What exactly are you trying to do? It looks like you downloaded the Hadoop Accelerator [1] build, but not actually using it. If that's the case, you should download the fabric build instead.

Java agent OTel not working with New Relic

I have a Java application running with an OTel agent to collect telemetries and send them to the New Relic platform.
Configuration of OTel Java agent:
-javaagent:./agents/opentelemetry-javaagent-all.jar
-Dotel.traces.exporter=otlp
-Dotel.resource.attributes=service.name=my-application
-Dotel.exporter.otlp.endpoint=https://otlp.nr-data.net:4317
-Dotel.exporter.otlp.headers=api-key=${NEW_RELIC_LICENSE_KEY}
When this app is starting an error occurs:
Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: cannot find a NameResolver for https://otlp.nr-data.net:4317
How to resolve this problem?
I would try:
-Dotel.exporter.otlp.endpoint=otlp.nr-data.net:4317
OTLP endpoint should be officially URL (so scheme part should be included), but some implementations need it without scheme part. I guess this is your case.
The problem has been solved for me when adjusting Dockerfile forcing the download of OTel java agent on the image build process.
From:
COPY ./agents/opentelemetry-javaagent-all.jar .
To:
ADD https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-java-instrumentation/releases/download/v1.12.1/opentelemetry-javaagent.jar .

Logstash unable to start pipeline

I am working with Logstash v7.15.1 and when I am trying to run it, I am getting below error which I am unable to figure out. Will someone help me to fix this?
Note - I have removed several plugins comes bundled with Logstash as all were not part of my requirement.

Apologies for posting incomplete information. After hours of troubleshooting, I was able to fix the issue. It was related to using different version of ruby and java. FYI, I am running Logstash in container and then deploying it on K8s cluster. I have removed plugins from Logstash source code itself and then build it.

How do I resolve "Graphics Device initialization failed for : es2, sw" when running on WSL?

I am trying to setup okta-aws-cli-assume-role, but I have a Windows machine (please don't shoot me!). I think my problem is there is some graphical components, and when I run with a Ubuntu WSL, it can't find the appropriate device.
The full error is:
Graphics Device initialization failed for : es2, sw
Error initializing QuantumRenderer: no suitable pipeline found
java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Error initializing QuantumRenderer: no suitable pipeline found
What should I do?
While some may suggest you a workaround for this problem, I suggest you to take a look at aws-sts docker solution: it uses headless browser under the hood, so there won't be any problems related to the graphics and it is more or less platform independent.
I was exactly in the same situation using WSL, so what I did:
created config.json as described in the Readme
ReadMe suggests to create a Dockerfile, but actually I never had to use it just passing the config parameters to the basic docker image like in the template file
As the result, aws token is generated inside the docker container and put into mounted $HOME/.aws folder, so you can easily call awscli from WLS.
Here is how to make docker working properly with WLS (in short, client in WLS, server installed on Windows with exposed daemon).
One more hint: use --profile=default when generating token, so you don't have to specify it every time you use awscli.

heroku nodejs app - events.js:167 Error Unhandled 'error' event : spawn java ENOENT

I'm having a node-js app on Heroku using the pdfMerge.js library.
following the documentation I'm using the stream event mechanism as a callback to identify the end of the process
then an exception is thrown :
events.js:167 Error: spawn java ENOENT.
I'm almost sure it's happening because I'm messing required java installation as described here:
pdfmerger combines multiple PDF-files into a single PDF-file. It is a node module that utilizes the Apache PDFBox Library, which the required functionality are distributed along with this module. The only requirement for this module to run, is having Java 6 or higher in the path.
I'm Not familiar enough with Heroku installation/configuration process in order to make it work.

You can add Java to your app by adding the heroku/jvm buildpack like this:
$ heroku buildpacks:add -i 1 heroku/jvm
Then redeploy with git commit --allow-empty and git push heroku master.

Unable to start Neo4j on Windows, no error messages

I'm using the following on Windows 7:
neo4j-community-1.9.2
Java 7 Update 25
I have Windows Firewall disabled.
When I start Neo4j.bat, both as Administrator and normally, I get the following message:

A blank Java console window pops up, no messages, then the window disappears after a minute or so.
When I go to http://localhost:7474/, I just get a server not found error.
If I try to install it as a service, the service wouldn't start.
Any ideas what I need to do to start Neo4j? I see here that Neo4j 1.9 does support Java 7:

base.bat correctly points to windows-service-wrapper-5.jar, so not the windows-service-wrapper-*.jar problem that some people have had in the past. It would be helpful if it outputted an error message.
I just tried it with neo4j 2.0 milestone, and it didn't make any difference. The Java window pops up with no messages, http://localhost:7474/ gets a server not found error, then the Java window closes after a minute or two.
I added JAVA_HOME and JRE_HOME system variables, made no difference. I think I would get an error if Neo4j was not able to locate Java anyway.
I've fixed it.
With help from Neo4j's Google Group, I looked at the logs in data/logs/*.log and data/graph.db/messages.log, and found the following exception:
Caused by: java.rmi.server.ExportException: Port already in use: 1337; nested exception is:
java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind
Once I disabled my other service that uses that port, Neo4j's web admin at http://localhost:7474 worked. I then found out port 1337 is used by Neo4j's remote shell, I disabled it by adding enable_remote_shell = false to neo4j.properties, then I was able to have both Neo4j and my other service running.
I'm using the version 2.2.1 community edition of Neo4j on Windows 7, Java 1.8 update 45
In my case the log file messages.log was under default.graphdb directory. In there, you'll see the root cause of the problem.
