Android, Background service is not starting

I am implementing a simple application executing a background service, I am not able to start the service, following is my Manifest & Code, the service class is properly resolved ( reading resources ), inheriting from IntentService ( and implementing the req methods ) doesn't resolve the problem as-well...
Why does the Background service doesn't start?
any help will be appreciated.
Manifest:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="com.newcomp.vagent"
android:versionCode="1"
android:versionName="1.0"
android:permission="android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED" >
<uses-sdk
android:minSdkVersion="16"
android:targetSdkVersion="20" />
<application
android:allowBackup="true"
android:icon="#drawable/ic_launcher"
android:label="#string/app_name"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme" >
<receiver android:name="com.newcomp.Infrastructure.BootStarter" >
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.BOOT_COMPLETED" />
</intent-filter>
</receiver>
<activity android:name=".MainActivity">
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
</intent-filter>
</activity>
<service
android:name=".CaptureService"
android:exported="true"
android:process=":captureService" >
</service>
</application>
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.USE_CREDENTIALS" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_PROFILE" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE" />
</manifest>
Service code:
package com.newcomp.vagent;
import android.app.IntentService;
import android.app.Service;
import android.content.Intent;
import android.R.*;
import android.os.IBinder;
import java.io.IOException;
import fi.iki.elonen.NanoHTTPD;
public class CaptureService extends Service {
public CaptureService() {
//super("Capture Service");
}
#Override
public int onStartCommand(Intent intent, int flags, int startId) {
return Service.START_NOT_STICKY;
}
#Override
public IBinder onBind(Intent intent) {
return null;
}
#Override
public void onCreate() {
super.onCreate();
}
}
Activity code:
package com.newcomp.vagent;
import android.app.Activity;
import android.content.Intent;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.widget.Toast;
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
#Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
{
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
final String strSvcName = getResources().getString(R.string.startup_service);
//setContentView(R.layout.main);
Toast.makeText(getBaseContext(), String.format("Hello from '%s'", strSvcName), Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
Class cls = null;
try {
cls = getClassLoader().loadClass(strSvcName);
startService(new Intent(this, cls));// Starts the service
} catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
//finish();
}
}
The problem was simple, the service was actually starting but since android:process=":captureService" was specified it was starting on a separate process, one that is not connected by the debugger, either specifcally connecting to the service process, OR, omitting android:process=":captureService" resolve the problem.

Is your emulator target set with Google APIs (Google Inc.)? Last time I used the google map api, I had the same experience and it worked after I set the target to Google APIs (Google Inc.)-API Level (version).

unable to locate current gps position

I am constructing an Android application that is to return the current position of the device running the app. I have currently got the google map displaying on the screen but I am having an issue with the location listener, I put break points within it and they never be hit. I will include my MainActivity.java and androidMainfest.xml.
MainActivity.java
package com.example.androidgooglemap;
import com.google.android.gms.location.LocationListener;
import com.google.android.gms.maps.GoogleMap;
import android.location.Location;
import android.location.LocationManager;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.support.v4.app.FragmentActivity;
import android.content.Context;
import android.view.Menu;
import android.widget.Toast;
public class MainActivity extends FragmentActivity {
public GoogleMap mMap;
LocationManager location;
public double latG;
public double lonG;
#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
location = (LocationManager) getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
location.getLastKnownLocation(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
LocationListener locationListener = new LocationListener(){
#Override
public void onLocationChanged(Location location)
{
if (location != null)
{
latG = location.getLatitude();
lonG = location.getLongitude();
Toast.makeText(MainActivity.this,
latG + " " + lonG,
Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
}
};
}
#Override
public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) {
// Inflate the menu; this adds items to the action bar if it is present.
getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.main, menu);
return true;
}
/* Request updates at startup */
}

Some guidance needed. Thank you
You forgot to register the listener to the location service. Add this code after the declaration of locationListener variable.
if(location.isProviderEnabled("gps"))
location.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER, 0, 0, locationListener);
if(location.isProviderEnabled("network"))
location.requestLocationUpdates(LocationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER, 0, 0, locationListener);

Why it can run in my device but it didn't display the map?I am beginner of SDK please explain clearly

This is my MainActivity
it is wrong about level of API ??

If you're seeing a grayed tile background where a map should be, you are likely using the wrong api key. You need a production key for a device that is different from the debug key for the map api.

How can remove the titlebar and remain the browser in fullscreen

I'm trying to create my first app, the browser for android with this code already done, but needed to adapt to my necessity. I still do not know java, and the examples I find I can not make it work.
I need help and reading.
How can remove the titlebar and remain the browser in fullscreen?
for later viewing and interacting with my application in jquery mobile
import android.app.Activity;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.webkit.WebSettings;
import android.webkit.WebView;
import android.webkit.WebViewClient;
public class AndroidMobileAppSampleActivity extends Activity {
/** Called when the activity is first created. */
#Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);

WebView mainWebView = (WebView) findViewById(R.id.mainWebView);
WebSettings webSettings = mainWebView.getSettings();
webSettings.setJavaScriptEnabled(true);
mainWebView.setWebViewClient(new MyCustomWebViewClient());
mainWebView.setScrollBarStyle(View.SCROLLBARS_INSIDE_OVERLAY);
mainWebView.loadUrl("http://www.");

1 - in your layout, set the WebView to match_parent in both layout_width and layout_height
2 - in your code, add these lines:
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
// Hiding Title bar of this activity screen
getWindow().requestFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE);
// Making this activity full screen
getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN,
WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN);
setContentView(R.layout.main);
in place of the existing
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.main);
If your IDE is NOT SET to add the missing imports, just add the following line to your imports:
import android.view.Window;
import android.view.WindowManager;
update your manifeist like this :
only mentioning one thing:
android:theme="#android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar"
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="tscolari.mobile_sample"
android:versionCode="1"
android:versionName="1.0">
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="10" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/>
<application android:icon="#drawable/icon" android:label="#string/app_name">
<activity android:name=".AndroidMobileAppSampleActivity"
android:label="#string/app_name"
android:theme="#android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar" >
<intent-filter>

<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
</intent-filter>
</activity>
</application>
</manifest>
