IntelliJ 13 cannot import maven project - java

I am running IntelliJ 13 (the latest version) on Mac Mavericks. IntelliJ had been working well until yesterday when I found it got stuck when importing maven projects.
I created maven projects by using "mvn archetype:generate". IntelliJ is stuck at the following screen captured: No matter how many times I click the "Next" button or how long I wait, nothing shows up.
I've done a search on google, and have enabled IPv4 for maven per some answers I found, however, this does not work for me. I think my problem is caused by something different. So what could be wrong? Thanks

I found out the cause: some .jar files I put at /Library/Java/Extensions directory yesterday caused InteliJ to be unable to import maven projects. After removing those problematic jar files from /Library/Java/Extensions, IntelliJ import works again!!
thanks everyone

Probably it is stuped, but may be reinstal IteliiJ IDEA?

Why is Intellij Idea freezing during indexing?

I'm on Manjaro linux using Intellij Idea community 4:2022.1.3-1 and jdk 17 for this project, maven is also present
Intellij always hangs after it starts indexing the jdk, it's responsive for a period of time but if I type anything or open a new menu after it's begun indexing the jdk it will immediately freeze and I have to kill the process.
This behavior started after I began attempting to use the luaj-jse-3.0.2 library. I got it to successfully start by removing this library once but have been unable to replicate this since.
I have tried -
Reinstalling intellij
Installing a different version
Removing the luaj library (only successful once)
Deleting the .idea folder
Running intellij in strace
Waiting for it to resolve
Several combinations of all of the above at once
I'm really at my wits' end on this, anyone know anything?
project github (this is up to date to the project): https://github.com/MorticiaGrey/CompSim
Apparently maven was having an issue with the jar I imported through intellij as a library. On a new project without maven but with the offending jar and code copied and pasted from the original project it worked fine, I also got it to work by deleting the old project and importing it again from github without building any of the maven stuff and deleting all the maven files
It may have been my fault for configuring something incorrectly somewhere, but I was using the normal method to add a library in intellij so if that's the case whoops I guess

Eclipse neon hangs loading org.eclipse.ui.navigator

Researching existing answers to problems with eclipse hanging on startup, I have not found anything that seems applicable to my problem. Neither have the responses so far been helpful.
The splash screen appears and seems to be conducting a normal startup process, but when the status message reports
Loading org.eclipse.ui.navigator
all progress halts, apparently forever.
REACTIONS TO ADVICE AND DIAGNOSTICS:
A related question caused me to add -clean to the shortcut. This did not help.
The first actual answer suggested reinstalling Eclipse. This did not help.
The second response suggested that I look at Eclipse log files. The first file suggested was most recently updated May 5, long before the problems started, and the second suggested file did not exist.
Moving the old workspace to a different file name and reinstalling Eclipse again with a brand-new workspace enabled me to launch Eclipse successfully, but if I switch workspaces to the new workspace, it hangs (at the same point).
The problem appears to be loading a plugin named org.eclipse.ui.navigator. There is no such plugin in {workspace}\.metadata\.plugins, in either the old workspace or the new workspace. I don't know why Eclipse is trying to load that nonexistent plugin when it tries to run from the old workspace but not from the new workspace. As far as I can tell I need to find some way to install the navigator plugin in the old workspace (without being able to run Eclipse from that workspace), or somehow tell Eclipse not to try to load it. I have no idea how to do either.
Running Eclipse Neon, on a Win10 machine; Eclipse ran normally as of a few days earlier and only started hanging May 22.
Had the same problem today. It was resolved after removing the following folders from the [workspace]/.metadata/.plugins folder:
org.eclipse.e4.ui.workbench.swt
org.eclipse.e4.workbench

Project in Eclipse break when I launch it today

This morning I just open Eclipse and find my project (which was working perfectly last time I worked on it and ran it) with tons of errors.
Error with package: "java.lang.Class cannot be resolved" same for java.lang.Object
I tried to add in library my JRE again so the error on package is fixed with this but now ALL other lines of my project (all my imports in each file, all my class , ...) contain an error so I don't understand 2 days ago my packages and imports were well imported into my project and everything goes well and no it's like all my project just break and now I don't find the solution to solve this ..
Please help
Hi all,
Finally I re-add a JDK and install all packages updated for eclipse and now I just have errors with my imports it seems eclipse doesn't find the imports I want I think it's because I start my project to the university and want to continue it at home on my own computer so do you know how should I add this imports and then eclipse can use them ? (on eclipse Juno 4.3)
Thanks for answers
Go to 'Configure Build Path' and add the required libraries

Cannot build jhipster project in eclipse

I cannot build a simple project (just created with yo jhipster) in Eclipse.
I'm getting the error:
Maven Dependency Problem
Missing artifact com.sun:tools:jar:1.6
Thare are other errors too but i think this is the one that is causing problems.
I can compile and run the same project from command line with mvn spring-boot:run
I googled for the error and found lots of solutions but unfortunately none worked.
If i check Eclipse configuration i can see that java.home points to C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7 no matter what i do.
I tried to edit the eclipse.ini file adding -vm C:\Progra~1\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\bin\javaw.exe
I also double checked that my workspace and project are using a Jdk and not a Jre Vm.
Can someone please point me to the right direction please?
Thanks!
I had the same issue before... you are probably running your Eclipse with a JRE rather than a JDK. The sun tools jar is actually part of the latest JDK, and doesn't necessarily need to be inferred directly in your project.
See my comments, issue #1, in the attached link:
JHipster Eclipse project running out of memory in "main"
Try with STS and everything works. Seems to be an issue with your eclispe
I've imported the sample jhipster in Eclise (without STS) and everything was OK, after installing the maven dependencies.
To run the project, run as an application and search for the Application (com.mycompany.myapp.Application)

Maven options in Eclipse disappeared

I restarted my computer, and rebooted my VM with Ubuntu 12.04 on it and, I restarted Eclipse. Then I noticed that there were errors regarding the build, so I did a 'mvn clean install' on the repo in the terminal, and after that I re-imported the Maven project in Eclipse (when the option was still available). After the import finished I noticed that it said that mvn is missing the 'unpack' command in m2e. So I thought, that I needed to update the software so I went into Help > Check for Updates, and then I guess it found a better version of m2e, but now the 'Import Existing Maven Project' is gone now. I tried importing it regularly, however the 'src/java/main' and 'src/java/test' aren't distinguished as different special folders.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, what did you do to solve the problem.
Thanks in advance,
ejay
If you right cliok the project and select Configure, does it offer to convert the project to Maven nature?
Generally, using the "clean" option on any tool will delete files and folders that are considered "secondary", i.e. they can be recreated easily. That might include some config files in this case.
