Spring MVC Resources not mapping - java

Following is my mvc-dispatcher.xml file
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:mvc="http://www.springframework.org/schema/mvc"

</property>
</bean>
<mvc:annotation-driven />
<mvc:resources location="/static/" mapping="/static/**" />
<context:component-scan base-package="in.codejava.personal.controllers" />
</beans>
Where am I going wrong? All static/* url's is being mapped by a 404 Controller that I created instead of the static resources.

If I remove the commented section it works properly.

I'm going to take a punt and assume you are using a conventional directory structure for your JS, CSS, images resources, like this:
src/main/webapp/[js|css|images]
In this case your mvc:resources should look like:
<mvc:resources mapping="/static/**" location="/" />
and you should reference them in your JSPs something like this: "${pageContext.request.contextPath}/static/js/foo.js"

I just add a new servlet mapping in my web.xml
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>default</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/resources/*</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
and then make reference to the resources path on my html:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="resources/css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen">

Resource sharing not working in spring mvc app

I created a Spring MVC Web App and it was working fine. Then I decided to make the UI better and added CSS files and images but they are not being served.
The app works perfectly fine if I dont add any css or images in my code.
Here is my servlet config file
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

In your web.xml edit manaf servlet mapping as below:

Spring MVC Adding external css to HTML

I am having a major problem with paths in my Spring MVC project.
I have fixed so that I can see images/Css and so on in my jsp files, but my html files I am at a loss, I have tried all kinds of paths I can think of, but nothing seems to work... I hope anyone of you can help me find what I am doing wrong.

Hope anyone can help because I got no clue why it doesn't work.
PS: I am using jstl on the jsp and that works, but what I am aware it is not possible on static html files.
Thanks
EDIT UPDATE:
I solved it, the solution for people with the same problem was to use the relative path; "../map/filename" instead of "/map/filename".

Spring 3.0 newbie start project not display value

I made simple helloworld in Netbeans 7.3. But I have problem with load jsp with value from controller. I partially inspire instructions from http://www.tutorialspoint.com/spring/spring_tutorial.pdf (page 141.). But when I want load jsp with value which is set in controller, value is not displayed. In controller are capture GET reguests. I entered this url: http://localhost:8080/HelloWorld3/hello.htm. I get jsp, but value not displayed. When I enter url which is write in above tutorial:
http://localhost:8080/HelloWeb/hello , I get 404 error, this page is not found.
What url I must enter or what I doing worse? I guess that error is in some config file. Thx

Is there some particular reason you coded your helloWorld application the way you did?
For a simple helloWorld application it seems needlessly complex.
For one thing unless you had a some specific reason for doing so, you don't really need to define two separate controllers.
I also worked through the tutorialspoint example you linked and mine worked perfectly, but it was a clone of the original example.
If you want to extend or play around with the example I would suggest you first clone the example and get it working... then go forward from there, one step at a time.
While I don't have my solution in front of me, the answer given by Georgy Gobozov looks correct.
