You can use the replace() method:
<% out.print(url.replace("watch?v=", "embed/")); %>

I am trying to get a one-page input value to another page while clicking the order button.
while I will take a number of item value and click the order button, it will carry the value the order page. The page code is here,
<td><%=rs.getString("product_price")%></td>
<td> <input type="number" name="no_item" value="1" /></td>
<td class="text-center" width="250">
Order
Edit
Delete
</td>
The order page code is here,
<%
statement = connection.createStatement();
String u=request.getParameter("u");
String item_num =request.getParameter("no_item");
int num=Integer.parseInt(u);
String Data = "select * from products_tbl where id='"+num+"'";
rs = statement.executeQuery(Data);
String product_price;
while (rs.next()) {
%>
<input type="hidden" name="id" value='<%=rs.getString("id")%>'/>
<div class="form-group">
<h4 style="float:left; padding-right:8px;">Product Name:</h4> <h4> <%=rs.getString("product_name")%> </h4>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<%
product_price = rs.getString("product_price"); int num1 = Integer.parseInt(product_price); %>
</div>
<%= item_num %>
<%= num1 %>
<%
}
%>
Onclick of order button add the input value in url query string. you have need to use java script in jsp page.
<script>
function order(page, id){
input_value = document.getElementById('no_item').value;
location.href= page+"?u="+id+"&no_item="+input_value;
}
</script>
Add the onclick function within order button.
<a onclick="order('order.jsp', '<%=rs.getString("id")%>')" class="btn btn-success">Order</a>
In order.jsp page you will get the input value.
request.getParameter("no_item");

JSP is a server side technology, which means that if you want to refresh the page you will have to perform a request to the server which will return the new page. It is not possible to just return part of a page through normal JSP mechanisms.
If you want to just refresh the table you will need to use javascript to make an ajax call to the server to get the data you need, and repopulate the table with this data.
I altered code as below in my NewFile.jsp
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script>
var auto = setInterval( function refresh()
{
$("#result").load("DemoFile.jsp");
}, 5000); // refresh every 5000 milliseconds
refresh();
</script>
then created new jsp file named DemoFile.jsp and copied part of code of NewFile.jsp division which I wanted to refresh.
What I'm trying to do is to assign the value of a Scriptlet variable as the source for an image.
Here is the HTML in question:
<div class="row">
<div class="tab-content">
<div class="tab-pane active" id="material">
<h2>Material</h2>
<ul class="thumbnails" id="hover-cap-3col">
<div id="myCarousel" class="carousel slide" data-interval="false">
<!-- Carousel items -->
<div class="carousel-inner">
<div class="active item">
<%
rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT IMG_NAME FROM IMAGES WHERE IMG_NAME LIKE 'Material%'");
ResultSetMetaData rsmd = rs.getMetaData();
int columnCount = rsmd.getColumnCount();
if (rs.next()) {
for (int i = 1; i < columnCount + 1; i++) {
names.add(rs.getString(i));
}
}
for (String name : names) {
String url = "http://localhost:8085/assignment/GetImage?name=" + name;
%>
<a href="http://localhost:8085/assignment/GetImage">
<div class="thumbnail">
<div class="caption"><h4>1</h4></div>
// RIGHT HERE ------> <img src=<%url %> alt="ALT NAME">
<div class="caption-btm"><p>Material A</p></div>
</div></a>
<% } %>
</div>
</div>
At the place where I specify the source for the image (shown by the comment), it gives me the following errors:
Syntax error, insert "AssignmentOperator Expression" to complete
Assignment
Syntax error, insert ";" to complete Statement
Obviously, I can't assign the value to img src="" in that way. Is there any way for me to use the Scriptlet value or should I just scrap it and move on?
In JSP if you want to refer a Java expression in HTLM then you can use <%= expression %>
So it should be
<img src="<%=url %>" alt="ALT NAME">
and not
<img src=<%url %> alt="ALT NAME">
If you want to write the value of an expression to the served page, you must use <%= expr %> construct instead:
<%=url %>
This is called a JSP expression.
I've searched for this question, there are some answers, but not exactly as my question. So, here is my jsp code:
<body>
<%
if (manager.isValid(request.getParameter("username"),request.getParameter("password"))){
out.print("<h1> Welcome ");
out.print(request.getParameter("username") + "</h1>");
} else {
out.print("<h1> Please Try Again </h1> <br />");
out.print("Either your username or password is incorrect. Please Try again <br /> <br />");
}
%>
<%# include file="LoginForm.html" %>
but instead of this, I want to include "loginForm.html" only in "else" block.
How can I do it?
Of course this doesn't work, but you'll guess what I want:
<%
if (manager.isValid(request.getParameter("username"),request.getParameter("password"))){
out.print("<h1> Welcome ");
out.print(request.getParameter("username") + "</h1>");
} else {
out.print("<h1> Please Try Again </h1> <br />");
out.print("Either your username or password is incorrect. Please Try again <br /> <br />");
include file="LoginForm.html" ;
}
%>
I would like to show you a way, try like below. You can try with else instead with if.
<body>
<%
int x = 10;
if(x>10) {
%>
<%#include file="some.html" %>
<%
}
%>
</body>
You could also include reusable html in a jsp file function and call it for printing where needed. e.g.
config.jsp contains
<%!
public void printMenu()
{
%>
HTML HERE
<%!
}
%>
home.jsp contains
<%#include file="config.jsp"%>
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>
<% printMenu(); %>
<div id="PeopleTableContainer" style="width: 800px;"></div>
