I am learning to integrate hibernate with spring to connect to Oracle 11g using the below code. But stuck with the same error from few days. Please help me resolve this. i have tried the different solutions mentioned in other answers given for questions with the same error, but no luck.
Any relevant solutions welcome.
Thanks,
Nisha

As It is mentioned in the Stacktrace it is unable to get the connection.
invalid arguments in call
Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Unable to acquire JDBC Connection
In datasource driver name should be like below
<value>oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver</value>
In procedure if we give incorrect type mapping from java type to oracle data type then we will get
org.springframework.jdbc.UncategorizedSQLException: CallableStatementCallback; uncategorized SQLException for proc SQL state [99999]; error code [17068]; Invalid argument(s) in call; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: Invalid argument(s) in call
To fix this we need to map respective data type.
Instead
PersonDao personDao = context.getBean(PersonDao.class);
Try with
PersonDao personDao = (PersonDao) context.getBean("personDao");
So your Bean Id in spring.xml
Solved this, at last, by adding just the jars in lib/required folder of Hibernate zip file. Till then i had added all the jars in the lib folder.

I have a Java project in eclipse where i have used mysql earlier i implemented spring and i am now about to switch database to postgresql and i also want to implement springboot with gradle and switch my xml based config to java based config. in xml i have the following dataconfig.xml and when i swapped the earlier jdbc for mysql to jdbc for postgresql i got the app running on server.

now to my problem i have the following files in my new springboot gradle project...
This is my application.properties file.

spring.datasource.username=up2u_user2
spring.datasource.password=password
# Hibernate Specific properties
spring.jpa.properties.hibernate.format_sql=false
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=create-drop
This is my dependencies.

I have understood that much that i should define beans to replace the default once but i don't really know how to do it? i have searched but haven't really understod what beans to create, what properties to change or what dependencies that is missing or unnecessary.
UPPDATE:
The class and package that is mentioned in the stack trace is not in my project. i use package structure se.up2u.flowkeeper
I just realised that the jdbc i use is what postgresql is referingto as jdbc41 that is intended for java 1.7 there is no jdbc42 that is for 1.8. also i get another error about unsatisfied dependency if i remove the postgresql dependency.
For me the problem has been resolved by removing redundant mysql-connector-java.jar from java classpath (/lib/ext for me).
I have an application that uses the Spring Repository framework and a MySQL database. I currently have it deployed on Tomcat 7.
Once I deploy and attempt to log into the application (the first call to the database) I receive the following exception:
SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'entityManagerFactory' defined in URL [file:/opt/apache-tomcat-7.0.62/webapps/waypoint/WEB-INF/classes/repository-context.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.hibernate.HibernateException: Access to DialectResolutionInfo cannot be null when 'hibernate.dialect' not set
I have enabled query logging on the database and can confirm that a query is being made to the database for a user object. However, on the login page itself, I see the following message:
Your login attempt was not successful, try again.
Reason: could not extract ResultSet; SQL [n/a]; nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.SQLGrammarException: could not extract ResultSet
To make things a bit more confusing, this only happens when I try deploying on a remote server. When I start a local instance of MySQL and run an instance of Tomcat on localhost, everything works as expected.
Below is my repository-context.xml:
<beans:bean id="dataSource" class="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource">
<beans:property name="driverClassName" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" />
<beans:property name="url"
value="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/waypoint_dev" />
<beans:property name="username" value="root" />
</beans:bean>
<beans:bean id="entityManagerFactory"
class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean">
<beans:property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource" />
<beans:property name="jpaVendorAdapter">
<beans:bean
class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.vendor.HibernateJpaVendorAdapter" />
</beans:property>
<!-- spring based scanning for entity classes> -->
<beans:property name="packagesToScan"
value="com.cigna.waypoint.repository, com.cigna.waypoint.core" />
</beans:bean>
<beans:bean id="transactionManager"
class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.JpaTransactionManager">
<beans:property name="entityManagerFactory" ref="entityManagerFactory" />
</beans:bean>
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the problem? Is there a configuration that is needed with Tomcat that I am not aware of, or have forgotten?
Thanks for your help.

Hibernate needs to know the dialect so that it can connect to the underlying database. You need to set the dialect as org.hibernate.dialect.MySQL5Dialect for MySQL along with the Datasource definition.
Here is a link which says why you need dialect.
I was able to resolve this issue by working through the steps listed in #Soheil 's answer found here:
Solving a "communications link failure" with JDBC and MySQL
It turns out that all I needed was add the hibernate dialect, as #Dhanush Gopinath suggested, and add the following to my my.cnf file:
interactive_timeout=180
wait_timeout=180
connect_timeout=180
max_connect_errors=9999

Have a jar module with entities and daos (openjpa) and a web module which wires those up to controllers with spring. Tests in the jar module run fine but when trying to use daos in the web module, getting this error:
[2014-11-20 15:12:00,692] - openjpa.Runtime An error occurred while registering a ClassTransformer with PersistenceUnitInfo: name 'analytics-persistence-unit', root URL [file:/C:/work/tools/tomcat/webapps/events/WEB-INF/lib/analytics-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar]. <persistence-unit name="analytics-persistence-unit" transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL">

On build openjpa-maven-plugin does enhancements.
Web module loads entity manager based on jar module's persistence unit:
<bean id="analytics-em-factory" class="org.springframework.orm.jpa.LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean">
<property name="persistenceUnitName" value="analytics-persistence-unit" />
<property name="packagesToScan" value="com.qbe.asia.analytics.model" />

The problem is, I don't really understand the error. Google returns posts related to eclipse Link from 2007 which doesn't help much.
Any explanation of what my problem really is?
The problem is that OpenJPA tries to register a ClassTransformer with Spring and for whatever reason that isn't valid for this case. You don't mention what version of OpenJPA you're using, but I somewhat recall seeing a change that went in where OpenJPA will swallow this exception as it is benign if using build time enhancement.
I am using Spring 3.0.5 and Quartz 1.8.3 and I am getting exceptions in SchedulerFactoryBean
Can someone help me with this? with Quartz 1.8.6 also its not working

Good day.
I try to integrate spring and hibernate and tapestry, but have problems with some beans in application-context.xml
Here my pom.xml part with hibernate and spring.
I use IDE: Idea 12, with supporting of spring, tapestry and hibernate framework, so some jar file in lib directory.

as I understood after searching in hibernate 4 there is no such class, but what I need to do, to solve it?

Based on that exception, you have conflicting jars. You haven't posted the full pom, but I see you mixed a spring 2.0 (spring-jdbc) with spring 3.1.1 jars. You need to see the entire dependency tree and figure out where the conflicting hibernate jar is coming from. Use the the following maven command to see the dependency tree: mvn dependency:tree
