I have XML application context where I define three beans:

As yo see I've tried to inject invocations of two particular methods before and after method whose id is "embark". And exactly this part of code (aop) causes BeanCreationException:

The error you are getting is:

This means that your application is missing a required library. In your case, you are doing AOP with Spring (<aop:config>) so you need to add Spring AOP to your Maven POM:

add reference for cglib as following for gradle:
compile group: 'cglib', name: 'cglib', version: '3.2.5'
then run gradle build in command line, then run the program, everything will be ok!

I had the same problem as you. Solution: You need the AspectJ library.

How to set up tomcat for a spring application?

I get this error when I deploy my spring application...I when running in XAMPP tomcat works , but it seems like it is not properly configured to the application. I also moved my Java Home directory in D:// but I also updated the path in the system variable. I did something wrong with that maybe ?

When I was just using the JpaRepository I had no problem.
I got that issue only when I added another repository that extends ElasticsearchRepository.
the interface definition of JPA and Elastic search were defined in different packages.
I'm using elastic search 2.2.1 with Spring data elasticsearch 1.3.4
I think it's a configuration issue.

ElasticsearchRepository has a method named index, there is no harm in that, but since you did put your ElasticSearch Repositories in com.owish.repositories.search package, it would be scanned by Spring Data JPA Scanner:

So, Spring Data JPA would try to proxy your UserSearchRepo and couldn't find any property named index in the User class, hence the error:
No property index found for type User!
Anyway, if you move your ElasticSearch Repositories away from com.owish.repositories package and its sub-packages, you would be fine. For example, you can move your ElasticSearch Repositories to com.owish.search and also:

And a word of advice, try to define one configuration for each architectural aspect of your application, e.g. one for data, one for web, one for security, and put only related configurations in each of them. I did not get the role of this component scanner in your Data Access Related configuration:

the problem is because the applicationContext.xml is not loaded that's why the auto-configuration kicks in and try to initialize an embeded database . so to import your configuration file use in the class where you have #configuration
#ImportResource("classpath:path/to/applicationContext.xml")

Spring Application Context Loading Manually With Autowire

I am working on a simple Spring Maven java console application and hence I am loading my application context manually. The Autowire annotations are not working for me

Is my ApplicationContext not available to the GreeterService class , if so why is that ?

The error msg itself saying everything about the issue. You are trying to autowire Sample in GreeterServiceImpl class while you declare SampleImpl as another component. To correct do either one of following:-
Change Sample to SampleImpl
OR
Change public class SampleImpl to public class SampleImpl implements Sample and create a interface called Sample
OR
Change public class SampleImpl to public class Sample

Your Sample Class should be
package com.springconsole;

My spring project works fine when I am using spring 3.2.9 but if I changed it to 4.1.4 I get following exception when i m starting the application.

This answer seems also to apply to your problem description/exception message: You have a conflicting javax.validation version!
Hint: I prefer Netbeans' "Graph View" (of a pom editor) for identification & elimination of dependency conflicts (especially after some version upgrade). The "pure-maven-way" would be:
mvn dependency:tree -Dverbose -Dincludes=javax.validation

for my case, it was due to the spring mvc version from spring boot starter web not compatible with spring data.
and the exception could be really tricky, where there are two constructors for AbstractMethodError, while the first one is default without any parameter. So depends on the implementation, if they throw exception using first constructor, would require a lot hard work for debugging.
