i am configuring my project for a small rest app.
I am using Spring 4.2.2.RELEASE
I have a problem when i create a controller annotated with #RestController or I add #ResponseBody. The css or js resources just stop working and send the error 406 Not aceptable. I read that it is dued to the message converter, but i still have the problem.
Thanks in advance
My config.

If I comment the function listAll from EmpresaApiController, it works just fine. But if I add it, the css and js does not work.
Force the resource handler to take higher precedence than RequestMapping
#Override

registry.addResourceHandler("/resources/**").addResourceLocations("/resources/");

now, this how I configure project:
#Configuration("appConfig")
#ComponentScan(value = "com.nws.vedica", lazyInit = true)
#PropertySource({"classpath:swagger.properties", "classpath:vedica.properties"})
#ApplicationPath("/api")
#EnableJpaAuditing(auditorAwareRef="auditorProvider")
public class VedicaConfig extends ResourceConfig {
public VedicaConfig() {
packages("com.nws.vedica");
property(ServletProperties.FILTER_FORWARD_ON_404, true);
register(MultiPartFeature.class);
register(JacksonFeature.class);
// register(MOXyJsonProvider.class);
register(ValidationFeature.class);
register(ValidationConfigurationContextResolver.class);
register(PropertySourcesPlaceholderConfigurer.class);
register(ApiListingResource.class);
register(SwaggerSerializers.class);
}
#Bean
AuditorAware<String> auditorProvider() {
return new AuditorAware<String>() {
#Override
public String getCurrentAuditor() {
return "qwer";
}
};
}
#Bean
public PersistenceExceptionTranslationPostProcessor exceptionTranslation() {
return new PersistenceExceptionTranslationPostProcessor();
}
}
Now, my big, annoying, problem is that when I return an entity that has lazy-fetching entities in it I get WARNING: com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.JsonMappingException: (was java.lang.NullPointerException) (through reference chain: com.nws.vedica.model.entity.PartyKind["doc2"]->com.nws.vedica.model.entity.Document2["docType"]->com.nws.vedica.model.entity.DocType["validityRule"]->com.nws.vedica.model.entity.ValidityRule["validFrom"])
Exception.
Okey, I went through many articles and threads that told me I have to use
<dependency>
<groupId>com.fasterxml.jackson.datatype</groupId>
<artifactId>jackson-datatype-hibernate5</artifactId>
<version>2.8.4</version>
</dependency>
package to make jackson initialize my entities (which are all FetchType.EAGER, so I don't really know why is this happening).
So when I add jackson-datatype-hibernate5 dependency and register it in config as follows:
#Bean
public Module datatypeHibernateModule() {
return new Hibernate5Module();
}
But I am still getting the same exception. My opinion is that I need different datatype-hibernate5 hibernate package for jersey but cannot find which. or register it differently.
Can you advice how to make this work?
Thanks
It doesn't look like you're using Spring Boot. The Module as a Spring bean is something that will only work with Spring Boot. If you want to configure Jackson with Jersey you should use a ContextResolver where you can configure the ObjectMapper.
#Provider
public class ObjectMapperContextResolver implements ContextResolver<ObjectMapper> {
private final ObjectMapper mapper;
public ObjectMapperContextResolver() {
mapper = new ObjectMapper();
mapper.registerModule(new Hibernate5Module());
}
#Override
public ObjectMapper getContext(Class<?> type) {
return mapper;
}
}
Then register it with Jersey
register(ObjectMapperContextResolver.class);

It's a version conflict problem between different spring versions. Adding the spring-framework-bom dependency into your dependencyManagement section will do the trick for you:
<dependencyManagement>
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-framework-bom</artifactId>
<version>${springframework.version}</version>
<scope>import</scope>
<type>pom</type>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
</dependencyManagement>
Basically, spring-data-mongodb:1.8.4.RELEASE is dependent on spring framework 4.1.9.RELEASE and you're using 4.2.4.RELEASE version of the framework. With your current pom.xml, you will have the worst of the both world. Adding the spring-framework-bom makes sure that you will use correct version of spring framework.
A word of advice, if you do not need a library, do not add its dependency to your project. It's very unlikely that you're seriously need the CGLIB.
I'm working in a Spring MVC 4.1 application with Velocity teampltes. I'm trying to get resource handling setup. This tutorial documents exactly what i want:
http://www.mscharhag.com/spring/resource-versioning-with-spring-mvc
However, the ResourceUrlAdvice throws an error that ResourceUrlProvider is not defined. I thought ResourceUrlProvider was supposed to be automatically defined by #EnableWebMvc (I'm not using Spring Boot).
I even tried explicitly declaring an #Bean in my MvcConfig class and it still threw an error. I feel like I'm missing something obvious.
Controller advice class:
#ControllerAdvice
public class ResourceUrlAdvice {
#Autowired private ResourceUrlProvider resourceUrlProvider;
#ModelAttribute("urls")
public ResourceUrlProvider urls() {
return this.resourceUrlProvider;
}
}
Error:

when I try to inject the EntityManager, it is always null without throwing an exception.
It doesn't matter where the persistence.xml is placed, if it is empty or missing; this file seems completly to be ignored.
My persistence.xml is placed in src/main/resources/META-INF/.
I try to get it run in a Jetty now for 2 days, but there is no way. I would really appreciate your help.
My producer:
