I'm trying to deploy a simple JSF app onto a Tomcat 8 server on my local machine. When I run mvn tomcat:deploy, I get the following feedback:

Apparently Maven is finding the server, but is unable to deploy onto it. I looked around the interwebs and found that this could be due to maven trying to use a "PUT" command. However, after looking at the following answer, I added this code to my tomcat web.xml in the default servlet:
<init-param>
<param-name>readonly</param-name>
<param-value>false</param-value>
</init-param>
However, it doesn't appear to have had any effect. Do you have any further advice on what I can do to get this working?
I'm using Maven 3.1.1 and Tomcat 8.0.1.
It turns out that this was a silly mistake- the user that I had maven using had "manager-gui" privileges instead of "manager-script." Resolving this issue fixed my problem.

I have a Java application which should be run with mvn spring-boot:run -Dspring.profiles.active=dev -Djasypt.encryptor.password=<DJASYPT_ENCRYPTOR_PASSWORD>.
If I just run that command I get this:

Even if I was correct to do this I'd expect the application to remain running. Is there anything obvious that I'm doing wrong?
I had to cd accapiapp then run my mvn command.
I switched from windows to MacBook Air which is having M1 chip. I installed java and added the environment variables in .zprofile as follows
export JAVA_HOME=$(/usr/libexec/java_home)
export ANDROID_HOME=${HOME}/Library/Android/sdk
export PATH="${JAVA_HOME}/bin:${ANDROID_HOME}/tools:${ANDROID_HOME}/platform-tools:${PATH}"
But when I run echo $JAVA_HOME, I see the output as /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home instead of /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_311.jdk/Contents/Home. I am not able to check if variable is set to JDK or JRE.
From Intellij, when I run mvn test clean, error is shown as,

Before triggering the build via mvn clean install, issue the following command in the same shell/terminal:
export MAVEN_OPTS="-Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m"
It will allow Maven to use more RAM - here up to 2048 MB - during the build phase(s). If it does not work, you can increase this value even further to see if the build passes. Keep in mind that your machine/workstation has needs that amount of free, physical RAM. Otherwise, the build will obviously: fail again.

Can anyone tell me how to solve the problem? I think the first warning is detected because in my pom.xml file I have not specified a version for maven-compiler-plugin; does anyone know how do i see the current version i am using?
I'm testing the sample script at Spring Roo 2.0.0M2 released. The script generates well, but when issueing mvn tomcat:run it breaks.
In the end there is no local website.
How to solve this to get the project running?

Remember that Spring Roo 2.x generates Spring Boot applications. It includes some starters on your pom.xml file that provides you an embedded tomcat server. Also, your generated project includes the spring-boot-maven-plugin that allows you to run your application executing the following maven command:
mvn clean compile spring-boot:run
For more information about Spring Boot project read the official documentation
Hope this helps,
