the same.

I'm new to Maven and I'm adding some dependencies to my pom.xml file, but a couple of the dependencies I added keep saying something along the lines of:

not found
Does this mean that this package no longer exists? Or, it's not found within my project? Do I need to add some jar file to my source path? Any help/comment is appreciated.

The error seemed to have been resolved by simply refreshing Maven Changes. Once you're done editing your dependencies, this icon will appear to 'Load Maven Changes' which will install your packages.

I have an issue when i try to fix my code. I keep getting issue when I reload maven/reimport maven

The error is "Cannot resolve commons-collections:commons-collections:2.1"
It has nothing to do with "commons-validator" dependency.
The commons collection artifact has moved to a different location in maven artifactory.

The import org.springframework.mail cannot be resolved

I was trying sending email in spring boot , however the import statement always says can't resolved.
Tried browsing the articles and blogs but they have exact same import as i have and it still doesn't work to me.
I simply can't figure out what is wrong with my code or dependency [ pom.xml file]

Can you try changing spring boot version?
try setting it to 2.1.3.RELEASE(i have given version and JavaMailSender works just fine) for example and check again.

Forgot to put spring.jpa.properties at the beginning.
Here is the complete one.

Well, just replacing the version of hibernate-search-orm from 5.5.4.Final to 4.5.1.Final solved the issue.
