I have been trying to put permission on my pdf.
I have a method which will set the Access Permission on an instance variable called access
private AccessPermission access = new AccessPermission();
public void setPdfPermissions(boolean allowPrint, boolean degradePrint,
boolean editPage, boolean allowAssembly, boolean allowCopy,
boolean allowReaders, boolean editAnnotation, boolean allowFillIn) {
if (allowPrint) { // allow printing
access.setCanPrint(allowPrint);
}
if (degradePrint) { // degrade printing
access.setCanPrintDegraded(allowAssembly);
}
if (editPage) { // edit page contents
access.setCanModify(editPage);
}
if (allowAssembly) { // insert, remote or rotate page
access.setCanAssembleDocument(allowAssembly);
}
if (allowCopy) { // copy page contents or graphics
access.setCanExtractForAccessibility(allowCopy);
}
if (allowReaders) { // screen readers can copy contents or graphics
access.setReadOnly();
}
if (editAnnotation) { // edit annotations
access.setCanModifyAnnotations(editAnnotation);
}
if (allowFillIn) { // fill form fields
access.setCanFillInForm(allowFillIn);
}
}
and then I m saving the access in security handler
StandardSecurityHandler secHandler = new StandardSecurityHandler();
if((userPass != null) || (ownerPass != null)) {
System.out.println("userPass:"+userPass+"owner pass:"+userPass);
// TODO
StandardProtectionPolicy policy = new StandardProtectionPolicy(ownerPass.toString(), userPass.toString(),
access);
secHandler = new StandardSecurityHandler(policy);
document.setSecHandler(secHandler);
When Im passing false for values like setPrint as false, Its allowing me to print. Any help is highly appreciated.
In addition to #Tilman's answer, the first code block also is wrong:
For each boolean parameter, setPdfPermissions only does something if the value is true, e.g.:
if (allowPrint) { // allow printing
access.setCanPrint(allowPrint);
}
This would work if the permission by default was not granted. Looking at the definition of the AccessPermission default constructor, though, one sees that the contrary is the case, e.g. in the code from 1.8.10:
/**
* Create a new access permission object.
* By default, all permissions are granted.
*/
public AccessPermission()
{
bytes = DEFAULT_PERMISSIONS;
}
Thus, setPdfPermissions essentialis is a big NOP (no-operation) block of code.
Your second code block is wrong. The correct way (at least for the 1.8 versions) to encrypt a file is described here. So for you, the correct code would be:
// owner password to open the file with all permissions
// user password to open the file but with restricted permissions, can be empty
StandardProtectionPolicy spp = new StandardProtectionPolicy(ownerPass, userPass, access);
spp.setEncryptionKeyLength(128);
doc.protect(spp);
edit: see also the answer by mkl why your 1st code segment is wrong too :-)

I'm trying to develop a small Application for a Zebra handheld rfid reader and can't find a way to access the MemoryBank of the tag. My reader configuration is as follows:
private void ConfigureReader() {
if (reader.isConnected()) {
TriggerInfo triggerInfo = new TriggerInfo();
triggerInfo.StartTrigger.setTriggerType(START_TRIGGER_TYPE.START_TRIGGER_TYPE_IMMEDIATE);
triggerInfo.StopTrigger.setTriggerType(STOP_TRIGGER_TYPE.STOP_TRIGGER_TYPE_IMMEDIATE);
try {
// receive events from reader
if (eventHandler == null){
eventHandler = new EventHandler();
}
reader.Events.addEventsListener(eventHandler);
// HH event
reader.Events.setHandheldEvent(true);
// tag event with tag data
reader.Events.setTagReadEvent(true);
reader.Events.setAttachTagDataWithReadEvent(true);
// set trigger mode as rfid so scanner beam will not come
reader.Config.setTriggerMode(ENUM_TRIGGER_MODE.RFID_MODE, true);
// set start and stop triggers
reader.Config.setStartTrigger(triggerInfo.StartTrigger);
reader.Config.setStopTrigger(triggerInfo.StopTrigger);
} catch (InvalidUsageException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} catch (OperationFailureException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
And the eventReadNotify looks like this:
public void eventReadNotify(RfidReadEvents e) {
// Recommended to use new method getReadTagsEx for better performance in case of large tag population
TagData[] myTags = reader.Actions.getReadTags(100);
if (myTags != null) {
for (int index = 0; index < myTags.length; index++) {
Log.d(TAG, "Tag ID " + myTags[index].getTagID());
ACCESS_OPERATION_CODE aoc = myTags[index].getOpCode();
ACCESS_OPERATION_STATUS aos = myTags[index].getOpStatus();
if (aoc == ACCESS_OPERATION_CODE.ACCESS_OPERATION_READ && aos == ACCESS_OPERATION_STATUS.ACCESS_SUCCESS) {
if (myTags[index].getMemoryBankData().length() > 0) {
Log.d(TAG, " Mem Bank Data " + myTags[index].getMemoryBankData());
}
}
}
}
}
When I'm scanning a tag I get the correct TagID but both myTags[index].getOpCode() and myTags[index].getOpStatus() return null values.
I appreciate every suggestion that might lead to a successful scan.
Thanks.
I managed to find a solution for my problem. To perform any Read or Write task with Zebra Handheld Scanners the following two conditions must be satisfied. Look here for reference: How to write to RFID tag using RFIDLibrary by Zebra?
// make sure Inventory is stopped
reader.Actions.Inventory.stop();
// make sure DPO is disabled
reader.Config.setDPOState(DYNAMIC_POWER_OPTIMIZATION.DISABLE);
You have to stop the inventory and make sure to disable dpo in order to get data other than the TagID from a Tag. Unfortunately this isn't mentioned in the docu for Reading RFID Tags.
I am currently attempting to read/write to memory through the use of JNA for Java. For the past week I have tried a multitude of solutions, mostly from [similar projects][1] I have found online, but nothing has resolved my problem.
I know I am receiving the correct process ID of the program, then I create a Pointer using the openProcess method. Then I call getBaseAddress using the newly created Pointer. The problem I believe lies within the EnumProcessModules/Psapi method/class.
Truthfully I am slightly in over my head but this is one of the last issues I am having with this program. My overall goal is to find the base address of the program, use various offsets to access the information I am trying to modify, and then modify it appropriately. The program is 32-bit, which I have seen other people say you need to use a EnumProcessModulesEx method for? but truthfully I am unsure of how/where to implement that.
Any help would be appreciated!
You're getting an Access Denied error because Windows requires you to enable Debug privilege on your current process before accessing the memory of another process. So you will need to both run your program as Administrator, and before you call your OpenProcess code, enable debug privilege.
Here's the JNA code in my application that does this. It's a static method as I only call it once for the entire application:
/**
* Enables debug privileges for this process, required for OpenProcess() to get
* processes other than the current user
*
* #return {#code true} if debug privileges were successfully enabled.
*/
private static boolean enableDebugPrivilege() {
HANDLEByReference hToken = new HANDLEByReference();
boolean success = Advapi32.INSTANCE.OpenProcessToken(Kernel32.INSTANCE.GetCurrentProcess(),
WinNT.TOKEN_QUERY | WinNT.TOKEN_ADJUST_PRIVILEGES, hToken);
if (!success) {
LOG.error("OpenProcessToken failed. Error: {}", Native.getLastError());
return false;
}
try {
WinNT.LUID luid = new WinNT.LUID();
success = Advapi32.INSTANCE.LookupPrivilegeValue(null, WinNT.SE_DEBUG_NAME, luid);
if (!success) {
LOG.error("LookupPrivilegeValue failed. Error: {}", Native.getLastError());
return false;
}
WinNT.TOKEN_PRIVILEGES tkp = new WinNT.TOKEN_PRIVILEGES(1);
tkp.Privileges[0] = new WinNT.LUID_AND_ATTRIBUTES(luid, new DWORD(WinNT.SE_PRIVILEGE_ENABLED));
success = Advapi32.INSTANCE.AdjustTokenPrivileges(hToken.getValue(), false, tkp, 0, null, null);
int err = Native.getLastError();
if (!success) {
LOG.error("AdjustTokenPrivileges failed. Error: {}", err);
return false;
} else if (err == WinError.ERROR_NOT_ALL_ASSIGNED) {
LOG.debug("Debug privileges not enabled.");
return false;
}
} finally {
Kernel32.INSTANCE.CloseHandle(hToken.getValue());
}
return true;
}
I'm not sure from looking at your code whether you also have the right permissions for OpenProcess. Be sure you have the VM_READ permission. Here's what I use, your mileage may vary (I assume you'll need writing permissions as well).
final HANDLE pHandle = Kernel32.INSTANCE.OpenProcess(
WinNT.PROCESS_QUERY_INFORMATION | WinNT.PROCESS_VM_READ,
false, processID);
I have used below mentioned API of dcm4che2 from this repository http://www.dcm4che.org/maven2/dcm4che/ in my java project.
dcm4che-core-2.0.29.jar
org.dcm4che2.data.DicomObject
org.dcm4che2.io.StopTagInputHandler
org.dcm4che2.data.BasicDicomObject
org.dcm4che2.data.UIDDictionary
org.dcm4che2.data.DicomElement
org.dcm4che2.data.SimpleDcmElement
org.dcm4che2.net.service.StorageCommitmentService
org.dcm4che2.util.CloseUtils
dcm4che-net-2.0.29.jar
org.dcm4che2.net.CommandUtils
org.dcm4che2.net.ConfigurationException
org.dcm4che2.net.NetworkApplicationEntity
org.dcm4che2.net.NetworkConnection
org.dcm4che2.net.NewThreadExecutor
org.dcm4che3.net.service.StorageService
org.dcm4che3.net.service.VerificationService
Currently i want to migrate to dcm4che3 but, above listed API is not found in dcm4che3 which i have downloaded from this repository http://sourceforge.net/projects/dcm4che/files/dcm4che3/
Could you please guide me for alternate approach?
As you have already observed, the BasicDicomObject is history -- alongside quite a few others.
The new "Dicom object" is Attributes -- an object is a collection of attributes.
Therefore, you create Attributes, populate them with the tags you need for RQ-behaviour (C-FIND, etc) and what you get in return is another Attributes object from which you pull the tags you want.
In my opinion, dcm4che 2.x was vague on the subject of dealing with individual value representations. dcm4che 3.x is quite a bit clearer.
The migration demands a rewrite of your code regarding how you query and how you treat individual tags. On the other hand, dcm4che 3.x makes the new code less convoluted.
On request, I have added the initial setup of a connection to some service class provider (SCP):
// Based on org.dcm4che:dcm4che-core:5.25.0 and org.dcm4che:dcm4che-net:5.25.0
import org.dcm4che3.data.*;
import org.dcm4che3.net.*;
import org.dcm4che3.net.pdu.AAssociateRQ;
import org.dcm4che3.net.pdu.PresentationContext;
import org.dcm4che3.net.pdu.RoleSelection;
import org.dcm4che3.net.pdu.UserIdentityRQ;
// Client side representation of the connection. As a client, I will
// not be listening for incoming traffic (but I could choose to do so
// if I need to transfer data via MOVE)
Connection local = new Connection();
Hostname("client.on.network.com");
Port(Connection.NOT_LISTENING);
// Remote side representation of the connection
Connection remote = new Connection();
remote.setHostname("pacs.on.network.com");
remote.setPort(4100);
remote.setTlsProtocols(local.getTlsProtocols());
remote.setTlsCipherSuites(local.getTlsCipherSuites());
// Calling application entity
ApplicationEntity ae = new ApplicationEntity("MeAsAServiceClassUser".toUpperCase());
ae.setAETitle("MeAsAServiceClassUser");
ae.addConnection(local); // on which we may not be listening
ae.setAssociationInitiator(true);
ae.setAssociationAcceptor(false);
// Device
Device device = new Device("MeAsAServiceClassUser".toLowerCase());
device.addConnection(local);
device.addApplicationEntity(ae);
// Configure association
AAssociateRQ rq = new AAssociateRQ();
rq.setCallingAET("MeAsAServiceClassUser");
rq.setCalledAET("NameThatIdentifiesTheProvider"); // e.g. "GEPACS"
rq.setImplVersionName("MY-SCU-1.0"); // Max 16 chars
// Credentials (if appropriate)
String username = "username";
String passcode = "so secret";
if (null != username && username.length() > 0 && null != passcode && passcode.length() > 0) {
rq.setUserIdentityRQ(UserIdentityRQ.usernamePasscode(username, passcode.toCharArray(), true));
}
Example, pinging the PACS (using the setup above):
String[] TRANSFER_SYNTAX_CHAIN = {
UID.ExplicitVRLittleEndian,
UID.ImplicitVRLittleEndian
};
// Define transfer capabilities for verification SOP class
ae.addTransferCapability(
new TransferCapability(null,
/* SOP Class */ UID.Verification,
/* Role */ TransferCapability.Role.SCU,
/* Transfer syntax */ TRANSFER_SYNTAX_CHAIN)
);
// Setup presentation context
rq.addPresentationContext(
new PresentationContext(
rq.getNumberOfPresentationContexts() * 2 + 1,
/* abstract syntax */ UID.Verification,
/* transfer syntax */ TRANSFER_SYNTAX_CHAIN
)
);
rq.addRoleSelection(new RoleSelection(UID.Verification, /* is SCU? */ true, /* is SCP? */ false));
try {
// 1) Open a connection to the SCP
Association association = ae.connect(local, remote, rq);
// 2) PING!
DimseRSP rsp = association.cecho();
rsp.next(); // Consume reply, which may fail
// Still here? Success!
// 3) Close the connection to the SCP
if (as.isReadyForDataTransfer()) {
as.waitForOutstandingRSP();
as.release();
}
} catch (Throwable ignore) {
// Failure
}
Another example, retrieving studies from a PACS given accession numbers; setting up the query and handling the result:
String modality = null; // e.g. "OT"
String accessionNumber = "1234567890";
//--------------------------------------------------------
// HERE follows setup of a query, using an Attributes object
//--------------------------------------------------------
Attributes query = new Attributes();
// Indicate character set
{
int tag = Tag.SpecificCharacterSet;
VR vr = ElementDictionary.vrOf(tag, query.getPrivateCreator(tag));
query.setString(tag, vr, "ISO_IR 100");
}
// Study level query
{
int tag = Tag.QueryRetrieveLevel;
VR vr = ElementDictionary.vrOf(tag, query.getPrivateCreator(tag));
query.setString(tag, vr, "STUDY");
}
// Accession number
{
int tag = Tag.AccessionNumber;
VR vr = ElementDictionary.vrOf(tag, query.getPrivateCreator(tag));
query.setString(tag, vr, accessionNumber);
}
// Optionally filter on modality in study if 'modality' is provided,
// otherwise retrieve modality
{
int tag = Tag.ModalitiesInStudy;
VR vr = ElementDictionary.vrOf(tag, query.getPrivateCreator(tag));
if (null != modality && modality.length() > 0) {
query.setString(tag, vr, modality);
} else {
query.setNull(tag, vr);
}
}
// We are interested in study instance UID
{
int tag = Tag.StudyInstanceUID;
VR vr = ElementDictionary.vrOf(tag, query.getPrivateCreator(tag));
query.setNull(tag, vr);
}
// Do the actual query, needing an AppliationEntity (ae),
// a local (local) and remote (remote) Connection, and
// an AAssociateRQ (rq) set up earlier.
try {
// 1) Open a connection to the SCP
Association as = ae.connect(local, remote, rq);
// 2) Query
int priority = 0x0002; // low for the sake of demo :)
as.cfind(UID.StudyRootQueryRetrieveInformationModelFind, priority, query, null,
new DimseRSPHandler(as.nextMessageID()) {
#Override
public void onDimseRSP(Association assoc, Attributes cmd,
Attributes response) {
super.onDimseRSP(assoc, cmd, response);
int status = cmd.getInt(Tag.Status, -1);
if (Status.isPending(status)) {
//--------------------------------------------------------
// HERE follows handling of the response, which
// is just another Attributes object
//--------------------------------------------------------
String studyInstanceUID = response.getString(Tag.StudyInstanceUID);
// etc...
}
}
});
// 3) Close the connection to the SCP
if (as.isReadyForDataTransfer()) {
as.waitForOutstandingRSP();
as.release();
}
}
catch (Exception e) {
// Failure
}

I am working on an android app used to access a Box account. The problem I am facing is how to determine a folder/file in the user's account is read only (shared with him/her as a Viewer) so that the upload/delete operations can be disabled.
What I currently do is:
1) Get the items in a folder:
BoxCollection itemsCollection = _boxClient.getFoldersManager()
.getFolderItems(folderId, folderContentRequest);
String userMail = ...
ArrayList<BoxTypedObject> result = null;
2) Determine which one is folder, get it's collaborations, check if it's accessible by the logged-in user, and check whether he is an editor:
if (itemsCollection != null) {
result = itemsCollection.getEntries();
for(BoxTypedObject boxObject : result) {
if(boxObject instanceof BoxAndroidFolder) {
BoxAndroidFolder folder = (BoxAndroidFolder)boxObject;
List<BoxCollaboration> folderCollaborations = _boxClient.getFoldersManager().getFolderCollaborations(folder.getId(), null);
for(BoxCollaboration collaboration : folderCollaborations) {
if( userMail.equalsIgnoreCase(collaboration.getAccessibleBy().getLogin()) &&
!BoxCollaborationRole.EDITOR.equalsIgnoreCase(collaboration.getRole()))
System.out.println("" + folder.getName() + " is readonly");
}
}
}
}
So, is there a simpler and faster (fewer requests) way to get that property of a folder with the android SDK?
You can first check the owner of the folder (folder.getOwnedBy()), if it's the current user then you don't need to check collaborations. However if it's not the current user you'll have to check collaborations.
Busy trying to Call RPG function from Java and got this example from JamesA. But now I am having trouble, here is my code:
AS400 system = new AS400("MachineName");
ProgramCall program = new ProgramCall(system);
try
{
// Initialise the name of the program to run.
String programName = "/QSYS.LIB/LIBNAME.LIB/FUNNAME.PGM";
// Set up the 3 parameters.
ProgramParameter[] parameterList = new ProgramParameter[2];
// First parameter is to input a name.
AS400Text OperationsItemId = new AS400Text(20);
parameterList[0] = new ProgramParameter(OperationsItemId.toBytes("TestID"));
AS400Text CaseMarkingValue = new AS400Text(20);
parameterList[1] = new ProgramParameter(CaseMarkingValue.toBytes("TestData"));
// Set the program name and parameter list.
program.setProgram(programName, parameterList);
// Run the program.
if (program.run() != true)
{
// Report failure.
System.out.println("Program failed!");
// Show the messages.
AS400Message[] messagelist = program.getMessageList();
for (int i = 0; i < messagelist.length; ++i)
{
// Show each message.
System.out.println(messagelist[i]);
}
}
// Else no error, get output data.
else
{
AS400Text text = new AS400Text(50);
System.out.println(text.toObject(parameterList[1].getOutputData()));
System.out.println(text.toObject(parameterList[2].getOutputData()));
}
}
catch (Exception e)
{
//System.out.println("Program " + program.getProgram() + " issued an exception!");
e.printStackTrace();
}
// Done with the system.
system.disconnectAllServices();
The application Hangs at this lineif (program.run() != true), and I wait for about 10 minutes and then I terminate the application.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Edit
Here is the message on the job log:
Client request - run program QSYS/QWCRTVCA.
Client request - run program LIBNAME/FUNNAME.
File P6CASEL2 in library *LIBL not found or inline data file missing.
Error message CPF4101 appeared during OPEN.
Cannot resolve to object YOBPSSR. Type and Subtype X'0201' Authority
FUNNAME insert a row into table P6CASEPF through a view called P6CASEL2. P6CASEL2 is in a different library lets say LIBNAME2. Is there away to maybe set the JobDescription?
Are you sure FUNNAME.PGM is terminating and not hung with a MSGW? Check QSYSOPR for any messages.
Class ProgramCall:
NOTE: When the program runs within the host server job, the library list will be the initial library list specified in the job description in the user profile.
So I saw that my problem is that my library list is not setup, and for some reason, the user we are using, does not have a Job Description. So to over come this I added the following code before calling the program.run()
CommandCall command = new CommandCall(system);
command.run("ADDLIBLE LIB(LIBNAME)");
command.run("ADDLIBLE LIB(LIBNAME2)");
This simply add this LIBNAME, and LIBNAME2 to the user's library list.
Oh yes, the problem is Library list not set ... take a look at this discussion on Midrange.com, there are different work-around ...
