I am trying to install maven 1.5 in eclipse unfortunately I am getting errors like:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: m2e - Maven Integration for Eclipse (includes Incubating components) 1.5.0.20140606-0033 (org.eclipse.m2e.feature.feature.group 1.5.0.20140606-0033)
Missing requirement: Maven Integration for Eclipse 1.5.0.20140606-0033 (org.eclipse.m2e.core 1.5.0.20140606-0033) requires 'bundle com.google.guava [14.0.1,16.0.0)' but it could not be found
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: m2e - Maven Integration for Eclipse (includes Incubating components) 1.5.0.20140606-0033 (org.eclipse.m2e.feature.feature.group 1.5.0.20140606-0033)
To: org.eclipse.m2e.core [1.5.0.20140606-0033]
EClipse juno doesnt support maven 1.5..still they have not added capability of 1.5
so try 1.4 or 1.3

MAVEN INSTALLATION
OPTION 1 :
Open Eclipse IDE
Click Help -> Install New Software...
Click Add button at top right corner
At pop up: fill up Name as "M2Eclipse" and Location as http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases/1.4
Now click OK
After that installation would be started.
OPTION 2 :-
Open Eclipse
Go to Help -> Eclipse Marketplace
Search by Maven
Click "Install" button at "Maven Integration for Eclipse" section
Follow the instruction step by step
After successful installation do the followings in Eclipse:
Go to Window --> Preferences
Observe, Maven is enlisted at left panel
Finally,
Click on an existing project
Select Configure -> Convert to Maven Project
This is because maven 1.5 is not compatible with eclipse juno.
So we need to use maven 1.4 or 1.3
Steps to install maven 1.4 is below
Click Help in eclipse
Install New Software
Url for the location of site is "http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases"
Uncheck the checkbox "Show only the latest versions of available software"
if do not uncheck the checkbox it will only latest version and do not show maven 1.4.
Select m2e and slf4j of 1.4 version and click next.
Note: maven v 1.3 is compatible, correct url for juno: download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases/1.3
If all the above options don't work, then first install the WST plugin in your eclipse.
In order to do that, in Eclipse Juno, go to Install New Software > Add, under Name place Juno and under Location URL insert http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno.
Then, select WST Server Adapters under Web, XML, Java, ... (last option of the list).
Accept licensing agreement and restart Eclipse.
Then resume the usual procedure to install Maven.
Choose menu Help \ Install New Software..., then add this repository link:
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases/1.2/1.2.0.20120903-1050/
Then install for Eclipse WTP (Web Tool Platform) Juno 4.2.
Uncheck the option "Select only the latest version of this software", so that versions of the plugin compatible to your eclipse will be displayed, you can select one of them.
download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/releases/1.3 has worked for
Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
Version: Indigo Service Release 2
Build id: 20120216-1857

I've been using Eclipse for programming and testing Storm just fine, however, I created an SVN account, where I commit the project, and for that, I needed the SVN plugin for Eclipse. It worked, but after that, i get this message on a popup error window when I try to launch:
Referenced classpath provider does not exist:
org.eclipse.m2e.launchconfig.classpathProvider
I realised that in the "configure" menu, the option "convert to maven project" (right click on project) disappeared. The "runAs" options for the java topology doesn't run with this error, and the "pom.xml" cannot be run as maven.
Possible fix tried:
I tried to reinstall all maven builders to Eclipse(it doesn't let me to unninstall).
I tried to rebuild config by:
mvn eclipse:clean eclipse:eclipse
None of this worked, my Eclipse version is:
Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
Version: Mars.1 Release (4.5.1)
Build id: 20150924-1200Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
On Ubuntu Gnome 14.04.
As I said, it was running perfect until I installed SVN plugin.
EDIT
I realised that I have installed two plugins of m2e:
Maven integration for Eclipse (Luna and newer)1.5
Maven integration for Eclipse (Luna)1.5.0
Both in marketplace, but I have no way to uninstall them, it says:
[plugin] cannot be fully uninstalled because other installed software requires it. The parts that are not required will be uninstalled.
EDIT 2
In the "Installation History" within the "Help>Installation details" menu, I saw that "Maven integration for Eclipse (Luna)1.5.0" was installed by (or with) SVN plugin, so I think the problem is there, nevertheless, I can't uninstall it as I said in my first "EDIT".
If anyone has a clue about what is happening, please, help me.
Thanks in advance!
We use Subclipse in Eclipse (Kepler and Mars) without problems (Did you install Subclipse or Subversive?).
To check out projects as Maven projects, you should install a m2e connector. Subversive has one in the "Discovery" catalog while for Subclipse there is a separate update site.
If your eclipse plugin configuration is somehow broken, I would start again with a virgin eclipse (Mars.1, Mars.2 or Neon) which already contains m2e in version 1.6 or 1.7. Then you can install Subclipse or Subversive and try again.
Workaround proposal: simply don't deal with SVN within eclipse!
Instead, you can use "git svn" on ubuntu.
Meaning: with git svn you can create a local git repository, that allows you to commit/fetch to a remote SVN server. But to your eclipse ... that repository looks a common of garden GIT repository.
In other words: using that tool, you can still connect to SVN (although I don't understand why anybody would want to do that in 2016); but you have all the features of git available to you as well (including full support within eclipse; without installing any additional plugins).
I need the e(fx)clipse Window Builder to develop my application. I am using Windows XP Java 8 is unsupported. I must use an older version of e(fx)clipse to that supports Java 7. I've looked everywhere on how to do this but all sources are leading me to installing the latest version via the (Install New Software) feature in Eclipse. This doesn't work for me as I cannot find the correct p2 link for older versions of the software. Please help.
Here is the steps for offline install plugins.
Open WindowBuilder Pro download page, click the link under Zipped Update Site. If you are using Eclipse 3.8, you can download WB v1.7 for offline install.
If you don't want to install extra plugins, select menu item Windows > Preference. Then select tree item Install/Update > Available Software Sites, uncheck all items and press OK to close it.
Unpack the downloaded zip file to a folder (do NOT use the file expleror of Windows...)
Select menu item Help > Install New Software.... Click Add... button and Local... button to select the folder in previous steps.
Eclipse will list avaiable features for install. You can select the features and click Next button. You may get errors such as:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: SWT Designer XWT Support (requires Eclipse WTP/WST) 1.7.0.r42x201405021548 (org.eclipse.wb.xwt.feature.feature.group 1.7.0.r42x201405021548)
Missing requirement: WindowBuilder Core for XML GUI's 1.7.0.r42x201405021458 (org.eclipse.wb.core.xml 1.7.0.r42x201405021458) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.wst.sse.core 0.0.0' but it could not be found
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: SWT Designer XWT Support 1.7.0.r42x201405021548 (org.eclipse.wb.xwt 1.7.0.r42x201405021548)
To: bundle org.eclipse.wb.core.xml 0.0.0
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: SWT Designer XWT Support (requires Eclipse WTP/WST) 1.7.0.r42x201405021548 (org.eclipse.wb.xwt.feature.feature.group 1.7.0.r42x201405021548)
To: org.eclipse.wb.xwt [1.7.0.r42x201405021548]
In this case, you can unselect features: WindowBuilder Core for XML and SWT Designer XWT Support. Since they depend on the plugins of Eclipse webtools... (Or install Eclipse webtools before install WB)
Once all errors gone, accept the license agreement and click Next to finish the installation. Then you can use WB after restarting Eclipse.
I'm trying to add CD,I as a project facet to a Dynamic web project. But when clicking on the project facets view there is no CDI option in the Project Facet list as you can see:
I tried following this suggestion in where they said to erase possible conflicting jres, and also the suggestions in here which recommends checking the installed jre's, my view of installed jres is:
I'm at linux mint so I'm also attaching a screenshot of the dir /usr/lib/jvm, in case you guys see any anomaly in it and also it seems my java version is okay:
Did you installed JBoss Tools?
Go to Help -> Eclipse Marketplace find JBoss Tools for your version of Eclipse (To check version of eclipse go to Help -> About Eclipse)
Then select plugin you need
UPD
And also check Runtime Environments (window -> preferences)
Eclipse should be restarted after installation
I have a strange problem with Netbeans 7/8 on Windows 7, no matter how often i reinstall Netbeans I can't choose between Maven installations / home neighter do I see any Maven Home Option in the Dropdown (Tools -> Options -> Java -> Maven)

That would be a bug that you should report at https://netbeans.org/bugzilla (component project, subcomponent maven). Along with details of your setup.
I have installed eclipse Helios and want to create a plugin project. I select File --> New --> Project but there I do-not see the option for Plugin development. There are only 4 options--
General, CVS , Java and Examples.
Here are the eclipse details--
Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
Version: Helios Service Release 2
Build id: 20110218-0911
Do I need to configure anything in the eclipse settings or preferences for this?
You have to install the Eclipse for RCP and RAP Developers package of eclipse, not the one for Java Developers.
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-rcp-and-rap-developers/indigosr1
Edit: As an alternative you can install the plugins for plugin development into your existing installation. But this might require some fiddling.
The reason there might be no "Plugin Project" option in your Eclipse IDE could be due to the fact that the IDE you have installed does not include the necessary components for plugin development.
to get the plugin project flow the below steps.
Open Eclipse and go to the Help menu, then select "Eclipse Marketplace".
In the Marketplace window, search for "PDE" and select the "Eclipse PDE" option from the list.
Click on the "Install" button next to the Eclipse PDE option, and follow the prompts to complete the installation process
