jboss & maven: maven build fails due to libraries not opening - java

I am building the jboss EA 6.3 quickstart project "greeter".
I run maven clean install jboss-as:deploy in the project dir as instructed whilist a jboss server is running.
I get the following errors:

I checked the files it tries to open in the maven repo. They all are 1kb large and won't open by winrar. Windows says "file corrupt or damaged".
Other examples (without JSF though) worked just fine.


What is your M2_HOME? You can configure the path in the M2_HOME/conf/settings.xml, e.g.:

I removed the specified files that maven couldn't open. Maven redownloaded them, then it worked just fine.

'cannot find symbol' with Lucene

I was using the 1.4.3 version of Lucene, but i need to use the 8.11.2 now.
The problem is that some of the import completely changed (from the 1.4.3 version):

By now this is well known to developers bug, confirmed on my side, getting the same kafka-to-bigquery template compilation error around DataStreamClient class. Seems the new PR for CacheUtils.java is going to appear soon, more info here.

Unable to compile project from Maven Central

I am trying to compile an older version (2.4.0) of the gwt-servlet project from Maven Central. I have done the following:
1) Downloaded gwt-servlet-2.4.0-sources.jar from Maven Central.
2) Extracted this source .jar into an empty C:/workingdir/src/main/java directory.
3) Downloaded gwt-servlet-2.4.0.pom from Maven Central to C:/workingdir/pom.xml
4) Executed mvn clean, then mvn install.
On mvn install, I get 100 errors and a handful of warnings from the compiler:

I have tried running Maven with an older jdk (jdk1.6.0_45) and have tried compiling other version of gwt-servlet with no luck. Am I missing something? I have been trying every whichway to get this to compile all day. Thanks.

You should probably check out the 2.4.0 tag and build that instead.
It seems (I may be wrong) this version was not even build with Maven, at least no pom.xmls are seen. So it is not a surprise it can't be built with Maven.

Maven error - cannot find symbol - on multimodule project

I downloaded the calendar from exoplatform from this link: https://github.com/exoplatform/calendar and I've trying to generate its war through the command mvn compile war:war. If I run mvn package or mvn install it works fine, but when I add the war:war, compile fails.

I placed them in google drive due to the stack overflow char limit.
I have tried the solutions in stack overflow, like checking the dependencies doing mvn clean install, but whenever I add war:war It returns those errors.

Yes. The proper way to invoke the war goal is :
mvn compile war:war
Now, as you still see the errors, it appears that there could be dependency of one project to another. And, as the dependency couldn't be found in local repository (because you haven't installed that in local repo), the dependency couldn't be added in classpath and hence the errors.
