The code is as blow, the MediaMetadata meta is from the controller of api MediaSessionManager.OnActiveSessionsChangedListener, it should be created by third-part music app.

Why the getString will parse the bitmap? is it possible the memory is out when this happen?
I think this happens when you put big bitmaps into the MediaMetaData object with .putBitmap(MediaMetadataCompat.METADATA_KEY_DISPLAY_ICON, icon). This bitmap is used on the MediaDescription and thus it should be pretty small as it's serialized. It's actually deserialized every time you call getString on the meta data.
So, the solution to this issue would be to only use small bitmaps for METADATA_KEY_DISPLAY_ICON or not use it at all if possible.

Your code is launching any one of hundreds of possible camera apps. The specific app might have been pre-installed by a device manufacturer, or it might be an app that the user installed.

There is no means of having ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE give you a "fullsize Bitmap" directly. You can either get a thumbnail-sized Bitmap or have it write a full-sized photo to a location of your choice.

No. However, there is nothing stopping you from opening the photo via its file in your activity, then modifying that photo and writing it back out. You could overwrite the original file, or you could write to some new location.
So, for example, if your concern is that you do not want the photo to be in a user-accessible location until your activity is done with it, you could pass a Uri to ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE that points to a private location in getCacheDir(), then have your activity write the final version of the photo to a file on external storage.
Hi everybody I've got the following problem with an adroid app: I want to read an image saved and perform some operations on it.
(I do not need to use this image to draw something on screen, I just have to check the color of some pixels)
I'm using the following code:
Bitmap bitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeFile("drawable-v24/ean13.bmp");
The fact is that the BitmapFactory returns null as a FileNotFoundException is thrown. (by now the file is saved inside res folder)
I don't really understand where I should put the image and how to give the path to the BitmapFactory to be able to get it properly.
(I guess the problem is due to the fact that the image actually is stored on my pc and not on the Android device but I can't understand how should I proceed)

If you are accessing image from resource drawable of mipmap. You should use BitmapFactory.decodeResource to get Bitmap.
Bitmap bitmap=BitmapFactory.decodeResource(getResources(),R.mipmap.ic_launcher);
Or another overloaded version .

where getResources() is method of Activity.
So at certain times I need to clear the Picasso cache within my application, however when I clear it, the image is the same. If the image URL changes, then it pulls the new image but if the image url is the same, then the old image remains.
Can anyone help me clear the cache so that the image is removed?
This is how I set Picasso up:

I have had this same problem and I used this hacky method to get around it. To force it to refresh i would just change the url adding a version tag to it. This is used commonly in web development to make sure things aren't used from the cache.
For example i would load an image from example.com/mypic.png?version=1234
and since the url is different it wouldn't load it from cache.

So found out what the issue was. Turns out for this carousel it was using a different instance of Picasso.
I also had to extend OkHttpDownloader to expose the getClient() method in order to get the cache to delete.
I realised it was a different instance of Picasso by enabling the indicators which can be done by setting the following in the builder
.indicatorsEnabled(true);
I'm trying to change the link _m to _o but I am still unable to get the original flickr image. Is there any possible ways? I am able to provide the full code if needed. I took away the farm as it is unable to contain.

There are a few questions here on SO about capturing screenshots of an android application. However, I haven't found a solid solution on how to take a screenshot programatically using the android SDK or any other method.
So I thought I would ask this question again in the hopes that I can find a good solution, hopefully one that will allow capturing full length images that I can save to the SD card or somewhere similar.

You will most likely not be happy with this answer, but the only ones that I have seen involve using native code, or executing native commands.

Edit2: Checked that library, and it also is a bad solution. Requires that you start the service from a pc. So my initial answer still holds :)
Edit3: You should be able to save a view as an image by doing something similar to this. You might need to tweek it a bit so that you get the width/height of the view. (I'm inflating layouts, and specify the width/height when I layout the code)

I've been able to (with a lot of elbow grease) modify the source to let me automatically capture a timed series of screen shots (which I use for demo videos).
