The thing I am doing is displaying Jasper Report in an JApplet in web browser. Eeverything is working fine except two.
The detail section of my report is not showing up in the applet. I'm sure that there is no issue with the report filling as the values of query fields put in other sections like page header are showing up. Only the detail section is missing. Can anyone give some idae about the cause?
The SAVE button of the JR Viewer in the applet is not working. Any comments?
About the first question, the Detail section (unlike other sections) is related to the Data Query of the entire report. So you should make sure the report query is returning at least one record for the Detail section to appear.
Suggestion, you can export your report to PDF and open it using the browser, I believe this would be better than loading an Applet each time.

I can't pdf report in netbeans with hibernate connection. I have a jsp page and a submit button which is supposed to read the database with hibernate connection and create pdf report for that. I can handle manually without any problem with jasper reports, ireport etc. So I can see what I want, but I want to do so that when I click on the submit button, it dynamically reads database and then converts the jrxml file to pdf. Also, I don't want it to use beans. Just a simple pdf creation with hibernate. Is that possible? Can anyone help me out with that?
Firstly If you write code or error more accurately we can answer. What is version of hibernate?I tried it with hibernate 3.8 but doesn't work cause jasper report's authors explained thus "We are currently supporting Hibernate 3.3.2.GA. Same version as JasperReports and JasperReports Server. There is also a dedicated library that you can add for compiling code in the "Build Path" preference page.
Unfortunately we currently don't support the co-existence of multiple Hibernate versions.
We will probably work on this in the nearly future." http://community.jaspersoft.com/jaspersoft-studio/issues/3802
Otherwise you can follow these steps;

Today I want to know how to get image URL from webSite,
I already read some questions and answers but they're not quite perfect for me.
The problem is, when I enter the site, there are some images. It's pretty easy that I get image URl by UI, But, it's really hard that I get image URL by Java Servlet and jsp. Sometimes, some image url is in only networks!
For example, http://map.daum.net/ <-- this site.
Enter the site, and see 'RoadView'. When you see Codes in Chrome(F12), there are no image sources in jsp codes. Only you can see in Networks!
How can I get image URL(source)? Is it possible?
ps. I can get image source using mouse and right click, but I want to get image source using java automatically :), so please do not write user's perspective.
ps2. I'm not very well using English, so there are so many mistakes and something like rude. I apologize for that.
So, what you want to do is to scrape a dynamic content of the page to extract some dynamically loaded data (an image url) from it. You did not tell us what programming language or environment you want to use. However, similar questions have been asked before, for instance this one: How to scrape ajax loaded content with jsoup. There are two frameworks named in the answers to this question: PhantomJS and CasperJS. Both are JavaScript frameworks.
I have a form with 100's of fields along with radio and check-box. What will be the best way to create PDF from it. Here is the link to my form 'http://182.71.22.42/ccs/'. I have used 'JSPDF' library but it just prints text only in PDF not any input field. I have also tried 'TCPDF' but I don't know how to show check-box and radio buttons and also I have to do css for 'TCPDF' also. Because TCPDF does not pick any HTML form css..
Please help me with this. Thanks in advance.
I like pdftk (PDF Tool Kit). It's fairly easy to use. There is a GUI, but there's also a command line tool -- which is obviously what you'll want to use. You'll install the pdftk program on your server, and run it from your PHP script.
PDFTK General Tutorial
Firstly, a blank PDF file should reside on your server. The empty fields should be labeled such that you can reference them.
When a user inputs information via your form, the data should be sanitized and inserted into an FDF (Forms Document File).
Once you have your FDF completed, in your PHP script, run:
exec('pdftk blank.pdf fill_form new.fdf output finished.pdf');
Where blank.pdf is the empty PDF, new.fdf is the FDF you just created, and finished.pdf is the name of the file you want pdftk to create for you.
Thanks for your replies .I found solution in TCPDF to show checkboxes. Just use different images, one for checked checkbox and other for unchecked
I would like to create a report that has the following layout:
It has three parts as you can see. The third part is a subreport done as a list, that is the easy part! My question is this: is there a better way of doing the first two parts than drawing boxes and lines in element groups and doing crazy calculations with positioning them? (I am talking about the .jrxml)
Try using iReport. It is a gui application for designing jasper reports.
You can drag and drop text fields and other report elements, so you don't have to worry about positioning.
I have had several problems using the .jrxml gerenated by iReport, but finally I have found an artikle that explains how to use iReport. It also explains how to fill the report.
I have had problems since I was using a manually written .jrxml, which had to be compiled and filled. Now based on the code in the artikel I am not using .jrxml anymore, but the .jasper file compiled by the iReport and everything works like a charm.
Our invoicing system needs to print OMR (optical mark recognition) symbol on each page of our invoices so the folding machine knows what to put in the envelope, so that little PNG picture has to be put on each page.
Our invoice is consisted of main report with two subreports created in special .jrxml files. Picture is generated by calling web service with passing page number as a parameter in http request. So, we need to incorporate picture into subreport hoping that subreport will 'know' actual page number when generating document. Error we are getting is:
Error filling print... Could not resolved style(s): pdf

We are using JasperReports 3.0.0 - migration to newer version requires lot of changes, so that's for now out of option, in case we need to go to newer version.
solved with putting picture onto band called 'background' of main report. Picture is being shown regularly on each page once.
There is a great application called Mail Markup that will put OMR marks on any document you like. It allows you to configure the OMR marks to your requirements so it is compatible with any folder inserter. You can find out more and download an evaluation here
