I used to compile my project using this command

It always worked until today when I got this error

I downloaded the sample code from GitHub and modified the ReadNodeExample.java just to make sure that I can connect to an OPC Server (not Milo, it's a C#-based OPC Server). I was able to verify that the sample code is able to read/write/call nodes from my server with the modifications.
I then reimplemented what I thought I needed into my actual project, but I might be missing something since I cannot connect under this project and receive the following error:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: 'io.netty.buffer.ByteBuf io.netty.buffer.ByteBuf.writeMediumLE(int)'
This error happens in the ClientExampleRunner.run() while running createClient()
I can still run the sample project and still connects.

The org.milo is added near the end and I added what I saw was added from the sample (included ch.qos.logback and jetbrains). Then added the io.netty thinking it would help, but still have the same error.

In the ClientExample, I only changed the EndpointUrl.
It seems that your actual project has an old version of Netty somewhere on its classpath.
ByteBuf::writeMediumLE (and all the other LE-suffixed ByteBuf methods) were introduced in Netty 4.1.
I am abe to run my Junit runner for Cucumber using maven command line. My runner file is located in /src/java/test/Runners/ directory. Following is the command that I am using:

I have tried different versions of surefire plugin but in vain. The test passes all the time even if I launch it directly from the Test Runner as well as via maven command but via maven the build is always marked as failed. If anyone could point me where this error is coming from, it'd be of great help.
UPDATE:
I know the following is not a smart option but replacing the maven surefire plugin like the following fixed my issue without modifying any other dependecy in the pom

It works for Junit Runner Classes but not for TestNG. My tests are now passed and the maven build succeeds as well. If anyone has more generic way of implementing the same for both TestNG and Junit Runner classes, would be absolutely brilliant.
I believe the reason you are seeing the error is due to the way you are passing the test argument.
As per the Maven Surefire's official documentation, you need to pass test class name.
So change your command line argument to -Dtest=OneTest
Edit: Ignore the above answer.
After looking at your pom.xml, one thing is certain that some older version of cucumber-core dependencies were included and also testng dependencies were included. I excluded those dependencies and it's working fine now.
Also, one of the plugin (com.aventstack.extentreports.cucumber.adapter.ExtentCucumberAdapter:) is not compatible with cucumber version > 4.2.0. See this blog. So I removed that plugin.

pls ensure that you add the location of your .class file to your classpath. if your .class file is in the current folder then add . to your classpath. If your class is in a package then call java -classpath . packagename.ClassName
I'm trying to deploy my war file of my Java Spring Application to openshift.
I'm trying to do this with git.
My pom file is build succesfully but my ROOT.war is not deployed...
In Filezilla I can see that my war is in the webapps folder but when I'm trying to reach my website I got a 404 error.

But while i perform a build i get the below error:

My questions are:
What is it causing a null pointer exception while i am performing the build?
This issue happened on my Mac.
I used JAVA_HOME=/usr/libexec/java_home -v 1.8 to switch to JDK 8
echo $JAVA_HOME shows
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home
Turns out this JDK version is problematic.
I fixed it by using JAVA_HOME=/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_341.jdk/Contents/Home (after installing an official JDK8)
Now echo $JAVA_HOME shows
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_341.jdk/Contents/Home
First of all you need to check the liferay version that you are using if it is mentioned in your pom.xml.
Also, the error can be thrown when you try to build your Liferay project using an old version of Maven. Check your Maven Version that you are using using command
mvn -version
Also the JDK that you are using should be correctly mentioned in your POM.xml.
I find comment from khmarbaise as correct because the version might also have been conflicted. Hope this helps.
