Missing artifact org.hibernate:hibernate-entitymanager:jar:4.3.6.FINAL

**[> I am having a spring MVC project where I want to integrate Hibernate, however when I am adding Hibernate dependencies to POM.xml
file it showing error "Missing artifact
org.hibernate:hibernate-entitymanager:jar:4.3.6.FINAL" and the jar
dependency is not getting resollved. Same thing is happening with the
jdbc14 jar
I tried different versions of the jar but still the issue persists.][1]**

I expect the jars to be downloaded, please tell me if I am missing something.

Java Maven project build failure

I have created a Java project to push data to an Apache Kafka server (this project is error free, according to my IDE).
When I try to run Maven -> Install, my build fails.
I receive the following error:

If I am going to delete data from the m2. folder and try to update project, its taking more time(for 2 hours only 2% update). and also it affects all other project in workspace.
Let me know how to resolve the issue in eclipse.

Try to run maven with mvn clean install -U.
It will force a re-download of all the JARs, so if one is corrupted it will get a new copy. It sounds similar to corruption issues noted here: Deploying Maven project throws java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid LOC header (bad signature).
They recommend other solutions; but I think -U may suffice.

This error usually indicates a corrupted jar in your repository.
One way to fix is the issue is to remove just the relevant jars from your maven repo (usually /home/[user]/.m2/repository/) , and re-try.

When I create one project in spring it run properly. But when I import a simple hello world project, it shows error. pom.xml can bulid sucessfully. But It can not run. the error shows.

However, here you can see a very good tutorial with github example on Spring MVC annotation config, they prefer annotation config last time.
Take a look at Spring Security Hello World Java Config Tutorial it's also an axample of how to use Spring MVC with maven but with Spring Security.
Compare them with your project, hope it will help.

Spring MVC Maven Modules

Let's say that I want to have 3 maven modules:
parent
login
webapp
I want to have Java classes & jsp files in both modules (login & webapp). My workaround partially works, it builds one WAR file, web pages are rendered, looks fine, but when I try to use API (interfaces from login module) in webapp module - classes can not be found. I think that something is wrong with POM files.
POMs are almost the same, the main difference between login & webapp poms - that webapp has dependency with login.

By what you described you should consider maven overlays.
An overlay of a WAR file, is simply a Maven project that uses another
project's WAR output as a dependency, rather than a project's JAR.
When the overlay project is built, the underlying project's WAR file
is exploded and files in the overlay project added to it. If an
overlay project has a file with the same path and name as a file in
the underlying WAR it will replace it.
You would include the war from one module in the same way as you do now, and override the files (either classes or static resources) in your current module. A blog that explains more, and a step-by-step guide.

Conflict with Maven Dependencies (Spring & Hibernate)

After trying to integrate Hibernate with Spring in my current project, I finally got my class structure and stuff ready, but now I have a problem with running my web app (Spring MVC).
When I go through the registration process on the web application, I get this exception as soon as I press "Register Now":
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.hibernate.SessionFactory.openSession()Lorg/hibernate/classic/Session;
I already used Google to find out what could cause that exception and I came to the conclusion, that it could be my pom.xml with a dependency conflict in it. Furthermore, I used the graphical dependency tree in IntelliJ IDEA 13.1 Ultimate to fix that problem, but it doesn't show any conflicts.

Your error indicates that your code is not recompiled after change in dependencies.
Just perform Maven update dependencies and then run mvn clean install and redeploy your artifacts.

So, just to make this thing clear, I was using the (as I now know) deprecated and no longer supported HibernateTemplate thing from Spring ORM. After switching to manual transactions with the SessionFactory, everything works perfect.
