I have been getting an error:
Line 7 in XML document from ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/tiles-defs.xml] is invalid; nested exception is org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element type "put-attribute" must be declared
for some reason I don't think it is reading my tiles-defs like it should.
I have http://struts.apache.org/dtds/tiles-config_1_3.dtd and it dosent complain, but I want to use http://tiles.apache.org/dtds/tiles-config_3_0.dtd. If i change the version to what it should be, the compiler complains and says:
The content of element type "tiles-definitions" must match "(definition)+".
Below is other relevant code that might be the cause of this:
tiles-defs.xml

This setup is working, although, when I try to add this to my spring-context:
<bean id="entityManagerFactory"
class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean">
<property name="dataSource" ref="dbDataSource" />
<property name="jpaVendorAdapter">
<bean
class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.vendor.OpenJpaVendorAdapter"/>
</property>
</bean>
The error ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl apears. As far as I know, this is the code that will make the injection possible, but it's not working. There is another option to connect the JPA to the datasource of Tomcat server?
Edit 1:
#DevSpace bring me something important, I was using the wrong jpaVendorAdapter, now I've changed it and the error is: Error creating bean with name 'entityManagerFactory' IllegalStateException: No persistence units parsed from {classpath*:META-INF/persistence.xml}. Do I need to have a persistence.xml? How could I write it to get the Tomcat's datasource?
Edit 2:
After adding the persistence.xml to src/main/resources, the project could go running. Now I'm going to look after the injection thing that is not working. Thanks!
You've declared hibernate as persistence provider implementation in the pom.xml. But you defined the ntityManagerFactoryBeanto use OpenJpaVendorAdapter for which you haven't declared any dependencies.
You can try to use the following on entityManagerFactoryBean definition:
<property name="jpaVendorAdapter">
<bean class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.vendor.HibernateJpaVendorAdapter" />
</property>
I am developing a web appilcation with Jersey 1.18 + Spring 3.1.0 + Spring data Jpa 1.2.0
I am deploying application on webpshere.Data source is configured through JNDI.
My ear is getting deployed successfully on web sphere,but while hitting button from screen,I get following error in log
com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.webapp.WebApp logServletError SRVE0293E: [Servlet Error]-[Jersey REST Service]: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No WebApplicationContext found: no ContextLoaderListener registered?
Any pointers please.

This is my first spring sample project. Its a very basic example where I'm trying to pass firstname and lastname using Ajax to my program. But, its not able to hit the URL. Here is my code. Please let me know if anything is missing.
package com.controller;
import org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.Autowired;
import org.springframework.stereotype.Controller;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.RequestBody;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.RequestMapping;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.RequestMethod;
import org.springframework.web.bind.annotation.ResponseBody;
import com.impl.EmployeeImpl;
import com.model.Employee;
#Controller
public class HelloWorldController {
/*#Autowired
EmployeeImpl employee;*/
#RequestMapping(value = "/hello", method = RequestMethod.POST)
#ResponseBody
public String saveHosting(#RequestBody Employee employee)
{
System.out.println("First name :"+employee.getFirstname());
System.out.println("Last name :"+employee.getLastname());
return "hi";
}
}
My JS code
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#click').click(function() {
var data = {}
data["firstname"] = $('#firstname').val();
data["lastname"] =$('#lastname').val();
console.log("Data :"+data);
$.ajax({

Read in the blog that probably this is the error " is that you are loading the container into both the web context (DispatcherServlet's context) and the root context (ContextLoaderListener's context). Which means you have 2 containers and you are only stopping the one in the servlet context"
Issue is similar Spring JMS Listener Container stop only half of listeners
But fix is not clear in the answer.
How can I fix this. ?
In your web.xml change the Dispatcher Servlet definition to below.
<servlet>
<servlet-name>spring</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>
org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet
</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>WEB-INF/jms-config.xml</param-value>
</init-param>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
And remove the following part.
<context-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>WEB-INF/jms-config.xml,WEB-INF/root-context.xml</param-value>
</context-param>
<listener>
<listener-class>org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener</listener-class>
</listener>
Updated as per user comments
The recommended pattern is to have separate context for non web stuff and the web stuff. But in your case there doesn't seem to be anything in the root context, you can skip it if your app works that way.
In future if you require root scope - say you add ORM support in your app - you could always keep the ContextLoaderListener entry in there with the contextConfigLocation context param with the value as only your root context config file name.
As a side note, even if you decide to add the ORM support in your app you could very well do that in the web context and the app should work fine, just that it is not recommended.
Update
try this.
<servlet>
<servlet-name>spring</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>
org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet
</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>WEB-INF/jms-config.xml</param-value>
</init-param>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
<context-param>
<param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
<param-value>WEB-INF/root-context.xml</param-value>
</context-param>
<listener>
<listener-class>org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener</listener-class>
</listener>
