I am trying to show a value from the database in a input text to update it. so when I click on the column the program show a window with all the values but as an inputtext so the user can't update the values.
I am using PrimeFace 4, jsf and mysql as a database

Any input field should be inside a form (h:form will do) to be processed. You could omit this in case you just want to output the data. But in this case it would be more "correct" to use "output" elements for this task.
Since you use PrimeFaces I would highly recommend using p:inputText (http://www.primefaces.org/showcase/ui/inputText.jsf). It has all the attributes of h:inputText but is more compatible with PF processors.
To show any value inside an inputText you just have to initialize it in the provided managed bean. And of course, if you use partial submit approach don't forget to update the element/container you're trying to show values at.

This is the same piece of code used in other pages like login and register user.
The form fields get the current values in "CustodiaBean", but i try to change the value in the form and when I press the button to check the value(call a function in "CustodiaBean"), I always get the previous value (The new form value is not changed in my class "CustodiaBean").
I'm using a tomcat server and eclipse.
Is necesary to force the field to be bloqued and save the changes when the button is pressed??
I don't know why this is happen. Can anyone help me or give me some advice??

Does h:inputText etc also has a property name? Try to see what html is generated. It may be possible that your data is not getting submitted properly. Any HTML form directly submit feilds which are non disabled with the name property of each field. IF id is present and not name, it wont be submitted correctly. Try debugging at browser level or via some firefox plugin like tamper data.

Do you want to execute all inputs in both forms? Then process="#all" attribute of <p:commandButton> is for you. It will process all inputs within a page.
Alternatively, you can specify ids of components to be processed, like process="#form :another-form", if to-be-updated form has id="another-form" specified.
The code fragment below represents an editor. In my application, a windows displays a group of editors in a tab panel, each tab containing a datatable with the editors as rows. When a node is selected, its text will be displayed in the organizationUnit input text. The editor shouldn't know about it's parents. The tab panel is inside a form called form with prependId="false"
When you have components inside different NamingContainers, and those are not nested**, you must use absolute client id.
In your case, if you don't use the separator character at the begining, the findComponent algorithm would search up until it finds a NamingContainer: this would be your p:tree. Then it would try to find the component inside the p:tree, since it's not there, the exception you mentioned is thrown.
On the other hand, If you do use the separator character at the begining, you must use the absolute client id.
Short answers: No. Unless you change the way your components are organized, you can't update organizationUnit without using the absolute client id.
** If NamingContainers are nested, components inside the outter NamingContainer may update ones inside an inner NamingContainer by referencing their id before the id of the actual component they want to update, for example: update="innerContainer1Id:componentId", or even update="innerContainer1Id:innerContainer2:componentId".
Algorithm is explained in the JavaDoc.
A common 'trick' I use to avoid refering to ids is to use binding.
Example:

Richfaces 3.3.3, Jsf 1.2:
I have a a4j:form that uses some simple validation, mainly required="true" to ensure the form does not get submitted without some necessary data.
I also have some complex data to add (optionally) to the form, so I thought the best way to do this is to have a a4j:commandButton that displays a rich:modalPanel where the user can create the complex data set.
The created data is also displayed in a h:selectManyListbox that is reRendered when the modalPanel is closed.
That's the plan, at least. I have the following problems:
reRender works, but only if I prevent validation via immediate="true" - which in turn seems to prevent the selected data from the modalPanel to be present in the backing Bean
if I remove the immediate tag, the data gets updated, but only if there are no validation errors
What is the best way to get this to work the way I want? Is there another, better way?

The Validation that fails is in some different part of the form, not in the data entered via the modalPanel, which is displayed in the Listbox

If you do it in one form than you should separate it into two: one will be your main form and another will be form inside modal panel. Thus you'll be able to submit modal panel independently of main form and your submit button in modal panel will look like this:

you should use process with immediate to send modalpanel's data to bean when closing panel with a a:commandButton or a:commandLink.
for this, modal panel data has to be valid as expected, so you will get valid new data and add it to h:selectManyListBox 's bean value and reRender h:selectManyListBox.
this should work. if not please post your a:form and modalPanel code full to check.

It's hitting the server and calling proper method and updating the required list, but it's not showing any response. Why is it not rendering? It does not show any exception on console either.
the a4j:support and the dataTable should be in the same <x:form>
try adding immediate="true" to the a4j:support to bypass validation errors.
Does it work if you rerender bookIncomeHeader1?
