Error using Restful with JBOSS runtime - java

I have created a maven webapp and i'm trying to use the restful services and a JBoss 7.0 runtime.
I've changed the web.xml to call the restful services using javax.ws.rs from which i have also added the jar to the buildpath. The server starts perfectly, so there is no errors or failures in related to the web.xml file and i can successfully call the first page.
I've wrote a class called RestService wich is supposed to do something when i call another url (to be precise localhost:8080/myPrj/rest/hello/first), but when i call the url it shows an error on my eclipse console and on the webbrowser.
What am i doing wrong ?
Please help a newbie
this is my web.xml

Since the implementation of JAX-RS is RestEasy you need to use a web.xml like:
<web-app id="WebApp_ID" version="2.4"

xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

Seems to me that the cause is a missing library in your classpath. Specifically, you have some classes annotated with #javax.persistence.PersistenceUnit, but this class is missing from the classpath. So I suggest you list all the libraries deployed in the test webserver (including the /lib libraries) and compare them with the ones deployed in your local server, paying special attention to some of these:
persistence.jar
javaee-api-*.jar
annotations-api-*.jar
.. which are the standard libraries in which javax.persistence.PersistenceUnit class might be present.

no servlet or servlet mapping shown in Deployement Descriptor when creating a Jersey Rest Service

I am trying to create a REST Web Service that uses Jersey. I have created any .java files I need but when I run it on the server, it can never find it. My current web.xml file is as follows :-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<web-app xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:web="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd" id="WebApp_ID" version="2.5">
<display-name>com.epware.jersey.books</display-name>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>Jersey REST Service</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>com.sun.jersey.spi.container.servlet.ServletContainer</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>com.sun.jersey.config.property.packages</param-name>
<param-value>com.epware.jersey.books.resources</param-value>
</init-param>
<load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>Jersey REST Service</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/rest/*</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
</web-app>
What is important to note is that there is nothing within the server or server mapping fields in the 'Deployment Descriptor'. Could this by why it doesn't run?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT
The problem was due to a misplacement of the web.xml file. All cleared up. Despite this, I am now receiving the following error:

I seem to getting a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException thrown when deploying my portlet war to the Liferay server, this also happens running the server inside eclipse (Indigo). I made sure my jersey service worked on Tomcat 7.1 before converting it to Liferay portlet. Thanks.

Problem was that I was deploying a Liferay portlet built using the Liferay plugin that I had converted to a Maven project and the plugin deployment wasn't picking up the Maven dependencies.

Integrating Spring with JSF2

I work on a project with jsf2 spring and hibernate.
When I want to integrate jsf2 with spring, I have this error when starting my JSF in tomcat7. I have the jars myfaces-impl & api. I searched the Internet, but found no solution until now.

You need to add jsf2 libraries. If you have added it then it is not in your classpath.
There is no point to use old facelets jars in JSF 2, because the implementation bundles facelets VDL. Instead, it seems some JSF 1.2 libraries are used in a JSF 2 app, which is not right. Just update your libraries if you are using JSF 2.
