Intermittent connection timeouts to Solr server using SolrJ - java

It seems I'm having the same problem as described in this post, except I'm using the SolrJ client. Since that question remains unanswered, I'm posting my own here.
I get intermittent SolrServerExceptions (Connection refused caused by a Connection timed out) on an otherwise well-running setup. The SolrJ client and Solr server are both running on AWS EC2 instances (Bitnami Ubuntu AMIs) that are talking to each other just fine. It's just that every once in a while (several times a day) I see these errors in the tomcat logs (on the client side only! There is no evidence on the server log that anything went wrong). I can't tell for sure, but the timeouts seem to be getting logged about 30s after the query is issued.
This is a new system with two cores, each with < 1000 indexed documents running as a single instance (no zookeeper). Traffic volume is very low at this point.
Here is the complete stacktrace:

UPDATE: SolrJ is version 4.6.0, the Solr server is 4.7.1. I think we've narrowed it down to a problem with SolrJ client connections and/or network issues. I came to this conclusion by looking at the logs for Apache that sits in front of Solr, and there are no errors or entries in the access logs for the failed connections. If Apache isn't even getting the requests, then the Solr server can be eliminated as the problem.
Does SolrJ use any type of HTTP connection pooling? Perhaps I'm hitting a stale or orphaned connection.

JDBC - phpMyAdmin MySQL Can't login to database?

I'm hosting a web application through OpenShift. I added a MySQL database and created it with phpMyAdmin. Now, I think my server name is the name it shows on the phpMyAdmin page (127.01.201.302 for example). Now, I created a user 'localhostOnly' with the same password, I set the host to 'localhost' and priviliges to the insert, select update and delete.
But when i try to connect to it with the:
jdbc:mysql://127.01.201.302:3306/DB_NAME and using those login credentials, it gives this error:

By having a look at the last line of the entire error-trace. I can assume that your program failed to locate your server by given URL. I think you might be missing port number for your MySQL server. If you haven't changed your port number, then it's most likely 3307 by default. Change your Database Source URL from
jdbc:mysql://127.01.201.302/DB_NAME
to
jdbc:mysql://127.01.201.302:3307/DB_NAME

J2EE connect remote Oracle DB table

I am using Windows 7, 64 bit and using Eclipse for J2EE. I want to display the values from Oracle database through J2EE code. I tried with oracle tutorial. But I am getting the below error in Eclipse console. Please suggest me.
additional details:
1. In remote oracle settings, I could see the Service-Name enabled, but not SID enabled.
2. My service name is 'sample.lan' and ofcourse I am working inside lan. whether I need to make any changes If I am connecting remote oracleDB table through LAN?

Make sure that you can reach port 1521 of your database host from wherever you are executing your java code.
Make sure too that you can connect to your database with some standard database client (SQL*plus for example) in order to check if your database is configured right
Check your connection URL to make sure if it is right (docs on that here http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/JDBC)
Besides that, just a remark: if your idea is to educate yourself or learn JDBC, this is perfectly right; if your code is intended for production, I strongly advise you against mixing database access into your presentantion layer (JSP). I suggest you consider in that case to split your application in layers defined by its responsability. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multitier_architecture

Apache Camel proxy Unknownhost Error

I have a problem when i am getting request parameter from exposed service and setting it to another Service, i get an error. I have tried other ways to solve this problem but i am not getting the desired output. This is the most solvable way. but i have encountered An unknown host error. I know it will give me an error. but i dunno how to resolve it.

What should i acutally use instead of dummyHost there. Please let me kno. Thanks!
If you want to rout the request to other host, you need to specify a real host instead of dummyHost which cannot be resolved.
I don't know if this is a bug or a feature, but if any options are added to the dummyhost URI, then Camel treats the URI as a real host address even if the Exchange.HTTP_URI header is set. Thus, in order to prevent a UnknownHostException, the options bridgeEndpoint=true&throwExceptionOnFailure=false have to be removed.

Could not connect to SMTP host: IP address, port: 25; Caused by: java.net.SocketException

The email program worked perfectly fine with the SMTP server of my company. The SMTP server changed, and I only changed the hostname configuration of my email program. We have tested the mail server and we are sure it is possible to send an email from there to our email addresses. My application is written in java, and uploaded on Tomcat Server. This server is able to ping the mail server, and telnet works from this server.
I really want to know why I am getting the following exception, thanks for any guidance.
I am getting the exception of javax.mail.MessagingException:

Eclipse with tomcat : java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException when I try running a web service client

I am developing a SOAP web service with Axis2/Eclipse/Tomcat and I'm hitting java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException when I try running the web service client.
I have two projects on Eclipse: MyWebService, which contains the actual source code and from where I generate the wsdl; and MyWebServiceClient, which contains the proxy, service locator, soap binding stub, etc. (generated automatically by Eclipse)
The java methods that are later exposed as SOAP methods work normally when they're run as a Java application.
I changed the code a few times and replaced the method bodies with dummy contents (e.g., return 1 or return true straight away, without any logic processing). The stubs have worked perfectly.
In this sense one thing I noticed is that the problem only happens when I instantiate a class from "MyWebService" project on my JSP file (which sits on the Client project). And this led me to another thought: where are the references to "MyWebService" classes in the "MyWebServiceClient"? (I couldn't find any...)
The client was generated automatically, so I believe I am missing something here... If the references to the WS are missing, what would be the correct way to add them into MyWebServiceClient?
Thanks

The hibernate JARs hadn't been included to the web project (WEB-INF/lib), only to the Eclipse project
