SLF4J: Class path contains multiple SLF4J bindings with maven - java

I have created cutom logging in my application using - SLF4J, following the BELOW Link,
http://javaeenotes.blogspot.com/2011/12/custom-slf4j-logger-adapter.html
Its working fine with a sample HelloWorldProgram this way,
public class HelloWorld {
public static void main(String[] args) {
Logger logger = LoggerFactory.getLogger(HelloWorld.class);
logger.info("Hello World");
}
}
But if i integrate the same with my maven project , where i am using spring to create log file,
I am getting the below error.Tried many different ways to solve the issue, but no luck.
11:08:59,486 ERROR [STDERR] SLF4J: Class path contains multiple SLF4J bindings.

Can anyone help me in this issue?

As per the link given in the error message (http://www.slf4j.org/codes.html#multiple_bindings), SLF4J is designed to "bind with one and only one underlying logging framework at a time".
You currently have two on your classpath:
your own custom binder (/WEB-INF/classes/org/slf4j/impl/StaticLoggerBinder.class)
and the one from logback-classic
When SLF4J finds multiple bindings it simply randomly picks one and uses that. In your case it picked your custom binding (based on the last line of the error message "Actual binding is of type [org.slf4j.impl.MyLoggerFactory]"), but it is not guaranteed to do this every time.
You basically have two options:
If you want to use your own custom binder then you should remove the logback dependencies from your POM.
Alternatively you can obviously remove your own custom binder (but I am guessing that is not what you want).

I already tried by changing the port no from 10000 to 10001.Still facing the issue.Please any one know this.Thanks for giving yours valuable time.I am using java 1.8 and Hadoop 2.7.3 , Hive 2.1.1.For your information i have created a new project as it is in the github link(didn't import the same project to the workspace)
This error occurred to me when it can't find hive-service-*.jar in hadoop classpath.
Just copy the hive-service-*.jar to your hadoop lib folder or export classpath in hadoop-env.sh. I have mentioned how to add classpath below.
Add this line in hadoop-env.sh:
export HADOOP_CLASSPATH=$HADOOP_CLASSPATH:/usr/local/hive/lib/hive-*.jar
Change the path of the jars to point to hive installation folder.

Swagger-api with dropwizard.io 0.9.1

I try to configure swagger with dropwizard framework 0.9.1.
In my pom.xml :
<dependency>
<groupId>io.swagger</groupId>
<artifactId>swagger-jersey2-jaxrs</artifactId>
<version>1.5.4</version>
<scope>compile</scope>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>com.sun.jersey</groupId>
<artifactId>*</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
but a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
jersey/repackaged/com/google/common/collect/ImmutableMap is thrown.
What is wrong?
The solution is to set the right exclusions in the dependency section:
<dependency>
<groupId>io.swagger</groupId>
<artifactId>swagger-jersey2-jaxrs</artifactId>
<version>1.5.4</version>
<scope>compile</scope>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.glassfish.jersey.containers</groupId>
<artifactId>jersey-container-servlet</artifactId>
</exclusion>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.glassfish.jersey.containers</groupId>
<artifactId>jersey-container-servlet-core</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>

Issue with Integrating resteasy with Spring

I am trying to integrate my resteasy application with spring. Below is my pom dependencies:

But when I build and start my application on Jboss 7.x I am getting the below exception:
Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
org.jboss.resteasy.spi.InjectorFactory.createPropertyInjector(Ljava/lang/Class;)Lorg/jboss/resteasy/spi/PropertyInjector;
Any idea how to resolve the issue?
If the resteasy version of your project was higher than 2.3.5 that is default version that comes with JBoss 7.x, you need to exclude module of JBoss using jboss-deployment-structure.xml:
...<exclusions>
<module name="org.jboss.resteasy.resteasy-jaxrs" />
</exclusions>...
Following you need provide the resteasy jars in your project.
This solved this problem to me.
Hope that helps

Spring-Boot logging with log4j2?

I'm using spring-boot-starter, and would like to configure log4j2.xml to log asynchron + different content to different logfiles.
I created the log4j2 file, but Spring still uses the spring-boot default logging. How can I switch the logging?
I've a better way:
Exclude logback logger:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter</artifactId>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-logging</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
Add log4j2 boot starter:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-log4j2</artifactId>
</dependency>
Source: http://docs.spring.io/spring-boot/docs/1.5.1.RELEASE/reference/htmlsingle/#howto-configure-log4j-for-logging
Enjoy!
Try this:
Exclude spring-boot-starter-logging e.g.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter</artifactId>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-logging</artifactId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
Add dependencies for your logging interface e.g. slf4j
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.logging.log4j</groupId>
<artifactId>log4j-slf4j-impl</artifactId>
<version>2.0.2</version>
</dependency>
Add other logging implementations pointing to chosen logging interface e.g.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
<artifactId>jcl-over-slf4j</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
<artifactId>jul-to-slf4j</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
<artifactId>log4j-over-slf4j</artifactId>
</dependency>
Add your target logging implementation e.g.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.logging.log4j</groupId>
<artifactId>log4j-api</artifactId>
<version>2.0.2</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.logging.log4j</groupId>
<artifactId>log4j-core</artifactId>
<version>2.0.2</version>
</dependency>
And it should work.
This is what worked for me. Having two additional exclusions. Else Application was not picking up log4j and was had conflict
Actual binding is of type [ch.qos.logback.classic.util.ContextSelectorStaticBinder]
<dependency>
<groupId>org.mybatis.spring.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>mybatis-spring-boot-starter</artifactId>
<version>1.0.0</version>
<exclusions>
<exclusion>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-logging</artifactId>
</exclusion>
<exclusion>
<artifactId>logback-classic</artifactId>
<groupId>ch.qos.logback</groupId>
</exclusion>
<exclusion>
<artifactId>log4j-over-slf4j</artifactId>
<groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
</exclusion>
</exclusions>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-log4j2</artifactId>
</dependency>
