java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError with Intellij And Maven - java

I am working with Maven 3.0.5 and Intellij 14.0.2 and Maven is not copying the required Jars in my project's calsspath so I am copying it manually and trying to exccute the main class of my project it is throwing me following error:

The scope of the storm library is provided, which means, that at runtime you have to provide the dependency yourself (this is usually used, when you deploy an application to an application server and the library is already in the appserver). For a standalone application, change the scope to compile (or remove it, since compile is the default). Then the JAR should be in the classpath when running the application.


Probably that is because you are importing storm artifact instead of storm-core.

In my case it was fixed by adding the Add dependencies with “provided” scope to classpath to the IntelliJ run configuration, as described in the IntelliJ docs.

I was Updating my Java Swing project from 1.8 to Open Source JDK 12. So i create a parent App and then a JLink module app, and add parent to my original project.
When i try to run clean package, I got this error:

#org.testng.annotations.Test and #org.junit.Test issues

While writing Mock Test cases, I have encounter a scenario. when I am using #org.junit.Test annotation above test method than Maven build is not finding test method to execute and when I am using #org.testng.annotations.Test annotation than I can't run the test case using eclipse Junit run as or using coverage as (EMMA).
I don't want to use both the annotations above a single test method.

You really shouldn't use both. Decide on one and stick to it. They're both good and share most of the features.
Once you have chosen one, define it explicitly as a maven test phase goal with the Maven Surefire plugin.
Then get your Eclipse plugins straight. If I remember correctly, Eclipse comes with a JUnit plugin preinstalled, but you need to explicitly download the TestNG plugin through the Eclipse marketplace. They both work very similar.
Spring comes with support for both, but the implementation is slightly different. Look up the docs for examples.

How to find out which implementation slf4j is using

I am using slf4j, and it is logging, but it is not using logback as it's supposed to (since changes within the logback(-test).xml do not affect logging behaviour.

Additionally I removed all the indirect references to any logging library (common & log4j) which were present, and since did not provide the slf4j-simple lib, it can't fallback to that, either. Ist there some way to find out what it is using?

I did not realize that when I am using an application server (which I did, Wildfly), the whole logging-configuration etc. is done on serverside, not on applicationside. In my case:

Conflict with Maven Dependencies (Spring & Hibernate)

After trying to integrate Hibernate with Spring in my current project, I finally got my class structure and stuff ready, but now I have a problem with running my web app (Spring MVC).
When I go through the registration process on the web application, I get this exception as soon as I press "Register Now":
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.hibernate.SessionFactory.openSession()Lorg/hibernate/classic/Session;
I already used Google to find out what could cause that exception and I came to the conclusion, that it could be my pom.xml with a dependency conflict in it. Furthermore, I used the graphical dependency tree in IntelliJ IDEA 13.1 Ultimate to fix that problem, but it doesn't show any conflicts.

Just perform Maven update dependencies and then run mvn clean install and redeploy your artifacts.

So, just to make this thing clear, I was using the (as I now know) deprecated and no longer supported HibernateTemplate thing from Spring ORM. After switching to manual transactions with the SessionFactory, everything works perfect.
