Add DATA from JTable to another one - java

I have a JTable that displays a list of questions.
What I want to do is when I click on a question among the list view it will be added in the other JTable ( and the question still in the first JTable).
I must of course add a click event on the JTable but after I know what to do.
The result of the execution of the program
List<Question> questions=new ArrayList<>();
List<Question> questions2=new ArrayList<>();
table_1 = new JTable();
scrollPane_1.setViewportView(table_1);
table = new JTable();
scrollPane.setViewportView(table);
setLayout(groupLayout);
initDataBindings();
}
protected void initDataBindings() {
JTableBinding<Question, List<Question>, JTable> jTableBinding = SwingBindings.createJTableBinding(UpdateStrategy.READ, questions, table);
//
BeanProperty<Question, String> questionBeanProperty = BeanProperty.create("contenu");
jTableBinding.addColumnBinding(questionBeanProperty).setColumnName("Contenu");
//
BeanProperty<Question, Collection<Reponse>> questionBeanProperty_1 = BeanProperty.create("reponses");
jTableBinding.addColumnBinding(questionBeanProperty_1).setColumnName("Les reponses");
//
BeanProperty<Question, String> questionBeanProperty_2 = BeanProperty.create("niveauDeDifficulte");
jTableBinding.addColumnBinding(questionBeanProperty_2).setColumnName("Niveau de difficult\u00E9");
//
jTableBinding.bind();
}

Hello,
#Override
public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e) {
questions2.add(questions.get(table.getSelectedRow()));
}
});

JCombobox - change value in JTable

first post here.
How to write method which can change values in JTable when app is on running? getValIn() returns me values in english (i used ResourceBundle for that and its work), but if i change the combobox I want have this value in french in JTable.
It's a piece of code.
public void show(){
String[] lang = {"en", "fr"};
List<String> columns = new ArrayList<String>();
Object[][] obj;
JComboBox combobox = new JComboBox(lang);
combobox.setSelectedIndex(0);
combobox.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){
#Override
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
if(combobox.getSelectedItem().toString().equals("en")){
selectedLang ="en";
}else{
selectedLang = "fr";
}
}
});
obj = getValIn(selectedLang);
TableModel tb= new DefaultTableModel(obj, columns.toArray());
JTable table = new JTable(tb);
It's not necessary to be in JCombobox.
Thanks, have a nice day!

Return the value from JOptionPane

I have made a JOptionPane which contains a JPanel. The panel contains one button and one Jtable.
JPanel p = atomicAttack.getPanel(); //make the panel and return it
JOptionPane.showOptionDialog(null, p,"Atomic Attacks",
JOptionPane.DEFAULT_OPTION,JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE,
null, new Object[]{}, null);
and inside the JButton i have:
private void jButton3ActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
selectedId=jTable1.getValueAt(jTable1.getSelectedRow(), 0).toString();
}
I need to when the user clicks on the button, the JOption get closed and the selectedId get return from the JOptionPane?
I have seen this, but it is not exactly what i am looking for.
Because the button does not return the value for me.
Focus on the models and things will be easier.
public static void main(String[] args) {
DefaultTableModel tableModel = new DefaultTableModel();
tableModel.addColumn("Selection", new Object[] { "A", "B", "C" });
JTable table = new JTable(tableModel);
ListSelectionModel selectionModel = table.getSelectionModel();
JPanel p = new JPanel(new BorderLayout());
p.add(table, BorderLayout.CENTER);
int option = JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog(null, p, "Atomic Attacks", JOptionPane.OK_CANCEL_OPTION,
JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
if (JOptionPane.OK_OPTION == option) {
printSelection(selectionModel, tableModel);
} else {
selectionModel.clearSelection();
}
}
private static void printSelection(ListSelectionModel selectionModel, TableModel tableModel) {
for (int i = selectionModel.getMinSelectionIndex(); i <= selectionModel.getMaxSelectionIndex(); i++) {
if (selectionModel.isSelectedIndex(i)) {
Object selectedValue = tableModel.getValueAt(i, 0);
System.out.println(selectedValue);
}
}
}
If you now select multiple rows
and press the ok button the result will be
A
C
If you want a single selection you can just set
ListSelectionModel selectionModel = table.getSelectionModel();
selectionModel.setSelectionMode(ListSelectionModel.SINGLE_SELECTION);

How to refresh JTable after inserting data to database?

I'm populating JTable from access database. when running the code for the first time, table loads perfectly. Then adding new records to database from JDialog. What I was trying to do is to call loadData() method when JDialog is closed, but table is not updating.
This is my loadData() method:
private void loadData() {
System.out.println("sssss");
final String [] columnNames={"Seq", "First Name", "Last Name","Num1","Num2","Num3"};
connectDb();
data = new Object[rows][columns];
int row = 0;
try {
while(rs.next()){
for(int col = 0 ; col<columns; col++ ){
if(col==0)
data[row][col]=rs.getString("contact_seq");
if(col==1)
data[row][col]=rs.getString("contact_fname");
if(col==2)
data[row][col]=rs.getString("contact_lname");
if(col==3)
data[row][col]=rs.getString("contact_num1");
if(col==4)
data[row][col]=rs.getString("contact_num2");
if(col==5)
data[row][col]=rs.getString("contact_num3");
}
row++;
}
} catch (SQLException e) {
// TODO Auto-generated catch block
e.printStackTrace();
}
model = new DefaultTableModel(data, columnNames){
/**
*
*/
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
public boolean isCellEditable(int row, int column)
{
return false;
}
};
table = new JTable(model);
}`
this how I call loadData method when closing the JDialog.
JMenuItem mntmNew = new JMenuItem("New Contact");
mntmNew.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
addData gui = new addData(viewData.this,rs);
gui.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.HIDE_ON_CLOSE);
gui.setVisible(true);
gui.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {
public void windowClosed(WindowEvent e){
loadData();
}
});
}
});
mnFile.add(mntmNew);
My database is updated when adding the records but Jtable is not refreshed.
Here:
private void loadData() {
...
table = new JTable(model); // don't re-create the table here
}
Don't re-create the table but update its model instead, either by setting a new table model or by clearing and re-filling the current one:
private void loadData() {
...
table.setModel(model);
// Of course, table should have been initialized
// and placed first, and only once!
}
See examples here (includes SwingWorker to make database calls in a background thread), here and here. Please have a look to those answers, there are explanations to make the point clear.
This worked for me:
if (model.getRowCount() > 0) {
for (int i = model.getRowCount() - 1; i > -1; i--) {
model.removeRow(i);
}
}
setTablevalue();
I removed all the rows from the JTable and again called the setTableValue method to re-populate the table.
This is a shot in the dark, but maybe this will work?:
public void windowClosed(WindowEvent e) {
loadData();
// Add this line:
table.repaint();
}
If I understand what is going on, the underlying database is getting updated but the JTable component is not showing the updates. My guess is that you just have to call the repaint() method so that the JTable gets updated as well.

Java - delete selected row from tablemodel

I need delete deleted row from my arraylist...
private GuiIO guiIO;
private DefaultTableModel tableModel;
private List<Book> zoz;
public MyGui() {
initComponents();
this.setLocationRelativeTo(this.getRootPane());
this.guiIO = new GuiIO();
tableModel = new DefaultTableModel(new String[]{"Znacka", "Model", "Najazdene", "Rok vyroby", "Vykon", "Cena"}, 0);
this.tblTabulka.setModel(tableModel);
this.tblTabulka.setSelectionMode(javax.swing.ListSelectionModel.SINGLE_SELECTION);
tblTabulka.setAutoCreateRowSorter(true);
TableRowSorter rowSorter = new TableRowSorter(tableModel);
zoz = guiIO.getAllBook();
}
my function for delete row from model:
private void btnClearActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
final int sectedRowIndex = this.tblTabulka.getSelectedRow();
this.tableModel.removeRow(sectedRowIndex);
zoz = guiIO.getAllBook();
}
public List getAllBook() {
List all_book = new ArrayList<Book>();
for (Containerable item = this.book.getFirst();
item!=null;
item = this.book.getNext())
all_book.add(item);
return all_book;
}
but i need delete it from my private List zoz;
how can i do it?
I need delete it from my private List zoz?
zoz.remove(sectedRowIndex); // if table is not sortable
Note:
Do not initialize the list again after deleting the selected row.
DefaultTableModel is not populating from the list
put a check tblTabulka.getSelectedRow() != -1 before deleting the row whether row is selected or not?
Use Map instead of List something like
Map<String,Book> books = new HashMap<String,Book>();
where you can make isbn or id as key.
Sample code:
button.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
#Override
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent arg0) {
// check for selected row first
if (tblTabulka.getSelectedRow() != -1) {
// get value of first cell of selected row
String isbn= (String)tableModel.getValueAt(tblTabulka.getSelectedRow(), 0);
books.remove(isbn);
// remove from the model also
model.removeRow(tblTabulka.getSelectedRow());
}
}
});

have problems in Linking multiple JComboBox in JTable one time

I got a quite tricky problem when I do some code on JTable
I need to add one line In JTable when I click "Add" button, and I want one of the columns to render
as a JComboBox
the problem is that when I only add one line, it works fine.
but when I add multiple lines a time, no matter which combobox I choose item from, It will always trigger the last comboBox's event(seems always the same combobox since I have printed the hashcode of jComboBox in MyComboxActionListener class. it's the same).
why is that happens , I can't figure it out. Since It's totally a new comboBox and a new listener when I add one line.
Following is the code.
Thanks in advance.
private void addButtonActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
ProducedProcedure_new addedProducedProcedure = new ProducedProcedure_new(); // the new item
componentProcedureTableModel.getWorks().add(addedProducedProcedure); //add one line to the table
componentProcedureTableModel.fireTableRowsInserted(componentProcedureTableModel.getRowCount()-1, componentProcedureTableModel.getRowCount()-1);
jTable1.changeSelection(componentProcedureTableModel.getRowCount()-1,0, false, false);
List<String> procedureNames = produceCardManager.getProcedureNames(componentIdTextField.getText().trim(),false); //get the items added to combobox
renderColumnAsCombox(1,procedureNames,addedProducedProcedure); //-------------------------------------------
}
void renderColumnAsCombox(int columnIndex , List<String> items,ProducedProcedure_new producedProcedure) {
TableColumn col = jTable1.getColumnModel().getColumn(columnIndex);
JComboBox comboBox = new JComboBox();
for(String item : items) {
comboBox.addItem(item);
}
MyComboxActionListener myComboxActionListener = new MyComboxActionListener(columnIndex,comboBox,producedProcedure);
comboBox.addActionListener(myComboxActionListener);
col.setCellEditor(new DefaultCellEditor(comboBox));
}
class MyComboxActionListener implements ActionListener { // listen for the select event of the combobox
private JComboBox jComboBox;
private ProducedProcedure_new producedProcedure;
private int columnIndex;
public MyComboxActionListener(int columnIndex,JComboBox jComboBox,ProducedProcedure_new producedProcedure) {
this.columnIndex = columnIndex;
this.jComboBox = jComboBox;
this.producedProcedure = producedProcedure;
}
#Override
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
String selectedItem = (String)jComboBox.getSelectedItem();
producedProcedure.getProcedure().setProcedureName(selectedItem);
producedProcedure.getProcedure().setProcedureId(String.valueOf(produceCardManager.getProcedureId(selectedItem)));
producedProcedure.getProcedure().setFactor(produceCardManager.getProcedureFactor(selectedItem)); //automately update the factor
((ComponentProcedureTableModel_new)jTable1.getModel()).fireTableDataChanged();
}
}
