It's the second time I'm trying to connect to remote database. First time I used this site db4free
and I just used data like this:
server: www.db4free.net
database: mydatabase
username: username
password: mypassword
I could connect succesfully with the same java code I posted above...
I see things are different on these two site so I dont know what I'm doing wrong.
Maybe I should set some port or other thing to dataSource object?

But with JRE7.08 it is running fine. After installing JDK8 it's not running. What was the problem ? Do i need to change any settings. Please help me.
I have found solution for this i.e., configured invalid proxy settings in
Control Panel --> Java --> General --> Network settings and those are differ with browser settings. So, selected Use browser Settings and tried again them it's working fine.
We have 4 load balanced web application servers that serve our .NET app. We use various signed (by us, but not self-signed) Java Applets to interface with several different forms of hardware, mainly POS related. None of the applets do any sort of communication with the servers, they only connect to the host's hardware, using things like the window's print spooler or by interacting with JavaPOS. Additionally, the web servers use a TLS 1.0 certificate for authentication and encryption.
Up until update 55 (Java 7), the Applets have loaded properly and done their job just fine. Now, we get the following errors intermittently and the applets themselves fail to load:

I don't see it trying to connect if I'm running from the IDE. So is this some sort of oracle-based spying attempt? What gives?
I think it's trying to auto-detect a proxy somehow.
I was able to make this go away in the Java Control Panel. On the General tab, in the Network Settings... dialog, switch from Use browser settings to Direct connection.
(I couldn't find any proxy settings specified in either Firefox or IE, though.)
I made a little project with java and a database. I tryed it on another computer and the executable jar works perfectly except for the methods that need to read or write in a database. Your jar is trying to to connect to the database on the computer that it is currently running on (localhost). When you move the jar to another computer, Derby is not running on the new computer (now localhost) and you get the connection error. Change the Derby hostname in your configuration or code to the name of a computer that is running Derby.
The Derby docs have a tutorial on using Derby in server mode here: http://db.apache.org/derby/papers/DerbyTut/ns_intro.html#ns_lookat_code. It describes setting a protocol URL for the database:
protocol = "jdbc:derby://localhost:1527/";
"localhost" refers the current computer that the software is running on. Wherever you are defining this protocl URL, set localhost to the domain name of the computer the server is running on.
You'll also need to make sure that you have network connectivity between your client/jar computer and your database (Derby) server. You probably do if they are both on the same network.
