How to configure sessionFactory and EntityManager in SpringBoot Application - java

I have configured datasource in application.yml and added spring-boot-starter-data-jpa in my pom.xml. I am getting the following error while starting the server.

You should add mysql dependency in pom.xml, because you are given data source driver as mysql
<dependency>
<groupId>mysql</groupId>
<artifactId>mysql-connector-java</artifactId>
</dependency>
Here example Spring boot with mysql. And spring boot one of feature is AutoConfiguration.

Check if you have #SpringBootApplication or #EnableAutoConfiguration (added by #SpringBootApplication).
This will enable auto-configuration which will instantiate automatically the necessary beans for you based on the contents of your classpath.
Therefore check also the classpath to see that you added all the necessary dependencies.
SpringBoot helps you in adding these dependencies by providing starters which contain multiple dependencies.
In your case this one - spring-boot-starter-data-jpa - which you already added
Available starters
If this still doesn't work then is something missing from the configuration (application.yml)
You can try setting one of the following keys:
spring.jpa.database= # Target database to operate on, auto-detected by default. Can be alternatively set using the "databasePlatform" property.
spring.jpa.database-platform= # Name of the target database to operate on, auto-detected by default. Can be alternatively set using the "Database" enum.
There is a reference with common settings here.
NOTE: at any time you can define your own beans which will override the ones added by auto-configuration.

Unable to query a database using spring jpa and apache camel

I want to access an oracle sql database using spring jpa since it's a remote server, and apache camel.
This is a code sample:
RouteBuilder
rest("/getfromdb")
.get()
.to("direct:getfromdb");
from("direct:getfromdb")
.transform().simple("SELECT PERSON_ID FROM XXISF_LEAVE_TEMP;")
.to("jdbc:dataSource") //spring boot starter jdbc creates the bean in the registry
.log("${body}");
application.properties file
server.port=9085
camel.servlet.mapping.context-path=/*
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:oracle:thin:#server:port/serviceName
spring.datasource.username=apps
spring.datasource.password=OneTeam2020
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=update
spring.jpa.show-sql=true
spring.jpa.properties.hibernate.format_sql=true
spring.jpa.properties.hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle12cDialect
pom, dependencies related to jdbc and jpa:
<dependency>
<groupId>com.oracle.ojdbc</groupId>
<artifactId>orai18n</artifactId>
<version>19.3.0.0</version>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.camel.springboot</groupId>

<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-jdbc</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.camel</groupId>
<artifactId>camel-jdbc</artifactId>
<version>${camel.version}</version>
</dependency>
Note that my oracle database is 19c, and I am getting the following errors:
1- java.sql.SQLException: Numeric Overflow
2- org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'entityManagerFactory' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/autoconfigure/orm/jpa/HibernateJpaConfiguration.class]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is javax.persistence.PersistenceException: [PersistenceUnit: default] Unable to build Hibernate SessionFactory;
3- nested exception is org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Unable to build DatabaseInformation
So any idea how to solve this issue? because I did not find anything that could help. Thank you

spring.datasource.url=jdbc:sqlserver://localhost;databaseName=springbootdb
spring.datasource.username=sa
spring.datasource.password=replace_value
spring.datasource.driverClassName=com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
spring.jpa.show-sql=true
spring.jpa.hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.SQLServer2012Dialect
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto = create-drop
Try that one and see if you can build/run the project.
Change your url parameter to:
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=test1
Port number must be preceded by a colon(":"), not slash("/").

Unable to establish connection with SQL Server 2014 - error creating bean

I have a micro-service which connects to the DB and returns an object of type string. When I try to run the application I see a bean creation error || error creating bean with name dataSource. I tried few options mentioned in stackoverflow but couldn't solve the issue, which made me to post this question. Here is the error, application properties & POM. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Note:
JAVA 6, Spring boot are used.
Thanks.

Looks as if your SQL Server driver is only loaded in your test scope:
<scope>test</scope>
If you're attempting to run the application itself, you'll need to include that on the runtime classpath. Just remove that scope declaration and it should work.
You don't have the SQL Server JDBC driver included in your application. The reason is that you have specified in the POM that the scope of this dependency is test. To fix this, remove <scope>test</scope> for the SQL Server JDBC driver and recompile and redeploy.
As an aside, the latest version of the SQL Server JDBC driver is
<dependency>
<groupId>com.microsoft.sqlserver</groupId>
<artifactId>mssql-jdbc</artifactId>
<version>6.2.2.jre8</version>
</dependency>

Manually connecting mySQL to eclipse/Spring Boot

I wanted to ask if I need to specify a path to my SQL file when using eclipse and spring Boot? I am given the same error Cannot determine embedded database driver class for database type NONE. All the settings are right, I believe, but the problem is that I never told eclipse where my databases are?
I do have a properties file that states this:
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=create-drop
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/db_example
spring.datasource.username=springuser
spring.datasource.password=ThePassword
spring.datasource.driverClassName=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
spring.jpa.properties.hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect
Is this a way for it to find the db_example, and should it somehow be online when I start my project? When i go to localhost:3306 it also shows an error. I haven't been able to solve this problem in 2 days, and am pretty new to programming so please bear with me!

EDIT 3
The error message after moving the folder is the following:
2017-07-28 11:40:20.348 WARN 10944 --- [ main] ationConfigEmbeddedWebApplicationContext : Exception encountered during context initialization - cancelling refresh attempt: org.springframework.beans.factory.UnsatisfiedDependencyException: Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.boot.autoconfigure.orm.jpa.HibernateJpaAutoConfiguration': Unsatisfied dependency expressed through constructor parameter 0; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'dataSource' defined in class path resource [org/springframework/boot/autoconfigure/jdbc/DataSourceConfiguration$Tomcat.class]: Bean instantiation via factory method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Failed to instantiate [org.apache.tomcat.jdbc.pool.DataSource]: Factory method 'dataSource' threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalStateException: Cannot load driver class: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
I dont see your application.properties in the resource folder. Your application.properties is in the test environment instead. i wont work like that.
Please change spring.datasource.driverClassName=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver to this spring.datasource.driver-class-name=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver.
Your final database config may like this:
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=create-drop
spring.jpa.database-platform = org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/db_example
spring.datasource.username=springuser
spring.datasource.password=ThePassword
spring.datasource.driver-class-name=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
Also please update your pom.xml file dependencies to this and run a maven update in eclipse:
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-data-jpa</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>mysql</groupId>
<artifactId>mysql-connector-java</artifactId>
</dependency>
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-boot-starter-test</artifactId>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
</dependencies>

I'm trying to make an api. I want to try to make it with Spring&Hibernate using Intellij Idea and i've never used any of them.
I have succeed to create the Spring project with intellij. But even if the project is 'empty', i haven't changed anything yet, i can't do a maven install it.

Maybe i need some kind of properties somewhere but i don't know which ones and where to put them...
I found what was the problem !
So it was that i didn't configure something as you said. I didn't needed to install the jdbc (i don't know why i don't need it) but just to put some properties on the file : /main/ressources/application.properties
spring.jpa.database=POSTGRESQL
spring.datasource.platform=postgres
spring.jpa.show-sql=true
spring.jpa.hibernate.ddl-auto=create-drop
spring.database.driverClassName=org.postgresql.Driver
spring.datasource.url=jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/mybase
spring.datasource.username=username
spring.datasource.password=mdp
Thx for the answers anyway :)
You are missing DB JAR on your classpath. If you are using
Maven/Gradle, just include JDBC driver dependency into your POM/gradle
file.
Taken from here:
Spring Boot: Unable to configure
As first try to add the dependency to your pom:
<!-- ORACLE database driver -->
<dependency>
<groupId>com.oracle</groupId>
<artifactId>ojdbc6</artifactId>
<version>11.2.0</version>
</dependency>
Then if it does not work add it manually with the "mvn install:install-file" goal..
