Hi a query I have configured my pom.xml, was downloaded all libraries except the library jdbc6 Oracle 11.2.0, so for now I've had to say, I do not understand why not download this library. My pom.xml is this:

You need to install a JDK instead of, or in addition to, a JRE, and set up your JAVA_HOME to point to the JDK accordingly.
As per the Maven installation instructions:
Maven is a Java tool, so you must have Java installed in order to proceed. More precisely, you need a Java Development Kit (JDK), the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is not sufficient.
Further to that:
make sure that JAVA_HOME exists in your user variables or in the system variables and it is set to the location of your JDK, e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02
And slightly off-topic:
and [make sure] that %JAVA_HOME%\bin is in your Path environment variable

This exception is because "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_34..\lib\tools.jar " ,
as tools.jar is available in JDK not with JRE.
If you are trying to use embedded mavan like in eclipse you need to update the installed JREs for eclipse with JDK installed directories
go to the below options in eclipse
windows--> preferences --> java --> installed JREs and click on add then locate the JDK installed directory.

I believe you have two questions.
Why no jdbc6 jar > Oracle jar is not available on Maven central repository. This is a proprietory file which you need to download from oracle site or get from your DBA team. Then you can install the jar file manually in your local repository. Refer http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-3rd-party-jars-local.html
You need to run your maven with JDK and not JRE. If you are running from command prompt, you need to set JAVA_HOME to the JDK path. If you are running maven from some form of IDE, you need to set the Maven environment accordingly.

can't run maven project, build fail. Advice about Maven

i'm new in maven, i have no such time to study it at all.
i'm so sorry about my generic question.
i was programming my app with MVC JSF JPA and so on. I had problems with testing, i saw something about mocking, but i thing it is good for a team project, where i don't know all about project.
So i was searching something useful as "real case" test... i found arquillian! The faster and easier way to use arquillian is with maven. So i converted my project to a maven project.
i'm using the embedded version in Netbeans. After a clean, when i try to run my app, it return

Read the maven output:
To see the full stack trace of the errors, re-run Maven with the -e switch.
Re-run Maven using the -X switch to enable full debug logging.
This means you have to execute maven in this way to display the exception:
mvn -X
To do this in Netbeans, open project properties, select Actions and select the action you are executing. Add -X to the Execute Goals.
Rerun the test again and you will get the real exception in the output console.
This is looking strange and could cause problems:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.jboss.shrinkwrap.resolver</groupId>
<artifactId>shrinkwrap-resolver-bom</artifactId>
<version>2.0.0-alpha-1</version>
<scope>test</scope>
<type>pom</type>
</dependency>
You are using an old shrinkwrap resolver in an alpha version!
Remove this dependency and just use this as a normal dependency. The version is already defined in the arquillian-bom.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.jboss.shrinkwrap.resolver</groupId>
<artifactId>shrinkwrap-resolver-impl-maven</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
Right click on your project, select run as -> maven build...
in goals, write:
mvn -X clean install
Found problem in your pom.xml
${project.build.directory}/endorsed
${project.build.directory} is a variable which you used but haven't defined
you can do it like this
<properties>
<project.build.directory>your build directory here</project.build.directory>
</properties>

MVN running from Console is not working, from Eclipse is working

I can not find the answer, that's why I'am asking.
I have maven project: Spring + hibernate and Solr in version 3.6.1.
Project is working as expected when I build it from Eclipse Luna (using maven M2 plugin for Eclipse Luna, Java 8).
But, when I run it from system console (on Ubuntu 14.04, maven ver.3, Java 8) build is failed because of:

[ERROR] /home/dstachyra/git/bip/bip-persist/src/main/java/eu/arrow/bip/persist/indexing/SolrServerFactory.java:[244,90] error: cannot access ResourceLoader
I found the reason here: I'm trying to index files in a document through SOLR and lucene..
Part of class causing the error looks like:
CoreContainer container = new CoreContainer( new SolrResourceLoader(SolrResourceLoader.locateInstanceDir()));
My pom.xml (work from eclipse, doesn't worj from system console):

I understand that it can fail because of solr version, however it is working in Eclipse. The question is why?
--- EDIT ---
I looked into Maven Dependencies in Eclipse in I see there:
solr-solrj-4.1.0.jar
solr-core-3.6.1.jar
a lot of lucene jars in ver.
3.6.1
I tried to search ResourceLoader class in Eclipse (CTRL+T) and it does't exists. There is other class: org.apache.solr.util.plugin.ResourceLoaderAware from solr-core.3.6.1 library.

Missing artifact com.oracle:ojdbc14:jar:10.2.0.1.0

I am trying to add dependency for ojdbc14 in pom.xml.
Steps I followed for adding ojdbc14.jar in local repository of maven:
Create a new project
move to that particular folder where is pom.xml file was located in command prompt.
execute the command mvn clean.
execute the command:
mvn install:install-file -Dfile=ojdbc14.jar -DgroupId=com.oracle -DartifactId=oracle -Dversion=10.2.0.1.0 -Dpackaging=jar -DgeneratePom=true
after this I got a build success message
I have updated the global and local repository in Eclipse > Maven Repositories
C:\> mvn install:install-file -Dfile="C:\Users\Dhia\Desktop\Nouveau dossier\ojdb
c14.jar" -DgroupId=com.oracle -DartifactId=ojdbc14 -Dversion=10.2.0.1.0 -Dpackag

I got error in my pom.xml file :Missing artifact com.oracle:ojdbc14:jar:10.2.0.1.0, and I am not able to see the ojdbc14.jar file in my local repository. Is there any thing wrong in the steps I followed. Please help me out.
Thanks
This can't be directly install because Oracle has put some license and agreements. So we have to download it manually and install it to the project. Use this link to choose the version you need and download the ojdbc14.jar file. You must have an Oracle account to download it.
Then open the command prompt. Go to the file download location. Then enter below code.
mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=com.oracle -DartifactId=ojdbc14 -Dversion=10.2.x.x.x -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=ojdbc14.jar -DgeneratePom=true
Fill the x using your needed version. Then right click on your project >Maven>Update Project.
This will solve the problem.
The XML for version com.oracle:ojdbc14:jar:10.2.0.1.0 is missing from the central repository.
So i think this version will create problem for many more people
https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/oracle/ojdbc14/
Based on the output of mvn install:install-file, the jar was correctly installed in your local maven repository. If you add this to your pom.xml (inside the <dependencies> section), your project should find the jar:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.oracle</groupId>
<artifactId>ojdbc14</artifactId>
<version>10.2.0.1.0</version>
</dependency>
If you're still experiencing problems,
please share your pom.xml and the error output.
There is no such artifact in maven central repository: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/oracle/ojdbc14/10.2.0.4.0 (only pom).
Please refer Is there an issue with the oracle dependency?
Manually downloading the ojdbc14 jar worked for me :)
This might be because of your maven settings.xml file. If you don't configure your local repo in settings.xml maven default repo will be Default: ${user.home}/.m2/repository. And you need to configure same maven settings in your IDE.
See more details here.

Maven and Jenkins: dependency error when building project

I'm trying to move an application from being built locally on a Windows Eclipse installation to a Jenkins server. From what I can see the settings are correct and the dependencies should resolve. Even the ones it is complaining about are there when I check the ~/.m2/repositories/ folder. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I'm completely new to Jenkins and little to no experience with Maven itself.
Here's my pom.xml:

I was originally getting this error:
[WARNING] Failed to retrieve plugin descriptor for org.eclipse.m2e:lifecycle-mapping:1.0.0: Plugin org.eclipse.m2e:lifecycle-mapping:1.0.0 or one of its dependencies could not be resolved: Failure to find org.eclipse.m2e:lifecycle-mapping:jar:1.0.0 in https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2 was cached in the local repository, resolution will not be reattempted until the update interval of central has elapsed or updates are forced

I've since learned that the m2e:lifecycle-mapping is not a real plugin and is something that's built into Eclipse, so Maven on a Linux server is not able to resolve it. I can manage to to get around it temporarily with this command (courtesy of this post):
sudo -u jenkins /opt/apache-maven-3.2.5/bin/mvn archetype:generate -DgroupId=org.eclipse.m2e -DartifactId=lifecycle-mapping -Dversion=1.0.0 -DarchetypeArtifactId=maven-archetype-mojo
But now I'm running into this problem:

Any help on this is appreciated.
I figured out the answer.
The trick (so far) seems to just add eclipse:eclipse to the command line. So something like this:
mvn eclipse:eclipse
And that's it! After adding that the project builds successfully. This has been a frustrating week with many dents in the wall from my head. Hopefully someone with a similar issue will come across this and find a solution faster than I did. Although I can say now that I have a bit of experience with Jenkins and Maven at this point :P
This has already been answered here:
StackOverflow get rid of POM not found warning for org.eclipse.m2e:lifecycle-mapping
Apache Maven's Jira. There is a patch to fix it: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-13758
Eclipse's Bugzilla. https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=367870
In order to get m2e working correctly:
Include the org.eclipse.m2e:lifecycle-mapping declaration in the pluginManagement section of your pom
Associate the declaration to a profile that will activate only inside eclipse. For that the presence of m2e.version variable is checked
<profiles>
<profile>
<id>only-eclipse</id>
<activation>
<property>
<name>m2e.version</name>
</property>
</activation>
<build>
<pluginManagement>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.eclipse.m2e</groupId>
<artifactId>lifecycle-mapping</artifactId>
<version>1.0.0</version>
<configuration>
...
</configuration>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</pluginManagement>
</build>
</profile>
</profiles>
org.eclipse.m2e:lifecycle-mapping is not on maven reop
move this plugin from <build> to <pluginManagement>
this will allow jenkins to skip resolving of non existing plugin

maven to package app jar, create project classpath, goals

Update : solved by using assembly plugin to copy in artifacts, to a folder or create a redistributable zip file.
Do not know maven. Used STS/ eclipse to make a maven project that is a swing standalone application. App runs fine inside STS. Example helped.
{figured out how it's getting the runner script. template is there in the source. maven just filters it and puts the current jar name. Now just need to figure out how to stop maving putting my app jar in the assembly lib (want it one level up so can click it and start, and 80 other jars are in lib), using ant for that now }
Original question
Cannot find the lib folder. Apparently the app refers to local jars in the maven local repo.
Can I tell maven to copy them to some folder under my project like dist/lib and make a full app jar in my dist/ (I do not care if dist is some other directory name -> if there is a maven default do not mind that). I want a distributable set of jars to ship.
When I build my project now it puts classes in the
./target/classes
directory ./ is my project folder here
My pom:-

[ERROR] [Help 1] http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/MAVEN/MojoExecutionException
Used assembly (suggested by John Ament) as described here maven-assembly-example/releases or zip
Got a big tar and zip with all the jars. Most of the work done. Now just need to unpack, make a script so I have
project-home
-> dist
--> MyApp.jar
--> lib
---> other1.jar
---> other2.jar
--> conf
---> myResources1.jpg
---> otherFiles2.xyz
While shade is a good solution, you may not want those dependencies in your JAR. You can also use the assembly plugin to copy in artifacts, to a folder or create a redistributable zip file.
Create a shaded jar (UberJar) by adding this to your plugins section:
<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-shade-plugin</artifactId>
<version>2.1</version>
<configuration>
<!-- put your configurations here -->
</configuration>
<executions>
<execution>
<phase>package</phase>
<goals>
<goal>shade</goal>
</goals>
</execution>
</executions>
</plugin>
Maven will create on jar that contains all classes from your sources and all of your dependencies.
