Hi I am working on a legacy project where it is not possible to implement java based config because all the other beans are configured using XML based config. I want to know if there is a way to configure Jobrunr using XML based config. Thanks

I want to replace Basic Authentication for Spring Cloud Config Server with oAuth implementation. Let's leave Config Server alone for now and focus on changes for Config Client. Obviously I don't want to write my own implementation for whole thing, but instead execute my own logic and fallback on standard Config Client. Also I have to pack my changes into library since I will use it in multiple micro-services.
Long story short I want to achieve following:
1a. Create custom Starter which will contain Spring Cloud Config Client as dependency. Is it even doable or necessary?
or
1b. Create custom Starter with only my custom logic which will be executed before Spring Cloud Config Client. In this case each micro-service will have Spring Cloud Config Client and custom Starter as dependencies. How can I manage execution order and inject custom logic results into Config Client?
2.Introduce new bootstrap settings. e.g. spring.cloud.config.custom.username and spring.cloud.config.custom.password (Optional).
3.Introduce custom annotation for custom Starter. e.g. #enableCustomConfigClient (Optional).
I started with building custom Starter with following code in /resources/META-INF/spring.factories:
# Bootstrap components
org.springframework.cloud.bootstrap.BootstrapConfiguration=\
com.example.greeter.config.ConfigClientBootstrapConfiguration
But this code invoked after profile is set, not the first thing like Config Client does.
Any suggestions and especially code samples are appreciated. Thanks!
Posting approach I chose for future reference.
Create new package which will be executed on top of / before Spring Cloud Config Client. Two main features here:
Create file src/main/resources/META-INF/spring.factories with org.springframework.cloud.bootstrap.BootstrapConfiguration={YOUR_CLASS}
In {YOUR_CLASS} apply custom logic. Don't forget to use #org.springframework.core.annotation.Order({YOUR_PRECEDENCE}) and fact that Ordered.LOWEST_PRECEDENCE will be executed first
Build jar from previous step and include it into your project (as local file or via artifactory)
Add Custom logic to Spring Cloud Config Server so it can use JWT.

I've been using an embedded neo4j server in my project so far.
Now I want to try out the new bolt protocol with a standalone server, however only for my deployed application. For convenience, I still want to use an embedded database when running from IDE (permanent) or when running tests (impermanent).
In order to support this, I've migrated from the java based configuration to the use of a ogm.properties file. Depending on the environment I run in, I want to use the file which configures the respective driver/database location.
I have placed a default configuration in the root of my resources folder. However I am not able to "override" this in other environment.
In order to do that I placed a different ogm.properties in the root folder of the deployed application. This doesn't seem to work. This the mechanism that I previously already used in order to have different application.properties and logback.xml configurations.
Is this not supported by neo4j-ogm? If not, how can one achieve this? It also isn't (trivially) possible with the java based configuration.
I am a bit confused, since this doesn't sound like such an unlikely requirement...
You can use Spring Profile for this to configure different properties for different environments and you can look here.
You can use application.properties (spring.profiles.active) to load a different profile or by using a runtime argument if you are using Spring boot with CommandLineRunner.

I am trying to have separate property files for prod and dev environment.
I have two property files application-prod.properties, application-dev.properties placed in classpath:/config
I added VM option -Dspring.profiles.active=dev
According to what I understand from the documentation and many other references on the web, on accessing Spring Environment as environment.getProperty("") the property in "application-dev.properties" should be loaded. However, I am getting null and as it seems the property files are not read by Spring.
I also tried defining both the files in #PropertySource. Doing this, the file defined second is picked up and the corresponding property is returned. Spring is not choosing the file based on the active profile.
Am I missing something?

Right, so documentation you are pointing to is from Spring Boot project. That is not the same as Spring Framework. If you are not using Spring Boot, -Dspring.profiles.active=dev wouldn't work.
You have two options:
Introduce Spring Boot to your project ans turn on auto-configuration (#SpringBootApplication or #EnableAutoConfiguration).
Use plain Spring Framework features like PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer, but it doesn't give you same flexibility as Spring Boot features and you will need to create some boilerplate code to handle various envs.
I've developed a webservice using DropWizard framework.
The database configuration file for it is config.yml.
Is there any other way to provide the configuration details?
I do now want to use config.yml file in my code. Is it an option ?

You could always create your own DataSourceFactory and populate it from another configuration source (or in the code, which I would not recommend):
