I have a list view from SQLite with checkboxes ..
It is all working fine , but when I click on one or more checkboxes and change their status then scroll down .. the checkbox status changes back to the original value (when the listview first created)

The issue with CheckBox inside ListView is that the view gets recycled due to recycling of view.
To, maintain the state to CheckBox there has to be something that can store the state of Checkbox.

You have to make a class to get and set state of checkbox . that will be used as arraylist to save state of checkbox. and use it to show checked item.

I'm trying to use the textview to display the contact that was selected from the listview. The listview contains contacts that was selected by the user from the android phonebook which are loaded into the listview. The textview will only show the last item in the listview, even though the user has selected another contact which wasn't the last contact in the listview.
Even though in my log prints, I can see which contact I have selected but it still defaulting to the last contact when I try to print it out onto a textview in another window.

My app layout apparently isn't a normal layout so I a having trouble setting my List Adapter to auto updated when an edit is made.

So any advise on setting this up to automatically update would be a huge help. I have been racking my brain over this for a couple days now looking at different examples and what not, but no setup is quite like this one which doesnt allow me to have everything in one file.

PROBLEMS
You will have to make sure the public static adapter has been initialized and is not null, or simply check whether the adapter is not null and update, because if the adapter is null that activity has not launched yet thus no need to trigger the updateMethod().
OTHER SOLUTIONS
Instead of creating a public static adapter create a public static boolean, then whenever data changes set that boolean to true from the database.
Finally, whenever you resume your activity check against that boolean and update your ListViewAdapter if needed.
MORE COMPLICATED SOLUTIONS WHICH I KNOW WORK CAUSE I USE IT
Use TaskAsyncTaskLoader which utilizes a Loader in your MainActivity and implements LoaderManager.LoaderCallbacks.
Optionally, you can make the Loader be, public static Loaderand inside your DBHandler you trigger the loader to load the data again or use any other logic you want.

You can Broadcast Intent from the change database file after you get the response in the onCreate() of adapter loading class

I not sure from where Object "c" is coming but i m assuming it list object and getCount is return the current count of list. So, If you want to show "Show more" button when the size of list is greater than or equals to 15 then use this condition.

Put the Button in a layout XML File. Inflate it, then:

btnLoadMore.setVisibility(View.INVISIBLE);

I have a SimpleCursorAdapter and I'm attempting to bind a SimpleCursorAdapter.ViewBinder to it. Below is the code that I am using.

Issue
When I load the activity, the TextView's do not get updated with the data from the userCursor. I can confirm that userCursor is in fact pointing to a valid row in the backing SQLite database, and has data, but the setViewValue method in UserProfileViewBinder never appears to be executing. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, or neglecting to include.
As an alternative, I'm doing the following to set the TextView's text:

StackOverFlow.USER_FULL_NAME));
mUserOtherInfo.setText(mAdapter.getCursor().getString(
StackOverFlow.USER_EMAIL));

But I don't think this will automatically update the TextView's when the cursor data changes. when the ContentProvider calls setNotificationUri after executing a query, and the REST server call returns and the thread updates the row the cursor is pointing at.

Are you planing to do other thing besides setting the text on those two TextViews? If the answer is no then you have no reason to use the ViewBinder as the SimpleCursorAdapter, by default, will set the text for you.
Anyway, I don't understand why you used the columnIndex parameter to identify the views and not the id of the view that is passed in. See if this helps:
