Thoughtworks Go Agent : Registration configuration - java

Today only I heard about the Thoughtworks GO and started the installation configuration. Windows Installation is went well and I am able to run the server over HTTP using 8153 ports.
Then I have installed agent in the same box using the localhost. What i am not able to figure out is how to connect the agent automatically using HTTP ? I am getting error in the go agent log that is trying to access the https : //localhost :8153 I am right now not concerned with HTTPS and all. all I want to register the Agent.
One more thing just for FYI. I have enabled user authentication file based. that is working fine.
Please suggest if there is alternate way to change the URL Protocol to HTTPS.

Finally I run the manual installation by downloading the zip for the go server and then I got the server running with both HTTP and HTTPS without any additional efforts.
This answer will be useful is the installation is having issue with the windows installer. Use the zip.
Thanks.

SSO Authentication/Active Directory/weblogic/apache proxy issues

I have been asked to implement seamless SSO authentication against active directory for a weblogic web based application.
After loads of testing and experimentation I have managed to get all the chain working as required.
Users logging in from a windows managed PC and using IE can seamlessly login to the web application.
After that, an apache was configured and installed between the web browser and weblogic in order to perform HTTPS-->HTTP termination. Once this was done the browser stopped performing seamless login - though basic authentication did work;
Investigating further, I noticed that the Authorization header was not forwarded across to weblogic which justifies why the authentication does not take place.
Note that the apache server I am using is 2.2.
Does anybody know if apache explicitly removes the Authorization header? I have also tried increasing the request maximum size to 30KB in case that was the problem
Thank you
We need to install the following package.
apt-get install libapache-mod-auth-kerb
First we have copy the HTTP.keytab (which is generated at "Active Directory") to etc/krb5.keytab like as below.
cp /root/HTTP.keytab /etc/krb5.keytab
Next we will have to give proper permissions.
chown www-data:www-data /etc/krb5.keytab
chmod 400 /etc/krb5.keytab
Next we go to Apache virtual hosts path
vi /etc/apache2/sites-available/default
Add one directory as like below
`<Directory />
AuthName "Kerberos Login"
AuthType Kerberos
Krb5Keytab /etc/krb5.keytab
KrbServiceName HTTP
KrbAuthRealm YOURDOMAIN.LOCAL //It is Domain name of your server
KrbMethodNegotiate on
KrbSaveCredentials on
KrbVerifyKDC on
Require valid-user
</Directory>`
Restart Apache web server
/etc/init.d/apache2 restart
Next go to browser of Active Directory client machine and hit the web server with FQDN of apache server. It will not ask you the password to open that website.
NOTE:
For explorer browser we need set automatic logon with user name and password at security tab
user authentication -> logon -> automatic logon with user name and password
If you found any difficulties please update me.

404 error when i call webservice in java

I have created a jersey web-service in Java and I have the following issue:
When I run the project in my localhost apache tomcat server, I call it with the URL localhost:8080/api/verify? and I haven't any problem.
When I upload it in my web-hosting and I call it with URL myDomainName/api/verify? I get 404 error.
Does anyone know why it's happened?
Thank you in advance
Check your web service to be deployed and successfully started (on 80 port).
Check your hosting security settings to allow access to /api/*.
Please try what others have suggested and also check if your domain name (myDomainName) is the correct one. If you have packed your projected as a war check the name of the generated folder.
Check your DNS server, your firewall, and your load balancer to make sure they are pointing to your app.
Verify if you are using http or https.
Edited to add: make sure your default tomcat port 8080 is there in the load balancer (if you have one). If you don't have one yet try http://yourDomainName:8080/api/verify and see if that's all you need.
Thank you all for your responses.
The problem was resolved by my web hosting support.
The solution was the following:
He changed the mappings (mod jk tomcat connector ) from .jsp to / to fix the issue.

SSO to application with tomcat server on linux and windows with Active Directory

Im implemeting an SSO login feature for an application. Problem is that tomcat server need to be installed on linux or windows - so i cannt use waffle.
I also dont want to use kerberos because i can't enforce client to generate keytab files and also application runs sometimes on localhost or intranet - SPN name is different for this case. Next problem is that i cant modify Active Directory structure (add new computer user etc.).
Finally i think that i should use NTLM to negotiate access to application. Is it right ?
Is there any library like waffle which can let tomcat to handle negotiate ? Or is there other way to do that ?

Apache jMeter is not generating ApacheJMeterTemporaryRootCA.crt certificate for http request recording

I'm following step by step this tutorial to create the certificate ApacheJMeterTemporaryRootCA.crt.
http://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/jmeter_proxy_step_by_step.pdf
However after I hit run nothing related to certificate is showing up, as if I was just running a simple test without recording. It's not even displaying error messages. I have read these threads but they are not helpful for my case:
Does any
- Apache jMeter not generating ApacheJMeterTemporaryRootCA.crt for https recording
- ApacheJMeterTemporaryRootCA.crt not generated
I am using Java 1.7.0,67, Jmeter 2.13 (both are newest versions). I have also followed this page to set up my environment variables
https://wiki.apache.org/jmeter/TestRecording210
Does anyone has an idea about what is missing here?
Thanks a million!!
I had a problem where I'd deleted the certificate and struggled to get it to regenerate.
In the bin folder there is a keystore file called proxyserver.jks, when I deleted that the certificate regenerated on the next start of the test script recorder
In the absolute majority of cases jmeter.log file contains all the answers or at least can help to figure out the cause of the problem.
If below checklist doesn't help - update your question with relevant bit of the JMeter log file.
Use JDK, not JRE
Make sure that you have the following environment variables set:
JAVA_HOME - pointing to JDK installation root
PATH - contains /bin folder of JAVA_HOME
If you using web browser for recording make sure that
"HTTP Proxy" is set to correct JMeter host and port
"Use proxy for all protocols" box is checked
"No proxy for" input doesn't filter out JMeter host (you can clean it)
Refer below image for example proxy settings for Firefox browser:
The easiest way to set up JMeter for recording is using Recording Template (File -> Templates -> Recording), this way you can get JMeter configured for recording in a single click
If above checklist didn't resolve your problem check out Recording HTTPS Traffic with JMeter's Proxy Server guide for troubleshooting tips.
Navigate to HTTP(S) Test Script Recorder, and click the Start button at the bottom.
http://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/jmeter_proxy_step_by_step.pdf
This will start the JMeter proxy server which is used to intercept the browser requests.
A file called ApacheJMeterTemporaryRootCA.crt will be generated in jmeter/bin folder.
Possibly you run test instead of starting proxy server.

Web Service client - Service definition selected is invalid

i am building a web service on eclipse using Apache AXIS 2 Webservice runtime using Apache Tomcat server (apache-tomcat-7.0.23) while running it on tomcat server it sucessfully shows that the web service is running...
But while creating Webservice client to test the web service and using the wsdl url in the server definition (http://localhost:9090/Axis2WSTest/services/Converter?wsdl), this gives below mentioned error and not letting me to create Webservice client:
The service definition selected is invalid
Can you please suggest me the error and possible solution for it?
The problem could be that your wsdl needs http authentication. I was getting the same error in eclipse, but it was because the server I was connecting to needed authentication and was returning a 401 error, so eclipse was saying it wasn't a wsdl. Eclipse doesn't seem to have the functionality to prompt for authentication, I was able to generate a client in netbeans using the same wsdl url because netbeans knows to ask for authentication.
Generate client from http authenticated wsdl
I was searching for the whole day for an answer for this, generally localhost will be added in your bypass proxy list and hence you will not encounter an error.
Go to windows--> preference-->general--> network-connection and see whether localhost is listed in your proxybypass list.If you are trying to access a external wsdl link and you under
some corporate network having proxy firewall you have to set http proxy/https proxy.
Is this how you are trying to generate client stub ?? If yes, just simply create a java project in eclipse, click on it, then press Ctrl+N, select web service client and enter your wsdl url. (make sure you have made sure you can access the wsdl url, by simply giving it in a browser).
Try replacing localhost with the actual IP address. I was facing the same problem and it worked for me this way
I had exactly same situation. For me the following worked:
I got the lead from rdp's response - "Try replacing localhost with the actual IP address. I was facing the same problem and it worked for me this way"
Using IP didn't work for me. What worked for me:
Instead of - http://servername/SomeWebService/Service.asmx?WSDL
putting FQDN for servername. For example -
http://servername.my.company.com/SomeWebService/Service.asmx?WSDL
I had the same issue and I was able to generate the stubs using soapUI. Please follow the this post. Which contains GENERATING CLIENT JAVA CODE FOR WSDL USING SOAP UI – AXIS2 WSDL2JAVA. Before that please download apache axis2 binary from here and extract it.
