Dont know if i am asking a right question but there's a requirement of this feature in or java based web application (used GWT[Google web toolkit])
Application is on cloud , Users access the application from their browser and perform some action and application has a linked database.(MySQL)
Now what need to be done is , If sometime a user is offline , they still need to access some part of the application (From Mobile/Tablets)
save some of their work while being offline.
and next time when user gets Online , they should be able to upload that saved work to our cloud database.
Please give me some hint how can i achieve this , i.e is it possible for my users to access my web application from their Mobile while being offline and also see the latest database data.(at the time when they were last online).

I am trying to implement app links into my app to make sure that other malicious apps cannot register for my URL.
I read the guide on app links here https://developer.android.com/training/app-links/verify-site-associations.html and I have mostly understood it. But one thing which is not clear to me is how can I prevent malicious apps from receiving my domain links if my app is not installed.
Consider this scenario.
1. My app is not installed on the user's device
2. Some malicious app is and it knows the URL that my app handles
Wouldn't this launch the malicious app and it can intercept my URL if the user selects that app from the disambiguation dialog? Is there any way to prevent it?
I understand that android:autoVerify="true" will trigger the domain verification when the app is installed, but what if the app is not installed?
Whether the user has the app installed or not, the "illegal" app won't be able to handle your links since it has not access to your domain in order to save there the needed JSON file. Am I clear?
There is a JSON file that is required during App Link configuration, that has to be uploaded to your server (that includes your app ID), through which your web-app basically says to the Android OS 'this is my counterpart on Android devices, I authorise it to handle these URLs'. Since app IDs are unique, there is no way another app can meet those conditions.
To quote the docs:
An Android App Link is a deep link based on your website URL that has
been verified to belong to your website.
So, although an app may register an <intent-filter> it ALSO has to be verified by the website whose URL it's trying to handle. And this happens on the server, so, out of the reach of a mobile client.

The company that I work for has some small android applications running that communicate with their ERP software lately they requested to authenticate users and have sessions for safety reasons
Instead of integrating the autheticate and session code into every app (6) I want to build an Android app that acts like a dashboard. The app will authenticate the user, create a session and show the available apps on the device that the user can access with their user role.
The problem is I need the know which app requires which user role
I don't want to store this information in the dashboard app sinds that will require me to update the dashboard app each time i create or change an app
I was thinking or using an Content provider but that seems to be a lot of work and redundant since it has to be integrated into every app that I have (6)
So my question, is there a way to get data from apps that can easily be implemented. The data isn't big (only one Integer)

I have a java client (Standalone app) that is using the Firebase Admin SDK, because I need to read values from the Realtime database whenever a value is changed. (A ValueChange listener is being used).
Currently I'm including the service-account.json in the app. Even if I set the roles to Viewer, using this service-account.json, I can create accounts usingFirebaseAuth.createCustomTokenAsync, which is something I dont want.
Is there a way to make a service-account with Realtime-database read only?
I know I can use setDatabaseAuthVariableOverride to "limit", but if someone extracts my service-account.json from the app/jar, they have the power to do everything..
I'm not using node.js, just Java with spring. And js firebase is a no, because I need to receive updates even without a web page.
Never distribute service accounts to end users. They should only go to trusted parties.
There is currently no fine-grained way to control access to Realtime Database via service accounts. Access control is performed via Firebase Authentication client libraries, which are not available for non-Android Java clients.
Hi I have developed an web application using google app engine, for google shared domain contact, Its working fine when I am running it in the localhost but when I deploy that application into google app engine it showing warning screen before user conforming for consent(as shown in the image).
I am using 2 scope http://www.google.com/m8/feeds/contacts/ and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email. when I try to add a user information in the google shared contact I am getting a exception message as www.google.com. How can I resolve the problem? am i need to verify my application in the oauth_app_verification. Can any one solve this?

You need to go through the verification process before you launch your app. This new process came recently to protect user's data. You can start the verification by submitting this form but before it is recommended to follow steps here
I am want to do registration in my app. So i have made all requests to my web service.
I now when user is registered.
Now i need to save somewhere that he is registered that don't give him registration form again.
How to do this ?
Do i need to save somewhere in my sqlite database and every time when app lunches check if he is registered user. Or maybe in app settings i could save this information.
I am new to developing android app and i am searching for the right way.

You could save that with SharedPreferences. Check the link for sample code.

This data will be removed if the users uninstalls the app or clears all data from system menu.
Edit: If you really want to remember preferences across installs you should try Backup API. http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/backup.html
The best solution is to use Android's Account Manager to handle user account. This aproach is the most secure (credentials are not exposed), however it has two drawbacks:
It's a little bit complocated to set up
It requires at least API version 5
Once the user registered you can save in your sqlite database and you have to check for each time when your application launches. But if the user uninstalled the application and tried to reinstall it ll ask for registration again.. In order to avoid this you have to store the information like the device id and the registered details in some servers and also in sqlite database and have to check when the application launches...
