Container startup failed with Spring Boot

I am getting the following error when trying to run a bare minimum test to see that spring boot starts up properly:

I only get this error on my local machine, my OS is Ubuntu 22.10, Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.0.1

This issue all started when I upgraded my OS version to Ubuntu 22.10 and it was related to the version of docker I had installed. Removing the old version and installing the latest version go it working for me, by following this: https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/ubuntu

Why does TestRestTemplate throw RestClientException when original Rest method threw an exception

I am trying to test REST code that throws an Exception via #ControllerAdvice. However, my Junit test seems to throw a RestClientException when it attempts to convert the Response.
Prior to introducing protobuf for my DTO my test worked correctly.
With a breakpoint I can see the exception is being thrown successfully from this code.

Your problems stems from the wrong way you do your mocks. In your code you do the following:
#Mock
private AzureCloudStorageService azureCloudStorageService;
Which effectively returns a mocked instance of AzureCloudStorageService. This is not what you want and need for this case, as this is what you need to test (i.e the unit under test). What you need to do though is to manually instantiate the AzureCloudStorageService by calling its constructor and passing in the mocked ModelMapper as well as PropertyResolver.

Instead of

private ModelMapper modelMapper;
Use into the method or in #Before method:
ModelMapper modelMapper = Mockito.mock(ModelMapper.class);

Spring Boot SOAP WebService Integration Test with BasicAuth

I have a SpringBoot SOAP WebService annotated with #RolesAllowed("SOME_ROLE"). The production code works correct, i.e. if I send a SOAP-Request with the header "Authorization: Basic ENCODED_USERNAME_PASSWORD", service pass, if this header is not provided, then 401 comes back.
The problem is with Integration Tests. Below is a code snippet:

How to mock objects from other classes created during InjectMocks?

I want to test my saveEmployee method but the problem is during #InjectMocks, constructor of EmployeeBase class is called and fetchEmployees() method is called. This method aim is to fetch data from database to employees List in the EmployeeBase class. The problem is this method use fields from Constants class and I am getting following result when I run the program. How to mock it properly?
