Java - Applet Exception - java

I have a Java project that contains 1 JApplet.
I'm able to run the Applet in desk-top mode (adding the applet to a frame in main[] method).
It doesn't work in a browser though. Getting this error:
I already signed all the jars.
I believe its related to mysql connector jar.
Any ideas?
Exception occurred: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError (uncaught)"thread=AWT-
EventQueue-1", java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(), line=156 bci=152
It runs fine if I add grant all to java.policy

You should ensure:
That your applet is signed to allow for database connections.
That your mysql connector jar is available on your 'download' path just like your applet jar file.

Running the application from a webserver solved the issue.

Confluence configuration Spring Application context has not been set

I tried to install confluence on my own ubuntu server, but always failed. The error is:
com.atlassian.util.concurrent.LazyReference$InitializationException: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Spring Application context has not been set
at com.atlassian.util.concurrent.LazyReference.getInterruptibly(LazyReference.java:149)
caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Spring Application context has not been set
at com.atlassian.spring.container.SpringContainerContext.getComponent(SpringContainerContext.java:48)
I saw some solutions in the jira confluence forum saying try to fix the permission of installed directory and home directory. I tried but failed again. How can I fix the problem.
In my case the issue was corrupted confluence.cfg.xml file (contains DB connection stings and other settings). The file size was 0 bytes.
I would suggest to use a VM to create a new installation and borrow confluence.cfg.xml from that installation.
It's embarrassing that this behavior has been allowed to exist for nearly 7 years in a commercial product. This is a basic stuff...
I wish that was on instructions somewhere:
Make single backup copy of confluence.cfg.xml immediately before any writes to it by the application. Application should be able to restore from backed up copy if it gets corrupted.
Atlassian documentation lists the following causes of this problem:
The user running Confluence does not have write permissions to the home folder defined in <install>/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/confluence-init.properties or the install directory.
You are running Confluence as the root user or if you have an application firewall enabled (SeLinux or AppArmor).
The database driver is not located in the <install>/confluence/WEB-INF/lib folder or you are using a database version that is incompatible with the bundled driver.
The hostname of the server can not be resolved.
In my case I was running it as root user inside docker container.

why glassfish 4.1 runs in netbeans 8.0 but in eclipse luna does not

I´m trying to work with eclipse and export my web apps made in netbeans, i just add a new server, download glassfish tools, and shows me an error:
Unable to start server due following issues:
Launch process failed with exit code 1
Launching GlassFish on Felix platform
ERROR: Error creating bundle cache. (java.lang.Exception: Unable to create bundle cache lock file: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Program Files (x86)\glassfish-4.1\glassfish\domains\domain1\osgi-cache\felix\cache.lock (Acceso denegado))
java.lang.Exception: Unable to create bundle cache lock file: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Program Files (x86)\glassfish-4.1\glassfish\domains\domain1\osgi-cache\felix\cache.lock (Acceso denegado)
any help?
I guess this is a problem with the access rights.
If the file cache.lock is in the folder which is mentioned in the error message, you should check if it is in use by another process.
Even if you start Eclipse as Administrator, it may not start Glassfish as Administrator.
To fix the problem, you can move your Glassfish installation to a folder where you have write access without the Adminstrator account. Update the location of the Glassfish installation in Eclipse. This should make it work.
Check if cache.lock is being used/if it currently exists.
Check if glassfish is currently running.

Run java applet offline: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

I just downloaded some java applets from this site: http://www.surendranath.org/Apps.html to run them offline on my laptop. Take for example this one: http://www.surendranath.org/Applets/Oscillations/Lissajous/Lissajous.html
By inspecting the source code I downloaded the file: wget http://www.surendranath.org/Applets/Oscillations/Lissajous/LissajousApplet.class
Then I tried it to run it on my ubuntu box via gappletviewer-4.8 -code LissayousApplet.class
However I got the following error message:
Exception in thfully qualifiedread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: loaded class LissajousApplet was in fact named Applets.Oscillations.Lissajous.LissajousApplet
at java.lang.VMClassLoader.defineClass(libgcj.so.14)

at gnu.classpath.tools.appletviewer.StandaloneAppletViewer.<init>(libgcj-tools.so.14)
at gnu.classpath.tools.appletviewer.Main.main(libgcj-tools.so.14)
So what is the correct way to run this applet offline? Running it online within my browser and the icetea plugin works. However I need a way to run it offline.
Edit
Trying the fully qualified class-name results in:
gappletviewer-4.8 -code Applets.Oscillations.Lissajous.LissajousApplet.class -codebase codebase="../../../"

Weblogic server not running from jdeveloper

When i tried to run an application on jdeveloper, the server wont start and it shows the following message
*** Using HTTP port 7101 ***
*** Using SSL port 7102 ***
C:\Users\Ayodeji.Ayodeji\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system11.1.2.3.39.62.76.1\DefaultDomain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
[waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
\IBM\WebSphere was unexpected at this time.
Process exited.
Finally i got the problem solved. I tried to locate the startWebLogic.cmd file in the specified path, and went through the file, then i realise its trying to access my classpath, so on checking my classpath from the environment variables, its has only entries to Websphere so i deleted the entry, restarted JDeveloper and my server is up and running.
I had the same issue with Eclipse setting Weblogic, I was trying to start the Server, but got the same error.
\IBM\WebSphere was unexpected at this time.
It was due to Window 7 folder security issue. As soon as I realized that, I close eclipse and start eclipse with Administration Right. That resolved the issue.
1.Go to
C:\Users\Ayodeji.Ayodeji\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\
Ayodeji.Ayodeji should be your PC User name
then change
system11.1.2.3.39.62.76.1
Folder name to another name and run.

Using Java Within PHP - Class Not Found

I'm using Tomcat and PHP5 with JavaBridge. I have bridged PHP and Java so I can screencap web pages within PHP. This was working on another server but after moving to a new server I can not get it working, so I'm reaching for straws here.
require_once("http://localhost:8080/JavaBridge/java/Java.inc");
java_autoload("/web/sites/madfrog/domain.com/cron/bin/html2image.jar");
$JavaHTML2Image = new Java("com.elance.proposal.html2image.client.MainBridge");
It should have loaded all of the project html2image.jar when the script _autoloaded it, however when you create the new Java object I get the error
Class Not Found: Fatal error: Uncaught [[o:Exception]:"java.lang.Exception: CreateInstance failed: new com.elance.proposal.html2image.client.MainBridge. Cause: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.elance.proposal.html2image.client.MainBridge
I asked the guys over in Java and they said I needed to put the jar file in the lib so Java could find it, so I dumped it into Tomcat's webapps folder an into /usr/share/java. But that did nothing. With that said the PHP has a direct reference to it, so it should be loaded.
I'm at a lost after two days. any help is appreciated!
Which version of Tomcat do you use?
For Tomcat 6 or Tomcat 7 put the jar either in ${tomcat.home}/lib or in ${tomcat.home}/webapps/${your.war}/lib
While tomcat.home is your tomcat installation directory. And your.war is the name of your war file.
